I made an appointment for an oil change and my experience is that they met all expectations. They provided the service with a smile and were very courteous. I would just let people know that the oil change may take up to two hours if not a little longer so be prepared other than that excellent service. I would recommend them for an oil change.

Pep Boys on Glenwood is great. The front desk is usually who I speak with and very helpful with wait times/updates. Also appreciate that they called me to let me know state inspector not there the day I originally scheduled for so could reschedule to have both services on same days. Been going there for years and will continue.

We have been using Pep Boys over our local Chevy dealer as the prices are reasonable and the care and repairs are all solid. I would recommend for anything routine or issues that need to be fixed. They have the inventory in stock to get things completed in a timely manner and they communicate well. This past summer, PepBoys caught an issue with our brakes that the dealer didn’t catch after we paid the dealer for a diagnostic. We ended up taking back to the dealer with the report and they apologized for missing it. We ended up getting the repairs and new brakes with Pep Boys.

I brought my car in to have a battery, alternator and starter diagnostic test done. All of the employees were courteous and friendly. It was a very good experience. I brought my daughter’s car to the same location a year ago for new tires, a battery and several other things. I had the same good experience at that time.

I was in the Outer Banks when I noticed an issue with my wheel bearing and was worried about making it back to Nashville. I called Pep Boys in Raleigh, NC that night, and they reassured me they had the part in stock and could get me in the next day on a Saturday. I scheduled an appointment, and they had me back on the road in just three hours after replacing the wheel bearing and assembly. Their professionalism and efficiency gave me peace of mind for the rest of my trip. Highly recommend them for quick, reliable service!

I took my car here to get a state safety inspection and they made my car unsafe. They said my serpentine belt on my Toyota needed to be replaced or they would fail my inspection. We said okay and they replaced it for $230. One day later, I hear a spinning clicking sound, coming from the front of my car while driving on the highway. I pull over when I can and lift my hood, only to find my brand new belt is completely shredded. I limp it to the shop because i’m only 6 minutes away and tell them what happened. They took a look and the guy told me they needed to replace the pulley as well (when you replace a serpentine belt, you need to replace the pulley as well) which they should’ve done the first time they did it. Due to the pulley being bad it caused the belt to shred itself. The first guy I spoke to was super nice and concerned at it and told me it would be taken care of. The second guy I spoke to once I was leaving was kind of pompous and told me that I have to pay for the Pulley replacement. I told him no and explained everything that happened again. He told me I was wrong and that you don’t have to replace them both at the same time, but then proceeded to say they’ll take responsibility because their tech should’ve caught that the pulley was bad as well as the belt. I spent 14 hours at this pep boys over two days. Now i’m home writing this and my car is making a clunking noise it’s never made before taking it to this shop. Please be cautious when you go here, because they WILL try to take advantage of you just like almost every other mechanic shop. I will say they didn’t charge me for the extra labor but I could’ve died from their negligence. If I didn’t hear the noise while I was driving , the belt could’ve severed completely and caused the car to loose power steering.

I had the worst experience I've ever had trying to get an oil change and inspection. What should’ve been a routine service ended up taking two trips and costing me over three and a half hours of my time — time I’ll never get back. And the service was NEVER performed. I first visited the shop on Sunday, April 12 2025 at 10:30 AM. I was told it could be hours before anyone could see my car, and that the oil change alone would take about an hour. That was fine, since I was free that day. But the front desk suggested I schedule an appointment, so I did — the only appointment he had the following day was after 1 PM. I chose 2 PM on Monday and received a confirmation. When I returned Monday at 2 PM, I checked in, took a few meetings, and handled emails while I waited. After two and a half hours, I followed up at the desk and was told my car was "up next." At that point, it had been three hours since my scheduled appointment — and my car hadn’t even been touched. So why was I encouraged to make an appointment if it didn’t matter? And if you knew you were this behind, why not call me to reschedule or at least give me a heads-up? I unfortunately had to leave after spending 3 hours at the shop. At this time it is 5pm and I have other obligations needed with my car. To make matters worse, I overheard a new customer being told it would take just an hour for their service. Why mislead people? This entire experience was a waste — of my time, my gas (two trips), and even your technicians’ time, since someone briefly took my car back only to return it to the lot without performing any service. The lack of communication, efficiency, and transparency is incredibly disappointing. If I ever decide to have suicidal thoughts I will be returning because that’s how awful it was. But I certainly will NEVER recommend your service to anyone. Imagine making an appointment at the Dr. office, hair salon, vet, dinner reservations, bank and hanging out for 3 whole hours with no intentions obliging the appointment put in place. Utterly shook how horrendous it’s still making me feel.

Seriously... my son took his car here for a simple inspection that took over an hour... They proceeded to tell him his tail light was out (it clearly is not), told him his car does not have a muffler... He has had this car for 11 years and it definitely has a muffler, my other son has been his mechanic for years now and we would know if there was no muffler. They also mentioned his tires, which he just replaced less than a year ago. They told him he needed a serpentine belt, which he does not. Like I said he has a personal mechanic so we know what the car needs and does not need. This place is ridiculous and wasted time, not only my sons time, but time they could have been doing jobs that actually need doing. An inspection should take no more than 15 minutes.. and yes, I did work at a mechanic shop for several years so I do know what I am talking about. If I was the owner of this business I would want to know how my employees were doing business and wasting time.
