Sun Auto Service Introduce
Sun Auto Service, located at 7555 W Washington Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89128, USA, functions as a prominent establishment within the Auto Repair Stations category. As a comprehensive auto service center, it is expected to provide a broad range of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair services for various types of vehicles, catering to the ongoing needs of local vehicle owners. This particular branch, like others in the Sun Auto Service network, aims to be a go-to spot for routine care and more complex automotive issues.
The environment at Sun Auto Service would typically feature a standard layout for an automotive repair facility. This generally includes a front office or reception area for customer intake and billing, a comfortable waiting area, and multiple service bays in the back where technicians perform work on vehicles. A well-organized and clean shop environment is crucial for efficient operations and to instill customer confidence. The waiting area, while functional, aims to provide a space for customers to relax, potentially offering amenities like seating and basic entertainment. The overall atmosphere, however, is heavily influenced by the customer service experience, as detailed in the reviews, which can impact the perception of professionalism and trustworthiness of the environment.
Sun Auto Service, being a "complete auto service" center, generally offers a wide array of services designed to keep vehicles running reliably. Based on industry standards for Auto Repair Stations and the customer reviews provided, their service offerings would typically include:
- Routine Maintenance: Such as oil changes, fluid checks and flushes (transmission, brake, power steering, coolant), and filter replacements (air, oil, cabin).
- Tire Services: Sales of new tires, tire replacement, rotation, balancing, and alignment. The reviews specifically mention "replacing two rear tires" and an "alignment job."
- Brake Services: Inspection, repair, and replacement of brake pads, rotors, calipers, and brake fluid services.
- Diagnostic Services: Addressing illuminated check engine lights, diagnosing performance issues, and utilizing specialized equipment to pinpoint problems. One review mentions a "transmission checkup" and a "check engine light is on for the first time in a decade" after service, indicating these diagnostic capabilities.
- Engine Repair: From minor fixes to more extensive engine overhauls.
- Transmission Repair: As indicated by the initial "transmission checkup" request.
- Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Services: Repair and maintenance of vehicle climate control systems.
- Suspension and Steering Services: Addressing issues with shocks, struts, and steering components.
- Fuel System Services: As tragically highlighted by the review mentioning a "fuel line was not attached properly causing to spray all over the engine," indicating their scope includes fuel system work.
The reviews provided highlight crucial features of Sun Auto Service, particularly concerning service execution and customer interaction. One significant feature is their ability to perform necessary repairs and diagnostics, as evidenced by the "transmission checkup" request and the initial offer to replace tires. The first reviewer notes the "Best thing about this place is they didn’t try to scam-sell me a new transmission," which suggests a degree of honesty in their diagnostic recommendations for major components. However, this positive aspect is heavily outweighed by significant concerns. A recurring theme across both reviews is a severe lack of communication and consistency in service delivery.
A major feature, and a concerning one, is the discrepancy between what was communicated and what was performed. The first reviewer explicitly states, "they called next day recommending to replace two rear tires, specifically. I agreed to it... Upon pickup, they replaced all FOUR tires," and that the staff then attempted to "gaslight" by insisting all four were mentioned. This highlights a critical flaw in their communication process and accountability. The fact that the "digital repair order proves me right" further underscores this issue. Furthermore, the review details physical damage to the vehicle ("scratched and popped out bumper") and a new problem ("check engine light is on for the first time in a decade") occurring immediately after service. These incidents suggest deficiencies in vehicle handling and post-service quality control.
The second review reinforces these negative features with even more severe accounts. It describes a "fuel line was not attached properly causing to spray all over the engine, gas all over the ground" resulting in the car not starting shortly after pickup. This points to a fundamental failure in basic repair procedures and quality assurance. The reviewer also mentions previous incidents, including an "inside front panel was damaged at one point and they did not tell us" and "one of the covers inside the hood was damaged, we discovered that late." These consistent issues across multiple visits and vehicles, coupled with the need to "contact Corporate" to resolve a past incident, indicate a systemic problem with quality control, transparency, and accountability for damages. The strong recommendation to "take photos and videos of your vehicle before leaving it to Sunauto and upon picking up, do a walk thru" serves as a stark warning about the risks associated with entrusting a vehicle to this particular branch, highlighting a lack of consistent, high-quality, and careful service as a significant feature.
Regarding promotional information, specific details for Sun Auto Service at this location are not provided in the given reviews. However, auto repair stations generally engage in various promotional activities to attract and retain customers. These could include:
- Seasonal Maintenance Specials: Offering discounts on services like AC checks, tire rotations, or battery tests during relevant seasons.
- New Customer Discounts: Incentives for first-time visitors, such as a percentage off their initial service.
- Oil Change Deals: Competitive pricing or coupons for routine oil changes, often tiered by oil type.
- Tire Sales and Rebates: Promotions on tire purchases, including installation deals or manufacturer rebates.
- Financing Options: Providing credit options for larger repairs to help customers manage costs.
In conclusion, Sun Auto Service at 7555 W Washington Ave in Las Vegas, NV, operates within the Auto Repair Stations category, offering a broad range of vehicle maintenance and repair services. While capable of performing diagnostic checks and repairs, as indicated by the absence of an unnecessary transmission replacement, the pervasive and severe negative customer experiences regarding inconsistent communication, unauthorized services (like the extra tire replacement), vehicle damage, and critical post-service failures (like the fuel line issue) overshadow any potential positives. These reviews paint a picture of significant challenges in quality control, accountability, and customer trust, making it crucial for potential customers to proceed with extreme caution and undertake thorough personal documentation before and after any service. The provided testimonials strongly suggest that a consistent and reliable positive experience is not a guaranteed feature of this particular location.

