The direct access from a major road typically allows for straightforward entry and exit from the property, accommodating various vehicle types efficiently. Services Offered

The Exxon at 299 W Lincoln Ave in Myerstown, PA, offers the standard services expected of a gas station, primarily focusing on fuel sales and an associated convenience store. Based on available public information, their core services include:

  • Fuel Sales:
    • Gasoline: This station offers various grades of Exxon's Synergy™ gasoline, typically including Regular (87 octane), Mid-grade (89 octane), and Premium (91-93 octane, Synergy Supreme+™). Exxon's Synergy fuels are marketed as having enhanced detergents to keep engines cleaner.
    • Diesel Fuel: Diesel is also available at this location, catering to diesel-powered passenger vehicles and commercial trucks.
  • Convenience Store: The on-site convenience store is designed for quick purchases and provides a range of products essential for drivers and travelers. This typically includes:
    • Snacks, candy, chips, and other grab-and-go food items.
    • A variety of beverages such as coffee, fountain drinks, bottled water, and energy drinks.
    • Tobacco products.
    • Basic automotive necessities like windshield wiper fluid or air fresheners.
    • Lottery tickets (common at Pennsylvania gas stations).
  • Restrooms: Public restrooms are available for customer use. However, it's important to note a specific customer review that states: "All gender neutral restrooms. None strictly for male or female." This is a key feature to be aware of regarding their facilities.
  • Propane Exchange: This location is listed as offering propane services, likely an exchange program for propane tanks used for grilling or other outdoor equipment.
  • Air Pump: An air pump is typically available for customers to check and adjust their tire pressure, contributing to vehicle safety and fuel efficiency.

It's important to reiterate the serious concern raised by customer reviews regarding fuel quality. Multiple reviews specifically mention "water in their underground tanks" and "bacteria in their diesel fuel," leading to vehicle issues. While these are serious allegations, they are directly from customer feedback and should be noted by potential users. The general services are typical of an Exxon station, but the reported fuel issues are a significant consideration for local Pennsylvanians.

Features / Highlights

The Exxon at 299 W Lincoln Ave in Myerstown, PA, presents a mix of standard gas station features, alongside some notable customer feedback that serves as a critical highlight for prospective users:

  • Brand Recognition: As an Exxon-branded station, it carries the recognition and assumed quality associated with a major national fuel provider, which can offer a sense of reliability for many drivers. This includes access to Synergy™ fuels.
  • Convenient Location on Major Road: Its placement directly on West Lincoln Avenue (US-422) ensures easy access for local Myerstown residents and those traveling through the area. This strategic location is beneficial for quick and efficient stops.
  • Standard Convenience Store Offerings: The presence of a typical convenience store allows customers to quickly purchase snacks, beverages, and other common on-the-go items alongside their fuel needs.
  • Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ Program: Customers can participate in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ loyalty program, earning points on fuel, convenience store purchases, and potentially car washes (though a car wash is not specifically listed for this location). This program offers savings on future purchases.
  • All-Gender Restrooms: A specific feature highlighted in a review is the presence of "all gender neutral restrooms." This is a modern approach to restroom facilities, and while it might be a preference for some, it is a significant change from traditional male/female restrooms that users should be aware of.

However, it is paramount to include the following critical customer feedback as a major highlight/consideration:

  • Reported Fuel Quality Issues: Multiple severe customer reviews strongly advise against fueling here due to alleged "water in their underground tanks" and "bacteria in their diesel fuel." One customer explicitly stated their "Vehicle died a few miles after leaving" and that the "Dealership verified water in fuel," with no reimbursement from the station. This is a very serious concern that directly impacts the primary service of a gas station and should be a top consideration for any potential customer.
  • Customer Service Concerns Regarding Fuel Issues: The review also notes, "They did not even reimburse the fuel much less garage repair bill. They also sometimes have bacteria in their diesel fuel. Long story short, spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Their customers mean nothing to them." This highlights a significant negative experience with customer service concerning critical product quality.

Given the severity of the fuel quality allegations and associated customer service issues, while the station offers standard amenities, these reported problems with its core product (fuel) are the most important "features" for potential customers to consider.

