The Spare Parts Company Introduce
Within the diverse landscape of Auto Repair Stations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Spare Parts Company, located at 406 Vine St, occupies a distinctive niche by specializing in the repair and service of motorcycles, particularly European models. Unlike many auto repair shops that focus primarily on cars and trucks, The Spare Parts Company caters to motorcycle enthusiasts and owners who require specialized knowledge and care for their bikes. They can be reached at (215) 922-2214 or via mobile at +1 215-922-2214.
Based on the available customer reviews, The Spare Parts Company, seemingly run by an individual named Roland, has garnered a reputation for exceptional customer care and expertise in motorcycle repair. One reviewer explicitly advises to "Believe the hype," indicating that the positive feedback surrounding this establishment is well-founded. This suggests that The Spare Parts Company prioritizes customer satisfaction and strives to provide a high level of service.
A key feature highlighted in the reviews is Roland's dedication to his customers and their motorcycles. The reviewer notes that Roland "takes incredible care of his customers and more importantly their bikes." This implies a personal touch and a genuine concern for the well-being of the motorcycles entrusted to his care. Such dedication can be particularly reassuring for owners of specialized or older motorcycles who may have faced challenges finding competent service elsewhere.
The mention of a "solid network of parts suppliers" is also significant. For specialized vehicles like European motorcycles, sourcing the correct parts can sometimes be challenging. Roland's established network suggests that The Spare Parts Company has reliable access to the necessary components for various makes and models, ensuring efficient and effective repairs.
Furthermore, the positive review praises Roland's communication skills, stating that he "does a great job communicating." Clear and timely communication is crucial in any repair service, as it keeps customers informed about the progress of their service, any potential issues encountered, and the overall plan for addressing them. This transparency can build trust and enhance the customer experience.
The second customer review provides a specific example of the service provided. The customer brought in a 2000 BMW K1200LT trike for an oil change, tail light lens repair, and windscreen installation. Notably, the customer had been turned away by a BMW dealer in Manyunk due to the bike being over 10 years old. This highlights a potential specialization of The Spare Parts Company in servicing older or less common European motorcycles that other shops might be unwilling or unable to handle.
The review describes Roland as "easy going" and notes that he provided an appointment "with no issues," indicating a customer-friendly and accommodating approach. A particularly interesting detail is that the work had to be done on the sidewalk because the bike wouldn't fit in his shop. While this suggests a potentially small or uniquely configured workspace, the reviewer emphasizes that "The work was done with care and professionalism" despite this unusual circumstance. This speaks to Roland's adaptability and commitment to quality, even when faced with logistical challenges.
The customer explicitly states that this was their first service at The Spare Parts Company but concludes by saying, "I would highly recommend him for Euro bike repair and service in the future." This strong recommendation, based on a positive first-time experience, further reinforces the positive reputation suggested by the first review.
Based on these reviews, the environment of The Spare Parts Company might be characterized as a smaller, perhaps more specialized workshop where personalized attention and expertise in European motorcycles are paramount. The need to perform a service on the sidewalk suggests that the physical space might be limited in size but not necessarily in capability or the quality of service provided.
The services offered by The Spare Parts Company, as evidenced by the reviews, include:
- Motorcycle Oil Changes: Routine maintenance essential for engine health.
- Tail Light Lens Repair: Addressing damage to lighting components for safety and compliance.
- Windscreen Installation: Replacing or installing windscreens for rider comfort and protection.
- European Motorcycle Repair and Service: General repairs and maintenance specifically for European makes and models, including older bikes that other shops may decline.
The key features of The Spare Parts Company appear to be:
- Specialization in European Motorcycles: Catering to a niche market requiring specific knowledge and parts.
- Exceptional Customer Care: Roland's dedication to his customers and their bikes.
- Reliable Parts Sourcing: A solid network of suppliers for European motorcycle components.
- Good Communication: Keeping customers informed throughout the service process.
- Willingness to Work on Older Models: Servicing bikes that some dealerships might not handle.
- Professionalism and Care: Ensuring quality workmanship even in challenging circumstances.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for The Spare Parts Company. Given its apparent focus on specialized service and personalized care, their business model might rely more on word-of-mouth referrals and a strong reputation within the European motorcycle community in Philadelphia rather than broad promotional campaigns. Local users with European motorcycles seeking reliable and expert service are encouraged to contact them directly for inquiries or to schedule an appointment.
In conclusion, The Spare Parts Company in Philadelphia stands out within the Auto Repair Stations category as a specialist in European motorcycle repair and service. Headed by Roland, the company is praised for its exceptional customer care, expertise in handling even older models, a reliable network for sourcing parts, and clear communication. Despite potential limitations in physical workspace, the quality of service and professionalism appear to be consistently high, making The Spare Parts Company a highly recommended option for European motorcycle owners in the Philadelphia area.

Brought my 2000 K1200LT trike for an oil change, tail light lens repair and windscreen install. The BMW dealer, in Manyunk, had told me they don't work on bikes over 10 years old. Roland was easy going and gave me an appointment with no issues. He had to do the work on the sidewalk since my bike wouldn't fit in his shop. The work was done with care and professionalism. This was my first service at this shop but I would highly recommend him for Euro bike repair and service in the future.

Rolland got my Moto Guzzi back to 100% working order within a day after sitting unused for some time! He is reasonable priced, knowledgeable, and a good business person.

I've taken my 2013 Moto Guzzi to Spare Parts 6 or 7 times by now, for mostly routine maintenance and a few other minor things. Roland is personable, accommodating, on-time, and his work has always been good. Highly recommended!

Roland and the team are dedicated to providing stellar service at reasonable rates. Roland went above and beyond to keep my Guzzi on the road, and was always supportive when I wanted to turn a wrench myself. He’s mastered the art and science of working on Guzzis (and other foreign makes), which is evident in the passion he demonstrates in his craft.
