Fremont Hyundai Service Center

To be clear: This is a review of the service department. The sales department is fine. So, on to my review of the service department…. I recently brought my car in for servicing, including parts and labor that Fremont Hyundai recommended. They told me the work would take 1.5 weeks. I just picked it up yesterday—22 days after I brought it in. They also said it would cost $1600 – for everything. Weeks later, they told me it was going to run north of $2300. After lots of discussion, and hounding them relentlessly, I got them to stay to stay at $1600 they quoted me, but only because they didn’t give me 2 new tires as part of the service that they originally recommended. The long and short of it is this: a cascading series of events + lack of accountability + poor service and follow through + little sense of responsibility on by the staff means I cannot recommend taking your car here at all, unless it’s for some sort of recall. If you have any thought of taking your car elsewhere for service, I recommend you follow your gut and do just that.

Terrible service. They don’t pick up calls and take many days to service things that should take only a couple hours. And they don’t communicate or update you.

I worked with Jay on replacing my engine system. He was super thorough in his explanation of what was required and how much time was needed to fix my vehicle. He even helped me with a loaner for work which I ended up not needing too long because the team worked fast to fix my car. Definitely looking to keep my business here with Jay and team!

I set up service appointment online. Their sms reminders where very helpful. I was in dealership in time. It took them close to half an hour to do the paperwork to accept my car. They finished the service on time.

I acquired my vehicle in June 2023 from Hyundai San Bruno. Unfortunately, upon delivery, I discovered several dents on the tailgate and promptly notified the dealership. Despite my efforts to communicate the issue, they initially displayed reluctance to rectify the problem. After a protracted period of over two months, the dealership finally agreed to cover the repair costs. Approximately six months later, I attempted to schedule a routine checkup and address an additional issue with a rattling tailgate. Despite multiple attempts to contact the service department, my calls remained unanswered, and no return calls were received. Consequently, I decided to seek services from Hyundai dealership in Fremont. In contrast to my previous experience, the Fremont dealership provided an exceptional customer service. I was able to effortlessly schedule an appointment online and received a confirmation email. Upon arrival, my vehicle underwent the scheduled checkup, and the rattling issue was successfully resolved. Remarkably, the dealership even provided a complimentary car wash prior to returning the vehicle. The personnel at the Fremont dealership demonstrated utmost professionalism and helpfulness, making the entire experience highly satisfactory. Although the dealership is located further from my residence compared to the San Bruno dealership, I intend to continue utilizing their services in the future. I am thoroughly pleased with my Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the exceptional service provided by the Fremont Hyundai dealership. This positive experience has restored my confidence in the Hyundai brand, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Fremont Hyundai to my associates and acquaintances seeking a Hyundai vehicle.

Dropped off my 2021 Kona 1.6L after smelling faint fuel/exhaust in the cabin from the vents when the engine was cold. Quickly diagnosed as a cracked stud in the turbo and they ordered a new turbo assembly. Everything was covered under warranty, no questions asked. Dropped off Tuesday, picked up Monday. Service rep noted they *could* do it quicker, they just wanted to do it right. That's a-okay by me. Service was quick and friendly, and my Kona's running great again with no more smell. Fremont Hyundai will be my go-to dealership for service going forward. They're a little out of my way, but have plenty of appointments available and did a really great job. Thanks, y'all!
