Features and Customer Experiences

Customer feedback provides a varied perspective on the Harvey Cadillac Service Department, highlighting both positive aspects and significant areas of concern:

  • Positive Customer Service and Problem Resolution: One customer, after previous negative dealership experiences, expressed pleasant surprise with the "genuine concern" of service manager Dustin Weigerink. This manager successfully "remedied my problem to my satisfaction" regarding squeaking brakes on a 2022 Cadillac XT6. This indicates a capacity for effective problem-solving and customer-focused resolution when issues are addressed by key personnel.

  • Severe Service Oversight (Oil Change): A deeply troubling review describes a "horrible service" experience where, after a standard oil change, the customer found "all the lug nuts were loose and could be tightened by hand," leading to a "disturbing grinding noise." This represents a critical safety oversight that could have led to serious vehicle damage or accidents, and the customer found the dealership's "simple apology" insufficient for the severity of the error. This incident raises significant concerns about quality control and technician diligence in basic services.

  • Prolonged Repair Times and Lack of Communication/Support: The same customer detailed an equally distressing experience involving major engine work. After being told minor cosmetic repairs would take until November, the car suffered a severe mechanical breakdown ("driving in reverse and backfiring") just two weeks later, requiring towing. The customer was given an estimate of "nearly $4000 for engine work" and faced a "5 months" wait due to parts shortages from a GM strike. During this extensive period, the dealership provided "no loaner car," "no for sure date on when I would have my vehicle back," and "no clear reason on how or why my car was having issues." The lack of communication, transportation, and any form of compensation or discount for the protracted inconvenience, culminating in the service manager "even had the audacity to ask me after everything if I wanted an oil change," profoundly soured the customer's perception. This showcases significant issues with customer communication, logistical support during extended repairs, and empathy.

  • Initial Car Buying Experience Issues: The review also points to a protracted and difficult car buying process, taking "over 9 hours to purchase" a 2019 ATS, which set a negative tone from the outset.

These reviews paint a picture of inconsistency. While some customers may experience satisfactory service, others encounter significant safety hazards, communication failures, and a lack of support during complex or prolonged repairs. For local users, this suggests the importance of diligent follow-up on all services performed, clear communication of expectations, and potentially seeking alternatives for extended repairs if loaner vehicles or consistent updates are critical.

Promotional Information

As a Cadillac dealership, Harvey Cadillac Service Department would regularly offer various promotions and incentives to attract and retain customers for both parts and service. While no specific promotions were detailed in the provided reviews, typical dealership offerings often include:

  • Service Specials: These can range from discounted oil changes and tire rotations to special pricing on brake service packages or battery replacements. Dealerships often provide coupons or seasonal promotions that are updated regularly on their official websites.

  • Parts Specials: Discounts on genuine Cadillac parts and accessories might be available, especially for common replacement items or popular upgrades.

  • Tire Promotions: Offers such as "buy three get one free" or rebates on specific tire brands are common throughout the year.

  • New Customer Incentives: Occasionally, dealerships might offer introductory discounts for first-time service visits to encourage new customers.

  • Online Scheduling: While not a discount, the convenience of scheduling service appointments online is a key feature promoted by most modern dealerships, streamlining the customer experience.

Local customers interested in servicing their Cadillac at Harvey Cadillac Service Department are advised to contact them directly at (616) 949-1140 or +1 616-949-1140, or visit their official website. Inquiring about current promotions and discussing specific service needs in detail, including expectations for loaner vehicles or communication during lengthy repairs, would be prudent given the varied customer experiences.

Worst car repair experience and car buying experience of my LIFE. My 2019 ATS took me over 9 hours to purchase, in a single day, I should have known then this was not the place for me. When it came due i took my car in to have a standard oil change $100 no problem. Drove the car home the next morning the oil that was suppose to be in my car was all over the floor of my garage. Apparently the people who work for cadillac don't even know how to tighten an oil cap, should have done the oil change myself I could have done a better job. 馃槖 lesson learned. In September 2023 I needed some minor cosmetic repairs done to the front end, I brought it to Harvey Collison and was told they wouldn't be able to complete the work until November but I was able to continue driving my car until that time. I was told. 2 weeks later the car started driving in reverse and backfiring. It had to be towed to Harvey Cadillac at that time, where I was given an estimate for nearly $4000 for engine work that was determined to be an issue. With GM on strike they weren't able to secure the part needed until late November. They provided me no loaner car no for sure date on when I would have my vehicle back and no clear reason on how or why my car was having issues. Now after 5 months I'm told my vehicle is ready for pick up. Nearly half a year these people have basically held my car hostage provided me no alternate form of transportation and now they want to be paid in full. Zero discount zero complimentary anything just a large number with no regard or thought of how ive even been getting to work the past 5 months so id even be able to pay them. The service manager even had the audacity to ask me after everything if I wanted an oil change 馃檮 seriously this is a "luxury car buying experience"?! What a joke. These people need an actual lesson on taking care of a customer. Never again will I step foot in this place. If I need anything for my Cadillac I'd rather drive to Lansing then deal with these morons.

This place always over charges me. I took my car in to get looked at and they charged me $150 which is ok. But quoted me almost 3gs to fix things that aren't the problem of my vehicle. Which means I would have got it "fixed" and would still have had issues. Then would have charged me to look at it again then charged me to fix that too. I get that it's business but Mr Harvey himself should want his cars on the road and not sitting in a shop waiting to be fixed because a person can't afford the overprice of parts and labor. Saddening. I've had caddys for most of my life and love the car but I feel robbed when I need it serviced.

I do not recommend this dealership. They are Thieves. We asked them to change one thing and they changed many things. Ever since we bought the car brand new it鈥檚 been having problems with the wheels. DO NOT COME HERE.
