Mercedes-Benz of Carlsbad Service Center

If I could give 0 I would. They’ve used to be decent service place but not anymore. They’ve said my car is total bust as soon as I’ve arrived. No check or even trying to start it. They recommend I donate the car to them or trade it for something else( of course in their dealership). The bill they’ve quoted was $1000 for diagnosing and new key.That should have happened the same day. After 3 days they’ve called and told they couldn’t start the car, and new battery will be $600. I’ve stopped the work and told them I’ll take my car elsewhere. When I came, the window was down ( it’s electric, and they’ve claimed they couldn’t start the car), start button and battery cover were missing. They didn’t know what happened. Terrible place.

I have had nothing but exceptional and consistent service from Hoehn (now Mercedes-Benz of Carlsbad) and particularly Paul who has guided us through 2 cars and now a new 3rd one that we bought here. Great sales staff too. They had the car we wanted when no one else did.

First service for us with this car. Basic A service (oil change + misc). $400+. That's OK. Service writer showed me a couple of things on the car and got my key working. When I went to pick up car this morning, it had been left out overnight, so it was dirty. I asked why they hadn't washed it and was told it was washed yesterday and left out. That made no sense to me since they knew I was picking car up in the morning. I asked they wSh the car again, they agreed to, after 20 minutes, no car. Got the service writer to find out when I would get car and it showed up. Drove off lot and chime starts. Can't figure out what's wrong, maybe hood isn't closed. Pull to side, hood looks closed, press it down to make sure. Drive away, still chimes. Bring it back to dealer. Winds up hood wasn't closed, you'd think they would check, right? Anyway, car is back and wife is happy 😊

Service advisors are professional and helpful. Facility is great. Reason for one rating has to do with Mercedes policy about a technical issue that they are aware of and apparently for some reason not wanting to address. Trying since January 3 to replace a weak battery on a 2021 glc 300 under warranty. Low battery causes the vehicle stop start system not to work unless driven for an hour to 90 minutes on freeway after which it will only work until the car sat in the garage for a day or two. Car display also indicate intermittent weak or low and partially charged battery warnings. Hoehn service deep cycle charged it twice keeping the car there for a week each time. They provided a loaner but it’s inconvenient since I have to drive the car from Temecula. Temecula Mercedes has also deep charged the battery so on record is 3 deep cycle charges and stop start function doesn’t work which increases fuel consumption noticeably. Update 2-27-24. Talked to them this morning. Waiting to hear back when I can bring in the vehicle for a new battery. It has to be approved by someone.

They are absolutely wonderful- but understaffed. Their service center is so busy! Getting a concierge car during repairs is weeks to months out.

After my first experience here I was going to give a 2 star review. But the last two times have been seamless and the staff has been great.
