Inver Grove Ford Service Introduce

Located at 4725 S Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077, USA, Inver Grove Ford Service operates as the dedicated service department for the Inver Grove Ford dealership, falling under the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. This facility is specifically equipped to provide maintenance and repair services for Ford vehicles, leveraging factory-trained technicians and genuine Ford parts. They can be reached via phone at (651) 451-2201 or +1 651-451-2201. An objective introduction to this service center, critically examining customer feedback, reveals significant challenges in service quality and customer satisfaction, despite the potential advantages of a dealership setting.

The environment at Inver Grove Ford Service typically includes a structured service drive-up area, a customer lounge with amenities, and a large service bay area where repairs are performed. Dealership service centers often aim to provide a comfortable waiting experience for customers, frequently offering complimentary Wi-Fi, refreshments, and sometimes shuttle services or rental cars for longer repairs. The operating hours for the service department are generally Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, closed on Sundays, indicating a commitment to serving customers during standard business hours. While the physical amenities might be present, the customer reviews suggest that the overall experience within this environment can be severely marred by operational inefficiencies and poor customer interactions.

As an "Auto Repair Station" within a Ford dealership, Inver Grove Ford Service offers a comprehensive suite of services specifically tailored for Ford vehicles, though they can service other makes and models as well. These services typically include:

  • Routine Maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and top-offs, multi-point inspections, and filter replacements.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Utilizing specialized Ford diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues with engine, transmission, electrical, and other complex systems.
  • Major Repairs: Including engine repair, transmission repair, brake service, suspension work, exhaust system repair, and catalytic converter replacement, as specifically mentioned in customer feedback.
  • Recalls and Warranty Work: Handling manufacturer recalls and repairs covered under Ford's vehicle warranties, including the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Powertrain Warranty, and Corrosion Warranty.
  • Genuine Ford Parts: Using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Ford parts for all repairs, which are typically covered by a Ford Parts Warranty (e.g., two years, unlimited mileage, including labor).
They also offer amenities like complimentary pickup and delivery and mobile service options for added convenience, as seen on their website.

Key features of Inver Grove Ford Service, in an ideal scenario, would include the expertise of Ford-certified technicians, who undergo specialized training to work on Ford vehicles, ensuring accurate diagnostics and high-quality repairs according to factory standards. The use of genuine Ford parts is another significant feature, ensuring compatibility and durability, often backed by Ford's parts warranty. The availability of various Ford protection plans and maintenance programs (like the Premium Maintenance Plan covering scheduled maintenance) is also a feature designed to enhance the ownership experience and provide long-term value. Their large facility with more than 25 service bays and technicians with over 10 years of experience, as stated on some platforms, signifies a substantial operational capacity.

However, the provided customer reviews paint a starkly negative picture, overshadowing many of these potential benefits. A customer describes a "horrible experience" involving a 2018 Ford Transit Connect with power failure/rough idle issues. Despite a $400 diagnostic fee, the issue was misdiagnosed, and a $4000 catalytic converter replacement did not resolve the problem, with the check engine light and rough idle returning almost immediately after pickup. This indicates a severe lack of diagnostic accuracy and quality control, as the vehicle was clearly not properly tested after repair. The customer also points out a potentially missing PCV hose seal that was ignored, raising concerns about attention to detail. This ongoing issue resulted in intermittent oil light and rough idling after substantial, ineffective repairs.

Another review emphatically states, "DO NOT COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE." This customer details a "dysfunctional and disorganized mess" with "trash" customer service. Specific grievances include a $1000 repair for a fuel gauge and system codes (P0453 and P0463) that returned shortly after, leading to repeated issues without a sense of urgency from the service manager. The customer highlights a lack of care, poor communication (waiting for a specific service advisor, no follow-up calls), and a perceived "RIPOFF" $249 diagnostic fee. The accusation of not adding coolant during an oil change, despite billing for it, points to potential negligence and dishonesty. These reviews consistently highlight issues with diagnostic competence, repair efficacy, communication, customer respect, and overall operational efficiency.

