University Volkswagen Service

I received a quote for $1,900 for my car to get repaired, an 8 hour job turned into 4 weeks, and the bill came to $3,400. A few improvements I would make, they shouldn’t be giving customers an eta if they cannot stick to the time line. That is just bad customer service. They also shouldn’t be sending people estimated quotes that are like $1,500 below what the actual total cost is going to be especially when said customers have to rely on financing, and budgets. Had I would have known the entire repair was going to take 4 weeks and cost $1,500 more than the estimate, I would have taken my car some place else. Not to mention the $2,000 I had to spend on a rental car for 4 weeks. Out of all the times I called them, not once did they mention that the total was going to come out to $3,400, so imagine my surprise when I went to go get my car. If they are the ones performing the service I do not understand how the estimate was so inaccurate. It’s an estimate, I get the price is bound to change, but to change so drastically to add an extra $1,500 to the bill is unreasonable to not know about that. Overall Volkswagen did incredible damage to my wallet that I was not prepared for. I will not be taking my car back here for any major repairs other than oil changes, and that will be changing once I can find a cheaper place for oil changes.

We came in on a Saturday 10 minutes before service closed and everybody was still SO kind. John, Briley, and the rest of the service staff made us feel so welcomed especially as out of towners!

The service department is almost always busy! This is not necessarily a bad thing. It does mean plan accordingly for things like follow-ups for parts and making appointments.

I was guaranteed my oil leak would be fixed. $2,700 and 3 visits later they want another $2,100 because they didn’t fully diagnose it to begin with. No loaner cars available - no matter how inconvenient it is to you. I was someone that would be a potential repeat VW buyer within the next 1-2 years but I’m currently disappointed in the quality and my experience at this service center.
