Spencer Automotive Customer Reviews

Good customer service in person and quick turnaround for repairs. The reason I am rating 3 stars is because they told me diagnostic was going to be 150 over the phone when it was about 165 per hour. (This doesn’t actually matter to me, it’s a few bucks and people make mistakes) What matters is that they used a different synthetic oil than what I had specifically told them to only use on the phone which is also the oil type that is listed on the engine. (There’s kind of no excuse for this as I told them I had that oil in the backseat and to make sure they use it.) I have no problem paying for fast efficient work but I do feel a little taken advantage of. I do not believe I will be coming back here because of this unfortunately as it is frustrating just thinking about it.

Only place you should be taking your car for auto repairs. They located the “strange noise” on the car. They offered to replace the exhaust but, referred me to another shop because they do quality work and can do it for cheaper. How awesome is that? Especially nowadays. They reassured me the car is in good working condition and overall no safety concerns. This place is great, honest, and I will forever take my vehicles here for future inspections/repairs.

Great shop, they are willing to explain in detail what work needs to be done and the price is very reasonable. Have taken my car here several times and it has never been a bad experience.

Two competitors overcharged me for the diagnostics 😳. One didn’t even rescan for the error code on my BMW 😤 once the relay box was replaced. Specter Automotive Family please forgive me 🥺! You all treated me with great care when replacing my headlights … you saved me $250 🤩 You called me and asked if I could be without my vehicle for an additional day to complete my valve cover gasket … the other two repair shops didn’t call me I had to call them …oh yeah they had my vehicle for one week each 😡. Spencer you thoroughly reviewed my car, let me know what should be replaced without taking two paychecks. I’d recommend you to anyone with a foreign car 🚘!

Took car in for oil change, later in the day noticed a large puddle of oil on garage floor under the car. Overnight about half a quart drained and I refilled before taking car back. Afterwards they admitted that it was from the oil plug gasket and they normally don't replace these. Took car home and checked oil level to find that it was overfilled, oil beyond the Full indicator on dipstick, took car back and it was resolved. Spoke to owner and was informed oil leak was from oil filter part I had provided, I told him his mechanic explicitly told me it was from the oil plug gasket not being replaced. I don't know which is the truth here...But do not trust them with your car.