Regarding promotional information, Inver Grove Ford Service, like most dealerships, runs various service specials and promotions. These typically include discounts on oil changes (such as 'The Works® Package' which often includes an oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, vehicle check-up, fluid top-off, battery test, and belt/hose check), tire specials (e.g., rebates on tire purchases, price match guarantees), and offers on specific parts or services like brakes and batteries. They also promote their Ford Pass Rewards program, offering points for service visits. While these promotions aim to attract customers with competitive pricing, the severe negative experiences reported suggest that the value of these promotions is diminished if the core service delivery is perceived as incompetent or dishonest. The overwhelming negative sentiment in the provided reviews serves as a significant deterrent, potentially nullifying any promotional efforts.

In conclusion, Inver Grove Ford Service at 4725 S Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077, USA, with contact numbers (651) 451-2201 and +1 651-451-2201, is a Ford dealership service center offering a full range of automotive repair and maintenance services, staffed by factory-trained technicians and utilizing genuine Ford parts. However, based on the provided customer feedback, this specific location appears to suffer from pervasive issues including inaccurate diagnostics, ineffective and costly repairs, poor customer communication, a lack of urgency, and a general disregard for customer satisfaction. These significant concerns far outweigh the typical benefits associated with a dealership service center. Prospective customers are strongly advised to consider these negative experiences and exercise extreme caution if considering this location for their vehicle service needs.

Inver Grove Ford Service Customer Reviews

Brought 2018 Ford Transit Connect in for power failure/rough idle issues. They suggested a drive/road diagnostics. Started to do the road test and stated the vehicle didn’t make it out of the lot, tech pulled codes and charged $400 to read the codes back to me. It then took them two weeks to replace the catalytic converter, which they said was the issue, receive the vehicle back after over $4000 in service charge, and the check engine light and rough idle started within 10 miles of driving the vehicle, they obviously did not do a test drive after supposedly fixing the vehicle. I pointed out upon bringing in the vehicle. The PCV hose looks like it may be missing a seal, looks like they didn’t even touch what I pointed out. I’m no mechanic, but does anyone know if this is correctly installed after leaving a Ford certified dealership service center? 7/21/23, intermittent oil light coming on and starting to rough idle again. After $4000 in repairs. 0 stars!

DO NOT COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. Update 2/8/24: My check engine light came on again and the same problem that happened with the fuel gauge and system codes P0453 and P0463 have returned after paying $1,000 to fix the problem. I spent a $1,000 only to still have the same issues. Then they have so sense of urgency to resolve the problem except adding you to the schedule per the Service Manager (David?). There’s something seriously wrong with this place in addition to my notes below from January. You all are a disgrace on top of a disgrace. I am taking my car to another Ford dealership to see what they screwed up on or didn’t resolve. 1/25/24: This service center is dysfunctional and disorganized mess. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOUR CAR. Look at my hundreds of reviews. I say it like I see it. The customer service is trash. They do not care about the customer. If they did, they wouldn’t have this nonsense. Actions speak louder than words. They treat their customers like trash I regret getting my car towed here. I waited for their Service Advisor (Nick) to call me after I dropped off my car which was absurd because there was a Service Advisor that could have helped me. Really? That’s called trashy customer service. That person who was supposed to call me did not call me. I then had to wait standing in the service center waiting for Nick. I had to drive back down there with my other car to get this completed. $249 diagnostic fee is a RIPOFF as well. And they did not add coolant like they were supposed to with the oil change (see photo). Will not be returning.

Nick Whitestone in service worked very hard to help my husband Pierce with a complex problem on our Expedition. One of the best efforts I have ever seen to provide great customer service.

This is a clean and orderly shop. However, the level of interest and support for electric vehicles is very low. While my car was in warranty I was repeatedly told there was no problem with the low level of charge in the battery. Now, I am told that this is a very serious problem, with a repair cost far exceeding the car's value. Very disappointing. I was going to buy a new Ford EV. Major second thoughts.

Honestly, you should probably avoid this place like the plague unless your car is under warranty. We brought our ford edge in for engine noise I thought was related to a failing belt, then they call me and say they “found” a critical issue with the flexplate that is a known issue with this model year. Charged me for diagnostics fee and 6 hrs more than the recommended labor hours… suppose to be 10.5 hr repair per ford recommendation , charged 16hr and said that ford undersells the repair time to avoid paying dealers. Then texts me that the tech finished the repair in less than 1.25 days…. 16 hrs is 2 full days last time i checked. Long story short I paid 4k only to get the car back with the same engine noise. They’re insane if they think I’ll bring it back for them to find more issues to charge me with. So again if you’re out of warranty go shop around for more than one opinion, preferably one that doesn’t have insane diagnostic fees.
