Airport Hwy Used Tires Introduce

Located at 1918 Airport Hwy, Toledo, OH 43609, USA, Airport Hwy Used Tires operates as a specialized auto parts store, focusing primarily on the sale of used tires. While the platform category is "Auto Repair Stations," this establishment's core offering is the provision of used tires, a specific segment within automotive components that caters to budget-conscious consumers or those seeking temporary tire solutions. They can be contacted by phone at (419) 973-5582 or mobile at +1 419-973-5582.

Environment and Facility

As a used tire retailer, the environment at Airport Hwy Used Tires would primarily consist of an inventory of pre-owned tires, likely stored both indoors and outdoors, organized by size and type. The nature of a used tire business implies a practical, no-frills setup focused on the efficient handling and storage of tires. While specific details about the aesthetics of their customer area or the overall tidiness are not provided, the operational focus would be on displaying and accessing their tire stock. Customers would likely visit to browse available used tires and have them installed on their vehicles. The fact that customers explicitly mention going to get their tires balanced elsewhere suggests that the facility might be geared solely towards tire sales and installation, rather than comprehensive tire services found at full-service tire shops.

Services and Goods for Sale

The primary service offered by Airport Hwy Used Tires is the sale of used tires. This includes a variety of sizes and types of pre-owned tires, catering to different vehicle models and customer budgets. Beyond just selling the tires, it is highly probable that they also offer:

  • Used Tire Sales: Their core business involves sourcing, inspecting (to some degree), and selling pre-owned tires. This provides an affordable option for vehicle owners who may not be able to afford brand new tires or are looking for temporary replacements.
  • Tire Installation: It is standard for a tire retailer, whether new or used, to offer installation services. This would involve mounting the purchased used tires onto the customer's vehicle.

However, it is crucial to note a significant point raised by customer feedback regarding services NOT offered:

  • Lack of Tire Balancing: Multiple customer reviews explicitly state that Airport Hwy Used Tires "Does not balance and does not own a balance machine." This is a critical piece of information for prospective customers, as tire balancing is a fundamental service usually offered by tire shops to ensure a smooth ride and even tire wear. Customers purchasing tires here will need to seek balancing services elsewhere, incurring additional time and cost.

This limitation shapes the customer experience significantly. While the initial purchase of used tires might seem cost-effective, the necessity of an additional stop and expense for balancing needs to be factored into the total cost and convenience.

Features and Customer Experience

The customer reviews paint a clear picture of the features and common customer experiences at Airport Hwy Used Tires, highlighting both perceived benefits and significant drawbacks:

  • Affordable Initial Tire Cost: The pricing structure appears to be budget-friendly, with one customer mentioning spending "$220 for 4 used tires" and another indicating "$40 a wheel." This affordability is the primary draw for customers to this establishment.
  • Lack of Balancing Service: This is the most prominent and negatively highlighted feature. The absence of a tire balancing machine and the service itself is "rare for a tire shop," as one customer points out. This means that after purchasing and installing tires, customers must immediately seek out another business for balancing, adding a separate step, time, and expense to their tire replacement process.
  • Misinformation Regarding Services (Alleged): One customer reported being told by the owner to "just go get an oil change and they do it for free" (referring to balancing), which was later found to be untrue. If accurate, this suggests a potential issue with transparent communication or an intentional misrepresentation of services, which can lead to customer frustration and a feeling of being misled.
  • No Warranty Implied for Used Tires: While not explicitly stated, the customer's comment "I could have put brand new tires for $100 more with a warranty" implies that the used tires purchased from Airport Hwy Used Tires likely do not come with a warranty. This is a common characteristic of used tire sales but is an important consideration for buyers regarding long-term reliability and protection.
  • Focus on Sales, Not Full Service: The business model seems to be exclusively focused on selling and installing used tires, rather than providing a comprehensive range of tire maintenance and repair services. This specialization impacts the overall convenience for the customer.
Promotional Information and Reputation

Without specific promotional advertisements, the reputation of Airport Hwy Used Tires is largely shaped by the direct experiences shared by customers. The reviews provided indicate a mixed, and in some cases, highly negative perception:

  • Negative Online Sentiment: The most recent reviews are overtly negative, with one customer wanting to give "zero star if I could." This severe dissatisfaction stems from the unstated additional costs and inconvenience associated with the lack of balancing services, and alleged misinformation. Such strong negative feedback can significantly deter potential new customers.
  • Value Proposition vs. Hidden Costs: While the initial cost of tires is low, the added expense and hassle of getting tires balanced elsewhere erode the perceived value. This forms a core part of the negative customer experience, as they feel they "waste money" after factoring in all costs.
  • Word-of-Mouth Impact: The explicit warnings from customers, such as "Don’t waste your money," are powerful deterrents through word-of-mouth or online reviews. This direct advice from previous customers heavily influences the reputation of the business in the local community.

In conclusion, Airport Hwy Used Tires in Toledo primarily offers used tires at competitive initial prices, making them an option for those on a tight budget. However, prospective customers must be fully aware that they do not provide tire balancing services and will need to arrange for this crucial service elsewhere, incurring additional costs and time. The business's reputation is significantly impacted by customer experiences highlighting this critical service gap and alleged misinformation. While the affordability of used tires may be a draw, customers should factor in all associated costs and inconveniences before making a purchase from this establishment.

Airport Hwy Used Tires Customer Reviews

I would give a zero star if I could. I went and spent 220$ for 4 used tires to turn around and go spend 60$ for the tires to be balanced. The owner said just go get an oil change and they do it for free. Well that’s not true. Don’t waste your money after everything I have spent I could have put brand new tires for 100$ more with a warranty.

$40 a wheel . Does not balance and does not own a balance machine *rare for a tire shop to not have one 🤔

Basically a father and son shop. But let me tell you, extremely happy with their customer service and quality of work. Had a nail in my tire in my Audi A6 on a Saturday afternoon. All high street shops were closed and I dreaded the worst until I found this gem. Nail removed and tire reflated in under 20 minutes. The cost??? Only 25!!! But I gave them a well deserved tip for their quality of work!!!

I gave this man 70 dollars for a used tire for his associate to cut the tire pressure sensor off the rim accidentally and .put it back on with wire. Two days later my tire is completely flat with a big split. The owner says someone came on my property in front of my cameras and sliced my tire without being seen. Anything to not admit you’re selling garbage that you stole off a junk car. If you need a tire to last you a wk or less shop here!!!! And no matter what happens to the tire it’s your fault. I will never return and recommend this to business to anybody.
