Walmart Auto Care Centers

I’ve been using Walmart auto centers for a few years now for their tire service. I’m new to the area and called the Newport location to make an appointment to rotate and balance my tires. I was told to bring the car in as they had no appointments until 5:30pm. I arrived at 1:00pm and was told the wait would be 2-3 hours until they got to my car. I asked if I could make an appointment for the following day which the employee made for 8am. The next morning I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment. When the employees were checking me in they told me they don’t do appointments for tire rotation and that my appointment would be voided. I explained why I made an appointment but was told Walmart doesn’t allow appointments for tire rotations (probably due to the fact the rotation is free when you buy the tires directly from Walmart, so Walmart doesn’t care because they aren’t making any money). I was told there were two cars ahead of me and they only had two mechanics. The employee said it could be a minimum of an hour before they got to my car. I’m not one to usually leave reviews, but it’s the principle of the situation. If I make an appointment I expect to be seen at the scheduled time. I can understand waiting an additional 15-20 minutes from the scheduled time, but an hour or more is ridiculous. I will not be using Walmart auto centers in the future. Just like the countless other one star reviews make sure you take your business elsewhere because it seems like this has been a problem for years and corporate DOES NOT CARE.

I came to this place to relax and get to know my car. I asked for an oil change and I went to Walmart. It turns out they only had 2 cars and the gentleman told us that the wait was 3 hours and yes, I waited 3:30 for an oil change. I think I should check because nowhere else does it take that long. To me, they are lazy, they don't want to work and since there is no other place, the customer suffers from the wait. Walmart 1075 Cosby hwy Newport TN .

The worst experience I have ever had. First of all they ignored me for 20 minutes then rudely asked me what I needed. They finally pulled my car into the shop then refused to exchange my tires and used reasons that had nothing to do with the tires. Go to Stranges auto shop Llc instead.

Alots wrong here. To start none of the tires advertised online are available in store. Only certain brands they carry. Then there is only 2 mechanics and one car and I'm told they are too busy to replace my tire today. The guy inside at the register was nice and tried to help but the mechanics dont care to work. Never coming back to this Walmart again

This auto center needs to get it together. How do you not have oil or the filter. I have a pretty common car. What’s the point in setting an appointment and putting in your car info if their gonna wait until you get out of the car and get in the store to cancel your appointment and tell you that they should know in advance what they need when they schedule an appointment. Come on Walmart get it together.

One of my worst experiences within a Walmart or auto place period. As soon as I pulled up I was met with a little old man that had no clue what I was talking about when I tried to do exactly as the app told me no big deal except he was rude as could be and acted like I was plum ignorant talked over me and ignored or couldn’t hear half of what I said. After this sour encounter I left my car to be fixed. I paid ahead of time and had an appointment at 9:00 am which I was right on time for and needed 4 tires and all of them installed. It took 2 hours and 45 mins for a job I was told and know should take one hour if not less in a shop. I looked through the window and saw my car not being worked on or touched for about 30 mins straight and when I finally asked it was magically instantly ready. It was obvious they had been done with my car and let it sit there without notifying me. I arrived at 9:00 am and one car was there before me however I watched 3 people get their cars back before me that had arrived after me and I had a scheduled appointment. When confronting them about it taking longer then it should and it sitting untouched was “a mechanic left the torque wrench in another vehicle and we had to wait for another customer to bring it back” WHAT that’s an outrageous excuse honestly first of all why was I not notified of this mistake and told it would take significantly longer, how did they fix the other cars tires which I watched them do in the window if they couldn’t do mine, why are the mechanics allowed to leave expensive equipment in a customers car and just have a giggle about it at another customers expense instead of being reprimanded? Why would the whole shop that can hold about 8 cars only have one torque wrench? It is obvious this was done intentionally and they saw I had my 1 year old son sitting and waiting with me. That’s ridiculous 3 hours for a tire change?????? Then when confronted I was given an absolutely absurd explanation and frankly I wish I wasn’t so nice about it, I think I deserve a partial refund on the installation charges.

Do not go there. These people are super slow. Waited over 2 1/2 hours for them to tell me they couldn't find the leak. Went to Tire Discounters the next morning. They found the leak and patched it within half an hour. Very professional and excellent customer service at Tire Discounters in Newport.

So I show up to the auto center with a nail in my tire that has road hazard protection on it. The man checking people in takes one look at my tire and says nope our machine won't do that tire yet it was put on there . I call the Walmart in Morristown near the mall and those guys had me in and out in no time. Newport do better .
