A&B Used tire Introduce

For individuals in Toledo, OH, seeking economical tire solutions, A&B Used Tire presents itself as an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in providing used tires and related services. Located at 2974 Airport Hwy, Toledo, OH 43609, USA, this establishment aims to cater to drivers looking for budget-friendly options for their vehicles. Customers can contact them by phone at (419) 870-0472 or via mobile at +1 419-870-0472. Information regarding their specific operating hours is not readily available, but most independent tire shops typically operate Monday through Saturday during standard business hours, generally closing on Sundays.

A&B Used Tire has a reputation for offering a wide selection of tires, as noted by one customer who stated, "Got lots of tires." This suggests that customers visiting the location will likely find a variety of sizes and types of used tires to choose from, which is a key advantage for those prioritizing affordability over brand new tires. However, customer experiences with A&B Used Tire appear to be varied, with feedback pointing to both strengths and significant areas for improvement in terms of customer service and pricing transparency.

Environment and Customer Experience

The customer experience at A&B Used Tire, based on available reviews, seems inconsistent. One positive review simply notes "good service prices not bad at all," suggesting that some customers find the service satisfactory and the pricing agreeable. This could indicate efficient tire mounting and a straightforward transaction for some.

However, a significant negative review paints a less favorable picture, describing the experience as highly unprofessional and frustrating. This customer reported a discrepancy between a quoted price over the phone ($60) and the price upon arrival ($90) for the same tire size. Furthermore, the customer experienced being pressured to "get a different size" tire. The reviewer explicitly characterized the individual as "very unprofessional, rude and I think he lives there," and declared, "I will never do business with this clown. He is the worst salesman ever." This review points to serious concerns regarding pricing transparency, sales tactics, and general customer interaction. The impression of the individual being "rude" and "unprofessional" suggests a potentially unwelcoming or confrontational environment for some customers. While some shops may have a more rustic or no-frills environment typical of used tire businesses, the critical element here is the interpersonal interaction. The phrase "I think he lives there" might suggest a cluttered or less organized physical environment, though this is an interpretation based on the customer's exasperation rather than a direct description of the premises.

Services Offered

As an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in used tires, A&B Used Tire's core services are centered around providing and installing pre-owned tires. Their primary offerings likely include:

  • Used Tire Sales: The main service, providing a variety of used tires for different vehicle types and sizes. The availability of "lots of tires" suggests a decent inventory for customers to choose from based on their budget and needs.

  • Tire Installation: Once a used tire is selected, the shop would perform the mounting and balancing of the tire onto the vehicle's wheel. This is a fundamental service for any tire provider.

  • Tire Repair: While not explicitly mentioned, most tire shops, especially those dealing with used tires, also offer basic tire repair services for punctures or minor damage, which can be a cost-effective alternative to replacement.

  • Wheel Balancing: Essential after tire installation or repair to ensure a smooth ride and prevent premature tire wear.

Given the nature of a used tire business, it's generally understood that the focus is on providing functional and affordable tires rather than extensive mechanical repairs or new tire sales with full manufacturer warranties. Customers visiting such a shop typically prioritize cost-effectiveness and quick replacement over premium brands or long-term guarantees associated with new tires.

Key Features and Differentiators

A&B Used Tire's key features and differentiators, within the "Auto Repair Stations" category specifically for tire services, include:

  • Focus on Affordability: The primary appeal is the provision of used tires, which are inherently more budget-friendly than new ones, catering to a specific market segment seeking lower costs.

  • Availability of Inventory: The comment "Got lots of tires" suggests a varied selection, which can be crucial for customers needing a specific size or type of used tire.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge areas of concern that act as counterpoints to these features, based on the negative feedback:

  • Inconsistent Pricing: The discrepancy between quoted and actual prices is a significant concern for transparency and customer trust.

  • Customer Service Issues: Accusations of unprofessionalism and rudeness in sales interactions are major drawbacks, potentially deterring repeat business.

  • Sales Tactics: The alleged attempt to push a different tire size indicates a potentially aggressive or unhelpful sales approach.

For potential customers, understanding these varied experiences is essential. While the low cost of used tires can be a strong draw, the quality of service and integrity of the pricing must also be considered.

Promotional Information

For A&B Used Tire, the primary "promotional" aspect is its offering of cost-effective used tires. For many customers, the appeal of a significantly lower price point for a functional tire outweighs other considerations. However, based on the reviews, the actual pricing and customer service experience can vary, which might impact the perceived value of these promotions.

Given the direct feedback regarding pricing discrepancies, potential customers are strongly advised to verify prices explicitly before visiting the shop and to clarify whether the quoted price includes mounting and balancing. It would be prudent to inquire about the exact tire size and condition and confirm the final price in writing, if possible, to avoid surprises. Since formal promotional campaigns are not indicated, the "promotion" for A&B Used Tire is simply its existence as a source for cheaper, used tires. Customers who prioritize the absolute lowest cost and are willing to navigate potentially challenging customer service interactions might find value here. However, those who prioritize transparency, professional sales interactions, and a consistent experience may need to manage their expectations or explore other options in the "Auto Repair Stations" category for tire services.

I stopped in here without any sort of appointment after going to a couple of the major tire stores, and this place is head and shoulders above the other places in town that I’ve dealt with. First of all, I just needed a valve stem repaired, but the big shops were trying to make me buy the $80 sensor that goes with it. If I’m going to spend $80, I might as well just get a new tire lol. Then proceeded to patch the hole that was going to take for free, and then he even offered to put the tire back on for me so I didn’t have to deal with it. I have very highly recommend this place, And any other shop in Toledo.
