Located at 5818 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH 45459, USA, Torx Racing operates as an "Auto Repair Station" with a distinct specialization in high-performance automotive and watercraft parts and services. While its categorization might suggest a general auto repair shop, Torx Racing's primary focus, based on available information, leans heavily into the performance segment, particularly concerning engine control unit (ECU) tuning and specialized aftermarket components. Customers can reach them at (855) 252-9253 or via mobile at +1 855-252-9253 for inquiries.
The environment at Torx Racing, as inferred from its specialized services, would likely be a workshop or facility geared towards precision work on high-performance vehicles and watercraft. This often entails a clean, organized space equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, tuning equipment, and specialized machinery for handling performance parts. Given its focus on "racing" and "performance," the ambiance might appeal to enthusiasts, potentially showcasing custom builds or high-performance components. However, customer reviews provide a stark contrast to a typically positive environment, highlighting significant issues that impact the customer experience. The reviews describe a situation where communication breaks down, and services, particularly concerning ECUs, are mishandled. This suggests that while the physical setup might be designed for technical work, the operational environment, especially regarding customer service and process management, may be severely lacking, creating a frustrating and negative experience for clients.
Torx Racing's services are primarily focused on performance upgrades and tuning, especially for watercraft, but also implying general automotive performance. Key services and products, based on their online presence and the nature of the customer complaints, include:
- ECU Reflashing/Tuning: This is a core service, where customers send in their vehicle's (or watercraft's) ECU for software modification to enhance performance (e.g., increased horsepower, torque, higher rev limit, improved fuel economy). The customer reviews specifically mention issues with this service, highlighting misplacement and incorrect units being returned.
- Performance Parts Manufacturing and Sales: Torx Racing states that they are "premier manufacturers of performance watercraft parts." This indicates that they design, produce, and sell specialized components aimed at enhancing the speed, power, and overall performance of personal watercraft (PWC) like Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda Aquatrax. Their website lists products such as performance kits, billet engine mounts, urethane/polyurethane components, and various engine tuning accessories like injectors. While their primary focus appears to be watercraft, the general "Auto Repair Stations" category suggests they might also offer performance solutions for cars and trucks.
- Technical Support and Consultation: As a specialist in performance, they would typically offer expert advice and support for customers looking to optimize their vehicles for racing or enhanced recreational use. However, the customer reviews contradict this, reporting "terrible" phone service and ignored calls.
These services cater to a niche market of enthusiasts and professional racers seeking to push the boundaries of their vehicle's capabilities. The quality and precision of these services are paramount for performance gains and vehicle reliability.
The defining features of Torx Racing, unfortunately, are largely overshadowed by severe negative customer experiences as described in the provided reviews. While their website promotes being a "premier manufacturer of performance watercraft parts" and having been "founded in 2010" with a focus on "great product at the best price," the reality presented by customers paints a very different picture. The most critical feature highlighted by the reviews is a significant lack of reliable service and questionable business practices. Key issues include:
- Mishandling of Customer Property: A customer explicitly states, "I been dealing with an ECU that they misplaced and completely sent me a different/wrong one. They kept my original one that was sent in for a simply reflash." This indicates a fundamental failure in inventory management and care for customer-sent parts.
- Deceptive Communication: The customer review details repeated instances of dishonesty: "He lied to me over and over about sending it and finally after many ignored calls and weeks later he finally sends me the SAME WRONG ONE back." This directly impacts trust and credibility.
- Poor Customer Service and Communication: The reviews repeatedly mention "terrible" service from "Matthew on the phone," "ignored calls," and a complete inability to resolve issues over an extended period ("This happened in the beginning of 2024, it is now December 2024."). This lack of responsiveness and accountability is a critical failing.
- Product Quality Issues (Indirectly): While the website promotes "great product," the delivery of a "wrong ECU" with "no labels on it and different hours/VIN" indicates a severe quality control problem in the service provided, leading to a customer being "stuck with a wrong ECU."
These features, as reported by customers, suggest that despite any potential technical expertise, the operational aspects of the business, particularly customer relations and service fulfillment, are a significant detriment. The "website is nice," as one review notes, but this facade does not reflect the reported service quality.
Regarding promotional information, Torx Racing's website generally promotes its products and services as "great product at the best price," and mentions "affordable dealer pricing (20-35% off Retail)" for aspiring shops, along with a "Life-Time Warranty on all Torx Racing products." They also highlight a "consistently growing product line" and "drop shipping available." Specific examples of retail customer promotions are not readily apparent from the provided information, but a performance-oriented business might offer:
- Introductory Discounts: For new customers or on new product lines.
- Package Deals: Bundling ECU tunes with specific performance parts.
- Seasonal Sales: Aligning with racing seasons or holidays.
- Warranty: As mentioned, a "Life-Time Warranty on all Torx Racing products" would be a significant promotional feature, if honored.
However, it is crucial to note that the effectiveness of any promotional claims, especially concerning warranties or product quality, is severely undermined by the highly negative customer feedback. The reviews explicitly warn potential customers to "Avoid this website at all cost. Worst experience and will take your money." This direct warning about unfulfilled promises and financial loss far outweighs any theoretical promotional offers or claims made by the company itself. The core "promotion" for any business is customer satisfaction and reliable service, and in this instance, the customer reviews suggest a complete failure on this front, making any other promotional efforts moot for those who encounter such experiences.
In summary, Torx Racing at 5818 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH, is an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in performance parts manufacturing and ECU reflashing, primarily for watercraft. While it purports to offer high-quality products and services for performance enthusiasts, the overwhelming customer feedback indicates severe and persistent issues with service reliability, communication, and basic business integrity. Customers report misplacing of original parts, sending incorrect replacements, repeated lying, ignored communications, and ultimately, unresolved problems spanning many months. Therefore, based on the objective information from real customer reviews, potential customers are advised to approach this business with extreme caution, as the reported negative experiences cast significant doubt on the reliability of its services and the trustworthiness of its operations, despite any stated promotional benefits or product claims.

Avoid this website at all cost. Worst experience and will take your money. Website is nice, but service and Matthew on the phone is terrible. This place is a SCAM. I should have done more research before attempting to get an ecu from them. All of the terrible reviews are true. I sent out my ecu for them to copy and they sent me back an unmarked ecu that did not work. After talking having to call them every other day for 4 months and 5 different ecus i got my money back but not my original ecu. So i have nothing to work with and Matt from trox is ignoring all my calls. Not sure if this is a real company but i wouldnt recommend buying anything from them.

This guy Matt is a thief, I got an ECU from him and didn't work from the beginning, he replaced that one with another one and the same thing happened, I requested a refund around 4 o 5 months and this guy never send me the money back, at the beginning he was answering my calls and giving any excuses about the delay, now he doesn't answer the phone, text messages or emails, I live in Florida and there's no way that I can see him in person to claim my money, $712.00, don't buy anything here he is a THIEF!!!!!

Do not buy from this site! They will advertise a part even though they don't have it. Terrible customer service and no communication. If you search you'll see the many complaints this company has received to the point that it has been named a scam site on popular PWC forums.
