Ted's Auto Repair Introduce

Ted's Auto Repair, located at 1711 N Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89108, USA, functions as an "Auto Repair Station" within the Las Vegas community. This type of establishment is designed to provide a wide array of automotive services, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, ensuring vehicles remain safe and operational for local users. You can reach them via phone at (702) 631-2886 or mobile at +1 702-631-2886.

As an "Auto Repair Station," Ted's Auto Repair would offer various goods and services essential for vehicle upkeep. While specific services are not exhaustively listed in the provided information, the nature of a general auto repair shop implies capabilities in areas such as engine diagnostics and repair, brake services, oil changes, tire services (rotation, balancing, repair), air conditioning system maintenance, suspension work, and potentially transmission services. The mention of "all of our repairs" by a satisfied customer suggests a broad scope of work handled by the shop. The specific mention of a "light sensor" repair in another review indicates their ability to diagnose and address electrical or sensor-related issues in vehicles.

The environment of a typical auto repair station like Ted's Auto Repair would include a functional garage space equipped with multiple service bays, vehicle lifts, and a comprehensive set of tools for diagnostics and mechanical repairs. There would likely be a customer waiting area, potentially with amenities for comfort during service. The overall atmosphere in such a shop aims to be professional and efficient, geared towards getting vehicles serviced and back on the road. However, it is important to note that specific details about the interior layout or cleanliness of Ted's Auto Repair are not available in the provided information.

The features of Ted's Auto Repair, as depicted by contrasting customer reviews, present a dual perspective. On one hand, a highly positive review highlights several commendable features:

  • Top-Notch Service: Customers consistently report "top-notch service," indicating a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Quick and Efficient Repairs: The mention of "repairs have been quick" suggests a focus on timely service, which is highly valued by vehicle owners.
  • Reasonable Pricing: Customers found their repairs to be "reasonably priced," indicating a perceived good value for the services rendered.
  • Excellent Workmanship: Repairs were described as "excellently performed," suggesting skilled technicians and durable fixes.
  • Personalized Customer Treatment: Being "treated like family from the professional staff" points to a warm, welcoming, and highly personable approach to customer service, fostering loyalty and trust. The statement, "We will not take our vehicles to anyone else, if we can help it!!!" strongly emphasizes this bond and satisfaction.

On the other hand, a highly critical review presents significant counterpoints and highlights potential issues:

  • Controversial Diagnostic and Storage Fees: A customer reported being charged a $120 diagnosis fee and a $60 daily storage fee without prior notification or clear agreement. This raises concerns about transparency in billing practices.
  • Perceived Rudeness and Refusal to Work: The customer found the staff (presumably Ted or a manager) to be "very rude" and unwilling to work with them regarding a warranty claim, which led to a breakdown in communication and a refusal to proceed with repairs.
  • Lack of Written Disclosure: The absence of "any paper" mentioning diagnosis or storage fees is a critical concern, indicating a potential lack of clear written policies provided to customers.
  • Inconsistent Pricing: The customer's perception that "Prices are made up depending on if they’re planning to work on the car" suggests a lack of consistent pricing structures or a perception of arbitrary charges, which can severely erode trust.
These contrasting experiences suggest potential inconsistencies in customer handling, particularly concerning complex cases involving warranties, or perhaps a difference in how policies are communicated or applied. The presence of a "professional staff" is mentioned in the positive review, implying that some staff members consistently provide excellent service, while the negative review highlights issues with communication and policy application from perhaps a different individual or at a different time.

For promotional information, Ted's Auto Repair has a strong foundation based on its loyal customer base and the consistently positive experiences they have provided. They should heavily lean into testimonials that highlight their "top-notch service," "quick, reasonably priced, and excellently performed repairs," and the "treated like family" aspect. This emphasizes the human connection and quality of work that has clearly resonated with long-term clients. Promoting the professionalism and skill of their technicians would also be beneficial. They could offer special discounts for new customers or referral programs to leverage their satisfied clientele.

However, to address the concerns raised in the negative review and prevent future issues, Ted's Auto Repair should also proactively promote transparency and clear communication. This means:

  • Clearly advertising their policy on diagnostic fees: If there is a charge, it should be prominently displayed and communicated upfront, both verbally and in writing, before any diagnostic work begins.
  • Making storage fees explicit: If storage fees are applied, this policy should be communicated and documented at the time a vehicle is left at the shop, especially for longer-term repairs or warranty claims.
  • Emphasizing warranty claim assistance: If they work with warranties, they should promote their process for handling such claims, reassuring customers that they will facilitate the process rather than hinder it.
  • Highlighting their commitment to fair and consistent pricing: Reinforcing that pricing is based on standard labor guides and parts costs, not arbitrary decisions.
By directly addressing these potential areas of concern through clear and consistent messaging, Ted's Auto Repair can reassure potential customers and mitigate the impact of negative experiences. Utilizing their website and in-store signage to clearly outline policies, alongside featuring positive customer stories, would be a balanced promotional strategy. Building on their existing reputation for excellent mechanical work and customer care, while also demonstrating a commitment to transparency, will be key to their continued success in the Las Vegas market.

Ted's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

My wife and I have been customers of Ted’s Auto Repair for several years now and have always received top notch service from them. All of our repairs have been quick, reasonably priced, and excellently performed. My wife and I have always been treated like family from the professional staff and we are extremely grateful for what they do. We will not take our vehicles to anyone else, if we can help it!!!

Took my car in for repairs and they quoted $700 for light sensor. We explained we have a warranty and to see if the warranty covers this. He then says every day the car is in the shop it’s $60 storage fee. When we said we would pick it up then he said that it’s $120 for diagnosis and they don’t work for free. Very rude. I explained it made no sense to charge for a diagnosis when we never were told that and we are trying to get the car repaired but he is the one refusing to do the repairs I think the warranty would cover actual repairs we have a platinum policy, but with storage fees it would not make sense to leave the car there while they try to file a claim for warranty. Additionally, no paper in states ANY mention of diagnosis or storage fees so buyer beware. Prices are made up depending on if they’re planning to work on the car.

I found this place by mistake, a good one. I was referred to another automotive place close to TAR by Ford down the street. I looked at the reviews of the recommended place and was not impressed. TAR came up in the area, and had some very good to great reviews. I read them all and decided to give TAR a shot - solely based on their reviews. I am glad I did! First and foremost, this is a family owned business and you will be able to find the husband and wife there 99% of the time. I met the couple and they were very friendly, and made you feel like they truly cared for your business. I will not go into detail, and to make a long story short, they saved me over 50% of what I was quoted at another repair shop. They also did not try to oversell me, or pressure me into taking their bid. The repair was pretty major and took them a fraction of the time I was quoted elsewhere. I was so impressed by their job that I brought in my other vehicle that needed some minor repairs. They did let me know that I may want to add some other services this time, but did not pressure me into doing so. With the huge savings I had again with this repair, I opted to do the suggested repairs in addition to what I needed done. I met one of their main mechanics, and you can tell he has years of experience behind him, and cares for what he works on. Both of my vehicles have high mileages, and I am glad these guys worked on them. All of my vehicle business will be at TAR. I highly recommend these guys and would use them in a heartbeat.

Don't get blinded by the Reviews! I brought my car here coz my Splash Shield was hanging down. He charged me $40 for them to screw it back outside the Shop, they didn't even check if there is something wrong with it and they did not even bother to do a tire check on my Vehicle. I mean $40 for all of that? While for other Auto shop around the Area, that would be free for courtesy. What a shame! will never even bother coming back from this place!
