SpeedOutfitters Introduce

For local users with a passion for speed, motorsports, and outdoor power adventures, SpeedOutfitters stands as a dedicated and comprehensive sporting goods store. While categorized under "Auto Repair Stations" on some platforms, it's crucial to understand that SpeedOutfitters' primary focus is on providing high-quality parts, accessories, and apparel for motorcycles and powersports, rather than traditional car repair. Based out of Elkhart, Indiana, this establishment has grown significantly since its founding in 2004 by Travis Baird, evolving from a local retail store ("Baird Motorcycles") into a robust online and brick-and-mortar operation serving a global customer base.

SpeedOutfitters specializes in outfitting enthusiasts for various forms of motorcycling and powersports, including dirt, street, and drag racing. This deep specialization allows them to offer a curated and extensive inventory that caters to the specific needs of riders and racers. The company's growth, evidenced by its physical store, online presence (eBay, Amazon, SpeedOutfitters.com), and significant export operations, speaks to its success in meeting the demands of a passionate community.

Environment and Customer Experience

SpeedOutfitters operates out of a substantial 7,000 sq. ft. brick-and-mortar store in Elkhart, Indiana. While specific interior aesthetics are not widely detailed, a store of this size dedicated to specialized sporting goods would typically feature a well-organized and immersive environment. Customers can expect:

  • Extensive Product Displays: Given the vast inventory, the store would likely have well-arranged displays of motorcycle parts (e.g., brakes, engine components, exhaust systems), accessories (e.g., luggage, mirrors, grips), and a wide range of apparel (helmets, jackets, gloves, boots).
  • Knowledgeable Staff: Crucially, a specialized store like SpeedOutfitters prides itself on employing staff (around 10 individuals) who are not just salespeople but often enthusiasts themselves. This translates into knowledgeable assistance, helping customers find the right parts for their specific bikes or guiding them on appropriate gear for their riding style.
  • Efficient Service: Both in-store and online, SpeedOutfitters aims for efficient processing. Their high volume of sales on platforms like eBay (over 407,000 items sold with 95.7% positive feedback) suggests a streamlined operation for order fulfillment and customer inquiries.
  • Online Integration: The seamless integration of their physical store with robust online platforms (SpeedOutfitters.com, eBay, Amazon) enhances the customer experience, allowing for convenient Browse, purchasing, and order tracking from anywhere.
  • Customer Support: While detailed support channels are not always specified, the positive feedback on eBay often highlights "quick replies back for questions" and "great communication," indicating a responsive customer service approach.

The overall environment is designed to be a hub for motorcycle and powersports enthusiasts, providing a physical space to see and feel products, complemented by the convenience of online shopping.

Services Offered and Product Categories

As a sporting goods store specializing in powersports, SpeedOutfitters offers a diverse array of goods and services primarily centered around outfitting individuals and their vehicles for speed and adventure. While not an "Auto Repair Station" in the traditional sense of fixing passenger cars, their offerings directly support the maintenance, enhancement, and enjoyment of motorcycles and powersports vehicles. Their main categories include:

  • Motorcycle Parts & Accessories:
    • Performance Parts: Components designed to enhance engine power, handling, and overall speed, often including exhaust systems, air intakes, and tuning kits.
    • Replacement Parts: A vast inventory of essential replacement parts for various motorcycle makes and models, such as brake pads, oil filters, chains, sprockets, and electrical components.
    • Aftermarket Accessories: Customization options like handlebars, grips, mirrors, lighting, and luggage systems to personalize vehicles.
  • Powersports Parts & Accessories: This extends beyond motorcycles to include parts for ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles, covering similar categories of performance, replacement, and aftermarket components specific to these vehicles.
  • Riding Apparel & Protective Gear:
    • Helmets: A crucial safety item, available in various styles (full-face, open-face, modular) and brands.
    • Jackets & Pants: Designed for protection and comfort, often featuring armor and weather-resistant materials.
    • Gloves & Boots: Essential for grip, comfort, and protection during rides.
    • Goggles & Eyewear: Especially for dirt and off-road riding.
  • Fluids & Maintenance: Offering a range of oils, lubricants, cleaning supplies, and maintenance tools specific to motorcycles and powersports vehicles.
  • Specialized Gear for Racing: Given their focus on "dirt, street, and drag racing," they provide specialized gear and parts tailored for competitive use, which might include specific tires, racing suits, or performance upgrades.

Their product range includes items from top brands in the automotive and powersports industries, ensuring quality and reliability for their customers. The ability to source products for a broad spectrum of vehicle types, from street cruisers to off-road dirt bikes, makes them a versatile supplier.

