My 2016 Malibu had a piece of trim at the top of the drivers door that would catch on a piece of trim between front and rear doors. This was a Manufacturers defect that has occurred since I bought the car (used with 19,000 miles on it). I had previously pushed the door trim in with a rubber mallet and repaired the trim between the doors so that you could not even see it and the door no longer caught when opening/closing. Several months later my son hit a deer and did damage to the front drivers fender, headlight, hood, door. When he went to open the door after the accident, it once again got caught on the piece of trim the way it did before I repaired it. We literally had to force the door open because the molding was caught on the trim piece. In getting the door open I bent the piece of trim that I had previously repaired. It was obvious that the door was sprung and slightly out of whack which caused the trim pieces to once again catch preventing the door from opening freely. This information was relayed to Youngs however they refused to include this in the warranty repair claiming it was a known Chevy issue that was outside the recall period. Youngs had no problem charging me $5,000 to fix the damage from the deer but they would not touch the piece of trim that was 'pre-existing'. 1) If it's a 'known Chevy issue' how about standing behind your product and fixing the 'known issue'. 2) I had previously addressed the issue and fixed the molding. Things were fine until the accident so why would that not be covered? 3) Just another example of a business doing the bare minimum. Lesson learned, will not use them again.