Promotions or Special Offers

As an Exxon-branded station, the location at 299 W Lincoln Ave in Myerstown, PA, participates in the brand's national loyalty program: Exxon Mobil Rewards+™. This program is the primary way customers can access promotions and savings.

Key aspects of the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ program and potential offers include:

  • Earn Points on Fuel Purchases: Members typically earn at least 3¢ per gallon in points on regular Synergy™ gasoline and 6¢ per gallon in points on Synergy Supreme+™ premium gasoline. These points accumulate with every fill-up.
  • Earn Points on In-Store Purchases: Customers also earn points on qualifying convenience store purchases (usually 2¢ per dollar spent on snacks, drinks, etc., excluding items like tobacco, lottery, gift cards, and milk in PA).
  • Redeem Points for Savings: Points can be redeemed for savings at the pump or inside the convenience store. Every 100 points translate to $1 in savings.
  • Mobile Pay and App Benefits: The Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app allows for convenient mobile payment at the pump and inside the store, and members can automatically earn points when paying with the app. New app users or those who link their accounts might receive bonus points.
  • Bonus Offers and Tiered Rewards: Members may receive special bonus point offers throughout the year. There are also potential bonus points for AARP members and "Frequent Filler" members (e.g., earning more points per gallon after filling up a certain volume in a month).
  • Birthday Gift: Loyal members often receive a special birthday gift, such as bonus points, during their birthday month.

While the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ program offers a straightforward way to save, prospective customers in Myerstown are strongly advised to weigh these potential savings against the serious customer reviews regarding fuel quality issues at this specific location. The value of loyalty points may be diminished if the core product (fuel) is perceived to be compromised. For the most current promotions and to sign up for the rewards program, customers can visit the official Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ website or download the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ app. However, caution is advised given the reported experiences.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

The Exxon at 299 W Lincoln Ave in Myerstown, PA, presents itself as a conveniently located gas station offering standard fuel services and a convenience store for local Pennsylvanians. Its position on a main thoroughfare (US-422) certainly offers ease of access for daily commuters and travelers passing through Myerstown. The availability of various fuel grades, combined with a typical selection of snacks and beverages in the associated convenience store, means it can serve as a quick stop for basic needs. The participation in the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ program also offers a clear incentive for loyalty, allowing customers to earn points and save on future purchases, which is a common draw for many drivers.

However, it is crucial for local Pennsylvanians to approach this specific Exxon location with a full awareness of the significant concerns raised by multiple customer reviews. The severe allegations of "water in their underground tanks" and "bacteria in their diesel fuel," leading to vehicle damage and a lack of reimbursement, are paramount. While its convenient location and typical offerings might seem appealing, the primary function of a gas station is to provide clean, reliable fuel. These reports directly challenge that fundamental expectation and should be the overriding factor in a local user's decision-making process. The shift to all-gender restrooms is also a notable change that some users may appreciate or prefer to avoid.

Ultimately, while the location offers convenience and brand recognition, the consistent and serious nature of the negative feedback regarding fuel quality necessitates caution. For local Pennsylvanians, the suitability of this Exxon will heavily depend on their willingness to overlook these reported issues in favor of its accessibility and convenience store options. It is advisable for local users to consider their priorities carefully and perhaps explore alternative fueling stations in the area, or at the very least, be highly vigilant if choosing to fuel at this particular Exxon.

STAY AWAY!!! They sometimes get water in their undergound tanks and they do not stand good for it. Vehicle died a few miles after leaving. Dealership verified water in fuel. They did not even reimburse the fuel much less garage repair bill. They also sometimes have bacteria in their diesel fuel. Long story short, spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Their customers mean nothing to them.

Not a good place for fuel...pumps don't always shut off on there own

Bad fuel! This is a small portion of the 10 gallons of fuel I had siphoned out of my vehicle after getting bad premium gas at this station on 12/21/23 on pump 7. After leaving the pump my vehicle started shaking and I knew something was wrong. After siphoning the gas out it runs fine. Thankfully no further damage was done to my engine that I know of. Exxon and TopStar were zero help and said (2 weeks after the fact) that they found no evidence that the fuel was bad and they will not reimburse me for the fuel purchase. Avoid this place.
