**The Oil Change Field**, located at **18990 Greenfield Rd, Detroit, MI 48235, USA**, operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category, specializing in routine vehicle maintenance, particularly oil changes. They can be reached by phone at **(313) 493-5100** or via mobile at **+1 313-493-5100**. For local users in Detroit considering this establishment for their vehicle's service needs, it is important to understand the diverse experiences shared by past customers, which highlight both positive aspects and significant concerns regarding service quality.

Regarding the environment at The Oil Change Field, typical for an "Auto Repair Stations" focused on express services like oil changes, the setup would likely prioritize efficiency and customer throughput. This would involve a quick-lube bay system where vehicles can be serviced promptly. The waiting area, if present, would likely be functional rather than luxurious, designed for short waits while routine maintenance is performed. The focus is generally on getting customers in and out efficiently. The customer reviews, though contrasting in sentiment, do not provide specific details about the physical appearance or comfort of the premises. Instead, they center on the service interaction and the outcome of the work performed. An efficient shop environment would have clear signage, organized tools, and a streamlined process for accepting vehicles, performing service, and completing transactions.

As its name suggests, **The Oil Change Field** primarily offers **oil change services**. This core offering typically includes draining old engine oil, replacing it with new oil, and changing the oil filter. As an "Auto Repair Stations" that focuses on this fundamental maintenance task, they would also likely offer related basic vehicle checks, such as fluid level inspections (e.g., windshield wiper fluid, power steering fluid), tire pressure checks, and possibly visual inspections of belts and hoses. One customer's experience, which involved being "informed of on what was needed," suggests that they might also offer advice on other necessary vehicle maintenance or repairs beyond just the oil change. However, the most critical aspect of their service, as revealed by a negative review, is the proper selection and installation of parts, specifically oil filters. The incident of installing an incorrect oil filter (for a Nissan on a Volkswagen) highlights a potential risk in their service execution that could lead to severe engine damage if not rectified promptly. This indicates that while their primary service is clear, the precision and correctness of parts used are paramount.

The features of The Oil Change Field, as evidenced by the contrasting customer reviews, present a dual narrative. On the positive side, one customer highlights that the staff was "very HELPFUL" and that the "SERVICE WAS REAL," leading them to become a "Genuine Customer" who will "come back and send people." This suggests a friendly, communicative, and seemingly honest approach to service for some customers. The ability to inform customers "on what was needed" indicates a level of transparency in their diagnostics or recommendations. Such positive interactions can foster loyalty and build a strong customer base. However, a highly concerning feature brought to light by another review is the **potential for critical errors in parts installation**. The incident of installing an incorrect oil filter, which could have led to a "blown engine," is a severe safety and quality control issue. This implies a lack of proper checks or expertise in matching parts to specific vehicle models. The fact that the problem was only discovered by the customer's personal mechanic later underscores a deficiency in their internal quality assurance. This significant discrepancy in customer experience, ranging from highly satisfied to deeply concerned about potential engine damage, is a critical feature for potential customers to consider. It points to an inconsistency in service quality that cannot be overlooked, despite positive interactions some customers may have had.

Specific promotional information for The Oil Change Field is not provided in the given data. The customer reviews do not mention any special discounts, loyalty programs, or advertising campaigns. For businesses in the "Auto Repair Stations" category, especially those specializing in routine services like oil changes, promotions often include discounted first-time visits, bundled service packages, or seasonal offers. However, in the absence of such explicit information, the primary "promotional" aspect of this business, as conveyed by the reviews, is derived from the actual customer experiences. On one hand, the positive review acts as a strong endorsement, indicating that some customers find the service helpful and worth returning for. This type of word-of-mouth referral is a powerful form of promotion. On the other hand, the highly critical review, detailing a potentially catastrophic error, serves as a significant cautionary tale. This type of negative experience, particularly when amplified by intentions to report to the BBB, can severely undermine any positive promotional efforts and deter potential customers. Therefore, any perceived "promotion" from this establishment would need to be weighed against the reported inconsistencies in service quality and the potential risks highlighted by the negative feedback. Without more information on active, positive promotional efforts, the most objective view of their marketing is based on the mixed public perception of their service delivery.

I Came To Get A Oil Change Last Month After Like A Week I Started To Notice That My Car Was Leaking Oil. Had It Checked By My Mechanic Is I Was Told That This Shop Put The Wrong Oil Filter On My Vehicle. The Filter They Put On My Car Was For A Nissan And I Drive A Volkswagen I Also Was Told Had I Kept Driving My Car I Would Have Blown A Engine. I Do Not Recommend This Place Nobody I Am Just Thankful That The Problem Was Taken Care Of By My Mechanic Before It Was Too Late. Yes I Will Be Reporting Them To The BBB.
