A key aspect of Wawa's accessibility is its operating hours. Most Wawa locations, including those with gas stations, operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This round-the-clock availability is incredibly convenient for New Jersey drivers, allowing them to refuel or grab essentials at any time, whether it's early morning before a commute, late at night after work, or during weekend travels. The design of Wawa facilities typically includes ample parking and easy-to-navigate fuel islands, further enhancing the user experience.

Services Offered

Wawa is renowned for its comprehensive offerings that extend far beyond just gasoline, providing a diverse range of services to meet everyday needs.

  • Full-Service Fueling: In compliance with New Jersey state law, the Wawa gas station offers full-service fuel pumping. Attendants are on hand to pump your gas, a convenience that is a hallmark of the New Jersey driving experience. This service is provided at dedicated gas pump islands, often attended by staff in booths. Recent changes in payment policy mean customers now typically pay before the attendant begins fueling, regardless of whether they're paying with cash or card.
  • Extensive Coffee Bar: Wawa is famous for its wide selection of freshly brewed coffees, available day and night. Options typically include Regular, Decaf, Hazelnut, French Vanilla, 100% Colombian, Dark Roast, and Cuban blends. They also offer made-to-order lattes, smoothies, iced coffees, and frozen cappuccinos, with various flavor customization options.
  • Built-to-Order Fresh Food: A cornerstone of the Wawa experience is its made-to-order food menu, accessed via user-friendly touch-screen kiosks inside the store. Offerings include:
    • Hoagies: A vast selection of hot and cold hoagies, from classic Italian and Turkey to Meatball Parm, Philly-Style Cheesesteak, and seasonal favorites like "The Gobbler."
    • Breakfast Sandwiches (Sizzlis): Popular breakfast items like the Sizzli® with various combinations of sausage or bacon, egg, and cheese, as well as breakfast hoagies and burritos.
    • Freshly Made Salads & Bowls: Customizable salads with a choice of greens, dressings, cheese, and toppings, plus various bowl recipes including savory options.
    • Soups & Sides: A rotating selection of hot soups (like Chicken Noodle, Broccoli Cheddar, and often a popular Baked Potato soup), mac & cheese varieties, mashed potatoes, and more.
    • Dinner Items: Options such as pizza, burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and sides like garlic knots and fries.
    • Snack & Go Wraps: Perfect for on-the-go meals, offering quick, fresh bites.
  • Convenience Store Items: The expansive convenience store offers a wide array of products including packaged snacks, candy, beverages (Wawa's own branded iced tea and juices, as well as sodas, energy drinks, and more), dairy products, fresh baked goods, and essential grocery, health, and beauty items.
  • Surcharge-Free ATMs: Wawa locations often provide surcharge-free ATMs, a convenient financial service for customers.

Features / Highlights

Wawa's success and popularity stem from several key features that enhance the customer experience beyond basic gas station offerings.

  • One-Stop Shop Model: The seamless integration of a gas station with a full-service convenience store and fresh food deli is a major highlight. This allows customers to refuel, grab a meal, coffee, and other essentials all in one convenient stop, saving time and effort.
  • Touch-Screen Ordering System: Wawa was an early adopter of self-service computer touch-screen menus for food orders. This system is praised for improving order accuracy, speed, and allowing for easy customization of food items.
  • Fresh, Made-to-Order Food Quality: Despite being a convenience store, Wawa prides itself on "Built-to-Order®" fresh food. Customers often praise the quality and freshness of items like hoagies and coffee, making it a preferred alternative to traditional fast food.
  • Customer Service (Variable): While the overall Wawa experience is often positive, customer reviews suggest that the quality of customer service can be variable, particularly in the coffee section, with some instances of staff being perceived as less welcoming. However, Wawa generally aims for efficient and friendly service.
  • Brand Recognition & Loyalty: Wawa holds a strong brand identity and a loyal customer base, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic region. This loyalty is built on consistent offerings, convenience, and a perceived commitment to quality.
  • Dedicated Attendants for Fueling (NJ-Specific): The presence of gas attendants in booths specifically for pumping gas (as observed by a Pennsylvania customer) is a unique feature in New Jersey, ensuring adherence to state law and providing a distinctive full-service experience.

Promotions or Special Offers

Wawa offers a robust loyalty program and various promotions designed to reward its frequent customers.

  • Wawa Rewards Program: This free, app-based loyalty program allows members to earn points on purchases both in-store and when fueling up with the app. Customers earn 10 points per dollar spent on in-store purchases (when scanning the app or Apple Wallet or making mobile orders) and 5 points per gallon when activating the fuel pump and paying with the app.
  • Redeeming Rewards: Earned points can be redeemed for various Wawa favorites from the "Rewards Store," including discounts on fuel, free food items, and other merchandise. However, it's crucial for New Jersey residents to note a specific state regulation: rewards coupons, bonus offer coupons, points, or other offers cannot be redeemed on fuel transactions in New Jersey or where prohibited by state law. Points can still be earned on fuel transactions in NJ, but redemption for fuel discounts is restricted.
  • Exclusive Bonus Offers and Promotions: Throughout the year, Wawa Rewards members receive exclusive bonus offers and promotions directly through the app. These can include discounted items, buy-one-get-one offers, or special deals on specific food or beverage categories.
  • Birthday Offers: Wawa Rewards members who add their birthday to their profile may receive a surprise offer on their birthday.
  • Fuel Discounts: While direct redemption of fuel discounts is restricted in NJ, Wawa often runs promotions like "Fuel Deals" where specific Wawa Rewards members or payment methods can unlock savings at the pump in other states. For NJ, the focus is on earning points on fuel for in-store redemptions.

Customers are encouraged to download the Wawa App and sign up for Wawa Rewards to maximize their savings and access the latest promotions, keeping in mind the specific New Jersey regulations regarding fuel reward redemption.

Wawa Customer Reviews

The staff in the coffee section of the store are rude. I asked a young man to assist me in restocking the cappuccino and he acted as though he didn’t want to be bothered. Once he finally filled the machine I said thank you and he walked off with no response. If you are going to work with the public leave your personal feelings at home and provide good customer service. We all have to do things at times we don’t want to.

Good Evening Google Family. I ventured to the Wawa in Voorhees, after googling the nearest Wawa, after completing my Edge Fitness Club Workout, which is just down the street, not far at all, about 10 minutes away. I purchased a newspaper, apple slices and baked potato soup. I was pleasantly surprised to see the potato soup was available. Wawa does not always have the potato soup, which is my favorite soup. They always have the chicken noodle soup. I also asked for a banana and the young lady associate said that they were out of bananas and that they were getting in a shipment that night. When I went back out to the parking lot, I noticed a young guy in a booth near the gas pumps. I was wondering why they had booths there. Then it dawned on me it was because all of the gas stations pump your gas for you if you live in NEW Jersey. I live in Pennsylvania. We pump our own gas, and I like pumping my own gas. They also have some full service gas stations. I always make sure that I have enough gas when travelling to New Jersey so that I will not have to purchase gas when I go there. One reason why I do not want anyone pumping my gas is because when I was in Atlantic City, NJ and I stopped at a gas station, the attendant SLAMMED my gas door shut so hard and it broke. I had to buy a new gas door. So I will not allow any attendants to pump my gas anymore. I am not paying for another gas door and it was not cheap!!! I enjoyed my visit here nonetheless and I will return again. I like Voorhees!
