1945 Speed and Custom Introduce
1945 Speed and Custom, located at 631 River St, Troy, NY 12180, USA, is a distinguished establishment operating within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, albeit with a highly specialized focus on classic car restoration, custom fabrication, and intricate automotive repairs that often go beyond standard mechanical work. This shop has garnered an exceptional reputation for its meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to perfection, particularly for unique and challenging automotive projects. You can contact 1945 Speed and Custom at (518) 595-3724 or via mobile at +1 518-595-3724.
The environment at 1945 Speed and Custom, while not explicitly detailed in terms of square footage or specific décor, is implied to be a workshop where precision and quality are paramount. Given the nature of custom fabrication and restoration work, the shop floor would likely be organized, clean, and equipped with specialized tools for welding, metalworking, upholstery, and various automotive repairs. The emphasis on "Perfection" and a "Pristine end result" suggests a highly disciplined workspace where attention to detail is paramount. For customers, the interaction environment is characterized by professionalism and approachability. The owner, Jeremy Baye, is described as a "cool guy who is nice and very knowledgeable," fostering a comfortable atmosphere for discussing complex automotive projects. This personal and knowledgeable approach creates an environment of trust and confidence, which is vital for customers entrusting their valuable or unique vehicles to a specialized shop.
The services offered by 1945 Speed and Custom extend far beyond typical auto repair. While they certainly address mechanical issues, their core expertise lies in specialized repairs, restoration, and custom fabrication. A prime example provided by a customer is the repair of a "twisted drivers seat" on a 1989 Fox body Mustang, a complex structural issue that even the original dealer failed to fix correctly. The shop not only "took the twist out of the seat pan" but also "made the seat pan stronger so it will never twist again." This demonstrates advanced metal fabrication skills, an understanding of automotive ergonomics, and a commitment to long-lasting solutions. Their services would therefore likely include: custom metal fabrication and welding, particularly for chassis, body, or interior components; automotive upholstery and interior restoration; classic car repair and restoration, often involving sourcing rare parts or fabricating custom ones; performance upgrades and tuning; and potentially general mechanical repairs for classic or custom vehicles where their specialized skills are required. The term "Speed and Custom" in their name further indicates a focus on performance enhancements and unique vehicle modifications, suggesting services like engine swaps, suspension tuning, and bespoke aesthetic work.
The distinguishing features of 1945 Speed and Custom are overwhelmingly positive and consistently highlighted by its clientele. The most prominent feature is the unparalleled expertise and skill of owner Jeremy Baye and his crew. Jeremy is described as "very knowledgeable" and "top notch," demonstrating a deep understanding of automotive mechanics and custom work. The ability to fix a problem that even a major dealership couldn't, and to do it with a "Pristine end result" that feels "just like factory," speaks volumes about their craftsmanship. Another critical feature is their unwavering commitment to "Honesty" and "Trust." In an industry where trust can sometimes be elusive, customers explicitly commend 1945 Speed and Custom for these qualities. The recurring themes of "Trust, Loyalty, Perfection, Honestly" underscore the shop's strong ethical foundation and customer-centric approach. They are also praised for being "reasonable" in pricing, which is a significant advantage given the specialized nature of their work. Furthermore, their responsiveness and willingness to "come thru in a pinch" demonstrate flexibility and dedication to customer needs. This combination of superior technical skill, ethical conduct, and excellent customer service sets them apart as "Best in the business."
Given the highly specialized nature of 1945 Speed and Custom, their promotional information would likely focus on showcasing their unique capabilities and the quality of their craftsmanship rather than broad discounts. While specific promotional campaigns are not mentioned in the provided text, their strongest form of promotion is undoubtedly word-of-mouth referrals from highly satisfied customers. Testimonials like those from Dave Barbier, an RA, NCARB, AIA, who provided detailed before-and-after photos and a glowing endorsement, serve as invaluable marketing. The emphasis on "Trust, Loyalty, Perfection, Honestly and a Pristine end result" forms the core of their ongoing promotional message, attracting customers who prioritize quality and specialized expertise for their vehicles. They might showcase their completed projects on social media platforms or their website, allowing potential clients to visually assess their work. For such a niche market, demonstrating past successes and the ability to solve complex problems that others cannot is the most effective form of promotion. Customers interested in their services are encouraged to contact them directly to discuss their specific project needs, view their portfolio, and inquire about quotes for custom work, as standard pricing models may not apply to bespoke fabrication and restoration.
In conclusion, 1945 Speed and Custom at 631 River St, Troy, NY, is a highly distinguished "Auto Repair Station" that excels in specialized automotive restoration, custom fabrication, and intricate repairs. Led by the highly knowledgeable and honest owner, Jeremy Baye, and his skilled crew, the shop delivers "Perfection" and "Pristine end results" for even the most challenging projects, as exemplified by the Mustang seat repair. Their commitment to "Trust, Loyalty, Perfection, Honestly" positions them as a top-tier choice for vehicle owners seeking unparalleled craftsmanship and reliable service for classic cars, custom builds, or complex repairs that demand exceptional attention to detail. For those in the Troy area and beyond who value expertise, integrity, and a truly custom approach to automotive care, 1945 Speed and Custom stands as an exemplary destination.

1945 Speed and Custom Customer Reviews
I have a 1989 Fox body Mustang which had the twisted drivers seat (the gangster lean). Hurts your back as you drive twisted in the seat. Years ago I went to Ford Motor company where I bought the 1989 Mustang new, figure they could fix it. Unfortunately I was very disappointed seat still had a twist in it and they never matched the piping color on the seat, had to still pay for it. I only speak the truth and I’m not trying to bash ford. In life anything bad you do shows anything good you do shows. Years went on and the twisted seat took the joy out of driving the car. I came a cross Jeremy Baye owner of 1945 Speed and Custom who recently fixed my drivers seat and took the twist out of the seat pan. Also made the seat pan stronger so it will never twist again. I have provide a before photo showing the twisted metal seat pan and the other photos showing the metal seat pan fixed by 1945 Speed and Custom. Now the seat feels just like factory when sitting in it. I only wish I knew about 1945 Speed and custom sooner. Jeremy was a cool guy who is nice and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend 1945 Speed and Custom to all. Trust, Loyalty, Perfection, Honestly and a Pristine end result is difficult to find in a company but you will find it all at 1945 Speed and Custom. Thank you to Jeremy and all his staff. Jeremy took excellent care of our ‘57 Chevy. He redid the suspension, brake lines, did an oil change, and inspection. The car rides great but even better was how excellent Jeremy was to work with. He kept us informed as he did the work, even texted pictures. We will definitely work with him again and highly recommend!

Jeremy is such a nice guy and was a real life-saver when my car broke down in Albany 3 hours from my house. He answered his phone after business hours and let me tow my car to his garage. He was communicative every step of the way and really made me feel like he cared about my situation and getting my car back to me. When he was finished, he was extremely understanding to the difficulties that i had getting back to him from Boston and went above and beyond to accomodate me. I can't thank him enough. If you want quality service, 1945 Speed and Custom wont let you down.
