Long story short, the service department at Auto Nation of Carlsbad was good for the most part, they replaced my engine after a series of problems, still a few miles under warranty. They even gave me a loaner after several inquires about one. When I picked up my car it had these numerous scratches and mini gouges on it that it didn’t have when I dropped it off. They have yet to respond to my complaint. I’m very upset. Iv’e taken great precaution to not get any dings or scratches on my car. Then I get it back with all this.! Well though Hyundai posted on their response, probably a generated response to look good for google, I contacted them as they said and asked to speak with the GM as they requested. They weren’t available and still not have returned my call. We all know nothing will be done. I know when I buy my next vehicle it won’t be from there, nor will I get my car serviced there again. I started going there because Escondido Hyundai was so bad. Starting to think that maybe they all are.

Service is usually good, but this recent time when I picked up my car, it wouldn't start after I turned it off, so I was stranded at a gas station about a mile from the dealership. I called them, they said they couldn't help and I would need to call a tow truck. They offered to transfer me to a supervisor, I said yes, they did, and then the call was immediately dropped. I went through the process again, and again I was immediately hung up on. One employee mentioned that the supervisor just doesn't answer their phone, so keep that in mind.

The service department has improved much since my last review. Service appointments are easy to schedule. However, even with an appointment, it takes too long while waiting for a basic service. If they could improve on the wait time to less than 2 hours, I would give a 5 star.

I’ve had Hyundai vehicles for many years and have been extremely happy with my purchases and the overall service that they have given me through the years. On my last occasion, it was for two Updates on software, I waited in their customer lobby enjoyed coffee And watched Fox News for about an hour and a half. They offered me a shuttle to and from my home, but I figured if I stayed there, I’d get my car out sooner. Good guys.

It appears that they repaired my car, and it was fully covered by warranty, so that went fine. However, it took nearly a week to get an appointment, a full 3 days for them to diagnose the issue, then over two weeks to get a part. Through this, there was no communication, and when I reached out to ask about the status of my car, it was nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone who could help. They rarely returned calls or texts. They seem to be severely understaffed.

April 2025 - Brought my 15 year old Santa Fe GLS for a long overdue eval. The Waiting Lounge is spacious, numerous comfortable seats; another area available if needing to do some work done; comp Keurig, refrigerated drinks with some chips; vending machine with items for purchase. Did not explore the bathroom, had errands to complete. Service Advisor was calm and pleasant, even assisted me in articulating what I needed checked. It was somewhat weird just receiving a text message about the status and recommendations on my vehicle. While the text message made it easier to review and refer later on, I appreciate that when I requested a call back, the Service Advisor did call back and went over everything. Along with the text message, a video was also sent to show how the Service Technician pointed out various areas of my vehicle that requires attention. Now that I saw that video, it's not just all words for me, I can now sort of understand what they're telling me.

Adam was great...I purchased a used car from AutoNation Hyundai Carlsbad.All the people that work there are very nice.It took me awhile to get down there and lucky me it was still there and Adam had been texting me quite a bit, but was not too pushy.Would definitely recommend this dealership.The only strange thing that happened was the manager sent me an "Ultimatum" email asking me what I was planning to do.I said I bought a car from you two weeks ago.Hello? So AutoNation just FYI might want to scrub that auto email from your files.Thanks Adam, I appreciate the great deal I got. Shout out to Cody too, you did your best to sell me! LOL

Madison got me in on the same day and helped me get my dead battery swapped out. She listened and took time to understand my concerns and even got me a ride home, while the work was being performed. While I still have some concerns about the root cause of why my battery died, I felt confident the issues with my vehicle were being addressed.
