The intersection with Rehrersburg Road further enhances its accessibility, making it an easy-to-spot and straightforward destination for drivers.

Being situated at a prominent intersection in a rural setting means that the station is often a primary, if not the only, option for fuel and quick stops within a certain radius. Services Offered

Sunoco stations, including this location in Rehrersburg, typically provide a range of services designed to cater to the fundamental needs of motorists and local residents. While specific offerings can vary, the core services usually include:

  • Fueling Services: The primary service is dispensing various grades of gasoline, typically including regular, mid-grade, and premium options. Diesel fuel may also be available for diesel-powered vehicles.

  • Convenience Store: An on-site convenience store is a standard feature, offering a selection of commonly needed items. This often includes snacks, bottled beverages, coffee, and quick-grab food items. Essentials like automotive fluids, newspapers, and over-the-counter remedies might also be available.

Features / Highlights

Sunoco stations, including the Rehrersburg location, often possess specific features and highlights that are common to the brand's network, aiming to provide a consistent experience for customers.

  • Brand Recognition: Sunoco is a well-established and recognized fuel brand across the United States, including Pennsylvania. This brand recognition often provides a sense of familiarity and reliability for motorists, particularly those traveling through unfamiliar areas.

  • Top Tier Fuel: Sunoco is known for offering Top Tier gasoline. This designation means their fuel contains detergent additives that help clean engine deposits and protect fuel system components, which can contribute to better engine performance and longevity. For discerning drivers in Pennsylvania, this can be a significant advantage over non-Top Tier fuels.

  • Race Fuel Heritage: Sunoco has a strong historical association with motorsports, particularly NASCAR, providing race fuels for decades. While this doesn't directly impact the fuel quality at a retail pump, it contributes to the brand's image of performance and quality, which can be a point of pride or interest for automotive enthusiasts.

  • Standardized Offerings: While individual store layouts may vary, the general range of products and services in a Sunoco convenience store tends to be standardized, meaning customers can often anticipate what they will find, regardless of the specific location.

  • Roadside Accessibility: As highlighted by its location on a state route and at an intersection, the station is designed for easy access for drivers on the go, facilitating quick stops without significant detours. This is especially valuable in rural areas where gas stations may be spaced further apart.

These features contribute to Sunoco's role as a dependable fueling option and convenience stop for residents and travelers navigating the roadways of Pennsylvania.

This program often involves signing up for a card or using a mobile app to track purchases and redeem rewards. Benefits might include cents-off per gallon for every specified amount spent on fuel or in the convenience store.

  • Partnerships with Supermarket Loyalty Programs: In some regions, Sunoco partners with major supermarket chains’ loyalty programs. For instance, customers might earn points by shopping at a participating grocery store (like Giant or Weis in Pennsylvania) and then redeem those points for discounts on Sunoco fuel. This is a common and highly valued promotion for Pennsylvania residents who regularly shop at these grocery chains.

  • Credit Card Offers: Sunoco may offer co-branded credit cards or participate in credit card programs that provide fuel rebates or discounts when used at Sunoco stations. These are often geared towards regular customers looking for ongoing savings.

  • Promotional Campaigns: Periodically, Sunoco runs national or regional promotional campaigns, which could include limited-time discounts, sweepstakes, or special offers on specific products within the convenience store (e.g., buy one get one free on certain beverages or snacks).

Its suitability for locals is rooted in its strategic positioning and the essential services it provides, catering directly to the unique needs of a rural community.

Firstly, its location is paramount. In areas where service stations can be few and far between, having a reliable Sunoco at a key intersection like Route 419 and Rehrersburg Road means consistent access to fuel without needing to drive extended distances. This is crucial for daily commuters, farmers, and anyone dependent on their vehicle in a region where public transport options are limited. The attached convenience store, despite any noted experiences, remains a typical source for quick snacks, beverages, and basic necessities, which are often invaluable in areas with fewer retail options. For a local, this means a rapid stop for a forgotten item or a quick refreshment without needing to journey to a larger town.

Finally, and significantly, the potential for participation in valuable fuel rewards programs, particularly those linked with major Pennsylvania grocery chains, offers a tangible economic benefit for local households. For many Pennsylvanians, groceries and fuel are two of the largest recurring household expenses. The ability to earn fuel discounts through everyday grocery shopping provides a practical way for locals to save money, directly impacting their budget. This integration of essential services and cost-saving opportunities solidifies Sunoco's position as a suitable and beneficial establishment for the Rehrersburg community, serving as a dependable point for their automotive and immediate convenience needs in rural Pennsylvania.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

SO EXPENSIVE!! Everything is so much more expensive here than anywhere else!! The dark skinned, Arabic man was very rude! I stood at the counter for a while, waiting to check out. I even yelled out loud, "Hello, anyone here?? A man playing a poker machine said, "I think he's in the back. Finally, around 6 minutes later, a guy comes from the restroom. He cashes me out and says, " Is that your car?" I said, "yes". I was parked in front of the front window. I got in my car, was entering the GPS to get home when there was a pounding on my window, it scared me! I looked up, and he said YOU CAN'T PARK HERE!"" I said, "There's nobody here, I'm leaving! He started yelling at me, but I never put my window down because I was scared!! So I was leaving, and he was still yelling!! People are CRAZY! BE CAREFUL!!

Keep driving...you have been warned. Stood at the counter waiting for someone, finally said "excuse me". A guy appears with his cellphone tucked into his hoodie, just talking away. Says, "what do you need?". I asked for some scratch off tickets. Then asked about the chicken. That was totally ignored. He gave me the total for the scratch offs, and I asked again. He closed the register and looked at me. Finally, I said "I asked you a question. Twice! But you just enjoy your conversation" As I am walking away, then he starts...what can I help you with...ma'am...ma'am. Sorry buddy, you had a chance to provide good customer service. Will never stop again.

Fairly well start convenient store. With one bathroom that’s relatively clean. And coffee.

The Sunoco in Rehrersburg is a daily stop for me and my family. The owners and employees are incredibly kind and take the time to get to know their customers. If there is a product that I want and they don’t carry it in the store, they will accommodate my needs in their next order. There chicken sandwiches keep us coming back because they are absolutely delicious!! There are plenty of places to get gas and snacks/food, but this Sunoco goes the extra mile and it’s where I will continue to frequent!

Visited last week. Drove past there today to stop somewhere else. Gas pump doesn’t hold open. You have to hold nozzle entire time. Went to get coffee and milk and creamer both bad. No one was at counter, sitting in other room.