Features and Unique Selling Propositions

SpeedOutfitters stands out in the sporting goods and powersports market due to several key features:

  • Deep Specialization: Unlike general sporting goods stores, SpeedOutfitters' singular focus on motorcycles and powersports allows for a much deeper and more comprehensive inventory, catering to very specific enthusiast needs.
  • Extensive Inventory: Operating from a 7,000 sq. ft. facility and with a significant online presence, they boast a vast selection of parts and apparel, aiming to be a true "one-stop shop" for their niche.
  • Strong Online Presence & Global Reach: Their active sales on eBay and Amazon, coupled with exporting 41% of their products to an average of 131 different countries, highlights their robust e-commerce capabilities and international reputation. This broad reach benefits local users by demonstrating their ability to handle high volumes and diverse product requests efficiently.
  • Customer Satisfaction: High positive feedback rates on major e-commerce platforms (like eBay's 95.7%) underscore their commitment to customer service, accurate product descriptions, and fast shipping.
  • Experienced Leadership: Founded by Travis Baird, a motorcycle enthusiast himself, the company is led by someone with a deep understanding of the industry and customer needs.
  • Competitive Pricing: While not explicitly stated as a primary feature, strong online sales often imply competitive pricing to attract a broad customer base. Reviews mentioning "good price" and "great deal" support this.
Promotional Information

While specific, real-time promotional details are not provided in the general information, a business with SpeedOutfitters' sales volume and online presence typically engages in various promotional activities. Given their business model, local users can anticipate:

  • Online Sales and Discounts: Regular sales events, flash deals, or percentage-off discounts on specific product categories or brands, often advertised on their website (SpeedOutfitters.com), eBay, and Amazon storefronts.
  • Seasonal Promotions: Discounts on gear relevant to specific riding seasons (e.g., cold-weather apparel in winter, summer riding gear sales).
  • Clearance and Closeout Sales: Opportunities to purchase discontinued or overstocked items at reduced prices.
  • Free Shipping Offers: For online orders, especially for purchases above a certain threshold, free or discounted shipping is a common incentive.
  • Bundled Deals: Offering packages of related products (e.g., helmet and glove bundles, or specific part kits) at a lower combined price than if purchased separately.

For the most current promotional offers and product availability, local users are encouraged to visit SpeedOutfitters' official website (SpeedOutfitters.com) or check their listings on major e-commerce platforms like eBay and Amazon. Their track record suggests a business that consistently strives to provide value to its dedicated customer base.

SpeedOutfitters Customer Reviews

Maybe too early to leave a review but i’ll do it anyways. Bought a Helmet on Amazon on the 6th because it said it’ll be here on the 11th. Placed the order and waited just for them to create the label on the 8th (2 days later) and drop it off to USPS on the 11th(5 days later). Why hold the package for almost 5 days if its ready to go and paid for? The whole point of buying from this business on Amazon was to get it faster. Today is 14th feb and now the Amazon tracking updated to estimated delivery on the 21st. Paid full price for the item and wasted 15 days for something that should’ve been delivered in 5. (I wouldn't be leaving a review for them if the package had been shipped on time) **Will Update the review once its delivered**

I should have done my research on these guys but I figured since they were selling through Amazon they were ok...WRONG. SpeedOutfitters were none responsive after I placed my order to the point Amazon had to re-request a shippiing date response with the threat of we (Amazon) will cancel the oder if you (SpeedOutfitters) don't respond by this date. After I got my item there is things missing.....Don't buy from these people...

Should have listen to the reviews this makes the second time I’ve ordered a wheel bearing from these guys on a confirm fit part for 1999 Vulcan 800 I don’t understand why you would list it as a front wheel bearing kit for a Kawasaki when it is just not possible for the bearings to go into the wheel the first one I ordered fit but the inner diameter of the first one was way to small so I order the other confirm fit part and now it’s the other way around it fits but the inner diameter is way to big. I am going to return both if eligible. Don’t let people who don’t know bike parts list a part as a confirm fit.

It seems Speed Outfitters has gotten really harsh reviews on here due to past issues. I was very skeptical to buy anything from their Amazon storefront because of the slew of bad reviews. I bit the bullet and ordered anyway, in hopes the fairly old reviews were a thing of the past. I’m happy to say I ordered my parts on Monday night and they are arrived today (Thursday). I believe this business is legitimate and probably had some mishaps that they have since fixed. I will be buying more parts from here and hope to see this business bounce back from their dark past.

I first ordered the product from this seller on Amazon and then read the reviews on Google. At first I was upset about this, but the product was really at the lowest price and shipped on time. I recommend this seller.
