Services Offered

As a Quick Lane "Auto Repair Station," Rochester Quick Lane at Ford provides a focused menu of essential automotive services. While they cater to all makes and models, their primary offerings are geared towards routine maintenance and common wear-and-tear repairs. These services typically include:

  • Oil Change & Filter Replacement: This is a core service, emphasizing speed and efficiency for regular oil and filter changes using various oil types (conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic).

  • Tire Services: Comprehensive tire care including tire rotations, balancing, flat tire repair, and new tire sales from major brands (e.g., Michelin, Goodyear, Firestone, as per the customer review). Tire alignment is also a standard service offered, though the negative review highlights a potential issue with its application or recommendation.

  • Brake Services: Inspection, pad and rotor replacement, brake fluid checks, and other necessary brake system maintenance to ensure optimal stopping power and safety.

  • Battery Test & Replacement: Testing battery health and offering replacements for weak or failing batteries, often with on-site installation.

  • Wiper Blade Replacement: Quick and easy replacement of worn wiper blades for clear visibility.

  • Lamp Replacement: Replacing headlights, taillights, and other exterior lamps.

Key Features and Customer Feedback

Rochester Quick Lane at Ford highlights several features designed to enhance the customer experience, though customer reviews reveal varied experiences:

  • No Appointment Needed: A primary feature of Quick Lane, allowing customers to drop in for service at their convenience, which is ideal for busy schedules.

  • Speed and Efficiency: Services are streamlined to be completed quickly, minimizing waiting times.

  • Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff (Positive Review): The positive customer review praises "friendly knowledge front end Staff ready to answer my questions" and a "nice lady offering me a snack," indicating a focus on customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. This highlights successful execution of their customer comfort strategy.

  • Comfortable Waiting Area: The provision of snacks and a pleasant waiting environment contributes to a positive customer experience.

  • Quality of Work (Mixed Reviews): While the positive review focuses on convenience and staff demeanor, the negative review raises significant concerns about the quality of technical service and subsequent accountability. The customer's experience with a tire burst due to apparent misalignment after a control arm bushing replacement, coupled with the dealership's initial denial, points to potential inconsistencies in service execution or communication. This highlights the importance of thorough post-repair checks, especially when suspension components are involved, and clear communication regarding necessary follow-up services like alignments. The discrepancy between what was allegedly told to the customer and what other Ford dealerships asserted is a critical point for potential customers to consider.

  • All Makes and Models Serviced: Despite being part of a Ford dealership, Quick Lane services vehicles of all brands, broadening its appeal beyond just Ford owners.

The mixed nature of the reviews underscores the importance of both excellent customer service and consistent, high-quality technical work in building and maintaining trust within the "Auto Repair Stations" category.

For those seeking quick, no-appointment-needed routine vehicle care in Rochester, it offers a compelling option, but customers should ensure clear communication regarding all necessary post-repair procedures.

In December 2022 I purchased a set of Firestone tires. In March of this year I had Rochester Ford replace the lower control arm bushing on both front lower control arms and the front brake pads and rotors. After this maintenance was performed the technician did not perform an alignment for my tires. On Sunday September 29 my front passenger tire burst while I was driving on the highway just outside Mauston, Wisconsin. It turns out that both of my front tires had been badly misaligned by replacing the bushings. I, however, initially thought that it was a tire defect. When I complained to Firestone they told me to bring it in, which I did (although to a different location). When they checked the alignment they confirmed that the alignment was off and informed me that it was caused by the replaced bushing. When I brought Firestones report to Ford the response was to hand me a sticky note claiming that replacing the bushing would not affect alignment. Contacting other Ford dealership repair shops has convinced me that this assertion was untrue and that Rochester Fords failure to perform a tire alignment after replacing the bushings is the reason that I was stranded for four hours by the side of the expressway in 85 degree heat.

I've been working with Joe McShan for it feels like a couple years and he is always thorough with explaining the team's work and I don't feel rushed to discuss more about one of the vehicles I bring in. Joe seems genuine in his care for the customer and is proactively looking at how to go the extra mile for his clients. He has earned Rochester Ford Quick Lane a 5-star review from me. Thank you, Joe!

Planned ahead a couple days and made a 4:10 semi synthetic oil change only appointment Finally put on the rack at 4:45. Watched the tech spend nearly 15 minutes attempt to remove the oil filter. Was suggested to purchase a new cabin air filter that was changed 5k and 6 months ago by myself personally. It is now 5:27 and still not completed. 5:34 rung up at the desk. Get the keys and enter to greasy hand print on door handle and no oil life reset. Not impressed vs previous visits. Kinda sad!!

I dropped by on Monday and there was a 2 hour wait for walk-ins. No worries, I called in and created an appointment for Tuesday. When I arrived on Tuesday they couldn't find the appointment. Capped lug nuts are awful, but after declining to purchase whatever aftermarket lug nuts they had on hand, they decided not to complete the service as scheduled. No problem. I left and dropped by O'Reilly's and bought american made lug nuts to swap on. I got every lug nut changed with zero issues in a parking lot in the rain. On the left is what they look like when you do it properly. On the right is the work that the Quick Lane does.
