Dave's Automotive Introduce
Dave's Automotive, located at 17148 NC-211, Red Springs, NC 28377, USA, operates as an "Auto Repair Station" serving the automotive needs of the local community. They can be contacted by phone at (910) 843-9245 or via mobile at +1 910-843-9245. This establishment aims to provide various vehicle repair and maintenance services, contributing to the upkeep of cars and trucks in the Red Springs area.
As an "Auto Repair Station," Dave's Automotive would typically feature a functional environment designed for vehicle servicing. This usually includes a garage area equipped with lifts, diagnostic tools, and various mechanical equipment necessary for a range of automotive repairs. There would also likely be a reception or waiting area where customers can consult with staff about their vehicle's issues, arrange for service, and wait for their repairs to be completed. The overall atmosphere of a local, independent shop like Dave's Automotive can vary, but based on customer feedback, there's a strong emphasis on direct communication and a family-oriented feel from some perspectives, while others indicate a more selective approach to service.
Dave's Automotive, as an "Auto Repair Station," would generally offer a comprehensive suite of services for vehicle maintenance and repair. While specific details of their full service list are not provided, a shop of this nature typically handles a broad spectrum of automotive issues. Common services offered would include:
- General Mechanical Repairs: Addressing a wide range of common vehicle problems, such as engine performance issues, strange noises, and warning lights.
- Routine Maintenance: Essential services like oil changes, filter replacements (air, cabin, fuel), fluid checks and flushes (transmission, brake, coolant), and tire rotations.
- Brake Services: Inspection, repair, and replacement of brake pads, rotors, calipers, and brake fluid services.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilizing tools like OBDII scanners to read vehicle codes and diagnose underlying issues, which is standard for modern automotive repair.
- Engine and Drivetrain Repair: From minor tune-ups to more significant repairs involving the engine, transmission, and drive axle components.
- Suspension and Steering Repair: Addressing issues with shocks, struts, ball joints, and other components affecting ride comfort and vehicle handling.
- Electrical System Repair: Diagnosing and fixing problems related to batteries, alternators, starters, and general vehicle wiring.
However, it is important to note a contrasting customer experience. One reviewer stated that "Dave would not even take a look at my vehicle, not even run the OBDII scanner to show what codes it was reading. He said 'the car is probably just too old.' It is a 2010 Chevy Aveo with 125,000 miles on it. Dave sputtered off a dozen different excuses not to work on the car or even look at it, though I expressed it was only leaking a small amount of oil." This suggests that while a wide range of services might generally be offered, there may be instances where certain vehicles or repair requests are declined, potentially based on the vehicle's age or the shop's assessment of the repair's viability or profitability.
Customer reviews present a mixed but insightful picture of Dave's Automotive, highlighting contrasting experiences regarding their features and customer service. One particularly positive review emphasizes several key features:
- Exceptional Customer Service: "Mr. Dave and his family provided an outstanding experience! The customer service was top-notch—Mr. Dave was incredibly informative, honest, and transparent throughout the process." This suggests a strong focus on clear communication and building trust with clients.
- Honesty and Transparency: The reviewer explicitly praises Mr. Dave for being "incredibly informative, honest, and transparent," and treating them "with respect and fairness, without any attempt to take advantage of me as a female customer." This is a significant feature in the auto repair industry, where trust and fair dealing are highly valued.
- Impressive Turnaround Time: The customer noted, "The turnaround time was impressive," which is a crucial factor for vehicle owners needing their cars back quickly.
- Trusted Local Shop: Being referred to as "truly one of the best shops in the area" speaks volumes about their reputation among some customers.
Conversely, a negative review offers a stark contrast, highlighting a different set of features:
- Selectivity in Service/Refusal to Diagnose: The customer's experience of being turned away, with Dave stating "the car is probably just too old" for a 2010 Chevy Aveo with 125,000 miles, and his refusal to "even take a look at my vehicle, not even run the OBDII scanner," indicates a potential selectivity in the types of vehicles or repairs they are willing to undertake. This could be seen as a feature of their business model, focusing on certain types of jobs or vehicles.
- Perceived Unwillingness to Help: The customer's feeling that Dave "sputtered off a dozen different excuses not to work on the car or even look at it" suggests a lack of willingness to engage with certain repair requests, even for seemingly minor issues like a small oil leak.
These contrasting accounts paint a picture of a business that, for some customers, offers exceptional, honest, and efficient service, fostering strong trust, while for others, it may be perceived as unhelpful or unwilling to service certain vehicles based on factors like age or perceived complexity. This duality is a significant characteristic of Dave's Automotive.
Based on the provided information, there is no explicit promotional material or special offers mentioned for Dave's Automotive. Independent "Auto Repair Stations" like this often rely heavily on word-of-mouth referrals due to positive customer experiences, which is clearly a strength for some of their clients. Typical promotional strategies for such businesses might include:
- Reputation-Based Marketing: Leveraging positive customer testimonials to attract new clients, perhaps by displaying them on their website or in their physical location. The highly positive review highlights their strengths in customer service, honesty, and quick turnaround.
- Local Advertising: Participating in local community advertisements or directories.
- First-Time Customer Discounts: Offering small incentives to encourage new customers to try their service.
- Seasonal Maintenance Specials: Promoting deals on services relevant to specific times of the year, such as pre-winter checks or summer AC services.
- Online Presence: While not detailed, having a basic online presence with accurate contact information and perhaps a place for reviews would be beneficial.
Given the strong positive feedback regarding honesty and respect, particularly for female customers, this aspect could be a significant, albeit implicit, promotional advantage. Potential customers in Red Springs, NC, interested in Dave's Automotive are encouraged to contact them directly at (910) 843-9245 to inquire about their services, pricing, and availability, and to assess whether their specific vehicle and repair needs align with the shop's operational approach.

Dave is extremely professional and takes the time to have a conversation with every customer. I had a full set of tires replaced and he explained everything that he would be taking care of. My tires are new, aligned, and my ride is now smooth as butter! If you're need of a mechanic, check out Dave's Automotive.

My truck had been down for three months. We were attempting to repair it on our own, but after replacing four or five different parts with no success, I looked for a good shop. As I am new to the area I went online and found Dave's Automotive. I went by his shop and discussed the issues. Dave came and picked up my truck. He got back to me within an hour with the problem and pricing. He got the part in and had my truck ready to go in approximately four hours! I was overjoyed!! He was extremely helpful and professional. He was true to his word, gave a fair price, and had me on the road quickly!!
