Three days went by before they finally called me to only to inform me of an “undetected” engine issue they failed to see initially. Shockingly, rather than fixing my car, they tried to pawn off another vehicle, which turned out to be a lemon—a blatant attempt to sweep their oversight under the rug and offload more problems onto me. The communication was nothing short of a catastrophe. After days of waiting for calls that never came, In sheer disbelief, I asked for at least half of my hard-earned money back, a request met with ongoing silence and no action. Ultimately left with no car and no resolution from Tuffy, I had to tow my beloved truck away, disheartened and significantly lighter in my wallet. I urge anyone considering auto services at Tuffy to think very carefully and consider this cautionary tale. The disappointment and financial hit were real, and I hope to spare others from similar distress. Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read and heed this warning.

Unfortunately my brakes went out before my parts arrived to fix them myself, so I had my car towed to Tuffys for repair, which is kiddy corner to the Discount Tire off Bloomingdale rd. Jason is very nice, personable and attentative. Their prices are competitive with other local shops. I explained the situation and he assured me, he'll do a good look over to make sure there aren't any other issues aside from what I currently had going on, so that gave me a piece of mind. They had all the parts they needed to replace brake pads and rotors for front and rear and replaced the rear calipers. This job could have been done same day except my insurance company left me stranded for over 5 hours, so I didn't make it to the shop until they were about to close. My car went up on the lift that evening then and they finished it late morning the next day. I was at work that day, so I simply paid over the phone, and went to get the car with my fiance after work. They charged 350/axle for parts and labor, just under 100 to bleed the system and replace with brand new fluid, and whatever shop fees ontop of that and of course, taxes. Jason did mention a life time warranty on the brakes. Vehicle repair is just expensive in general, so I feel like I'd be way more in the hole if I went else where. Overall, super happy with my experience, the customer service, and turn around time. I would return here for future services. Apparently they offer financing too, but I did not need to finance, so I cannot speak on the details of what they offer. On the ride home, I kept the air and radio off to be able to listen to the car, and it braked smoothly and beautifully and zero noise. Thanks to Jason and his team for getting me back safely on the road :) Edit 12/10/24: My brakes started making a growling noise again in the rears, which were repaired just last year. I called and they said I am within warranty to come on in. For some reason my pads completely faded in the back again so pads and rotors were replaced at no cost to me. They made some suggestions as to what they believe could be causing the pads to fade quickly, so I'm looking into that now. Good shop.

Emission test miracles performed at Tuffy! My van would not pass and could not get a waiver even though another shop met the waiver requirements. I was running out of options, but I found Tuffy on the Air Team website as a registered repair shop with a 100% pass record. The owner Ron said he would do his best to get my van back on the road without my putting thousands more into my 2005 Chevrolet, and he did!! I can't say enough about their outstanding customer service. If you have emission test problems (and I had a whopper) see Ron and his wonderful team!