Almost thought I found a good neighborhood spot to bring my cars but sadly, not the case. Left my car for a transmission checkup; they called next day recommending to replace two rear tires, specifically. I agreed to it since they were old, and added an alignment job. Totally fine. Upon pickup, they replaced all FOUR tires, and the guy proceeded to pull a classic gaslight saying he told me they’d be replacing all 4, which was the most disrespectful part. I know he never mentioned this on the phone; and the digital repair order proves me right as there was no mention of needing all 4 tires, only the rear. Even though I tried to give him an out by saying he never mentioned it, he insisted on it, even without any other proof besides showing me the old front tire. Now I have the 4 new tires which I even found listed cheaper on Amazon; a scratched and popped out bumper from when they parked my car’s lip too close over the slab for pickup, and now my check engine light is on for the first time in a decade. Best thing about this place is they didn’t try to scam-sell me a new transmission. Worst thing is everything else. Good luck if you’re up for the challenge of becoming a customer here.

Vehicle was picked up Thursday afternoon. Come Saturday morning, car was not starting, smelled gas. Gas was pouring. Upon checking, fuel line was not attached properly causing to spray all over the engine, gas all over the ground. Gas line was not clipped right. We have been going to Sunauto for quite sometime and majority of the time, there's always a problem. One of our vehicles front panel (inside) was damaged at one point and they did not tell us. When we got home, I advised the manager and said, " oh yeah.." Had to contact Corporate which then refered me to a diff branch manager to deal with. My husband still wanted to go after this incident. Finally, my husband is convinced that SunAuto washington branch gave us more hassle specially this incident. We aint going back to SunAuto finally. I am attaching photos of the problem they created, not attaching fuel line securely, causing van not starting with spilled gas in the engine and in my driveway. Just a friendly reminder, take photos and videos of your vehicle before leaving it to Sunauto and upon picking up, do a walk thru. Btw, one of the covers inside the hood was damaged, we discovered that late. Our van was in Sunauto recently good chances they broke that cover on that visit. Hard to prove that on my part. It is what it is. ** Just video and take photos of your vehicle.

This place used to feel trustworthy, but now it feels like the type of shop that tries to intimidate customers and pressure them into unnecessary expenses. If you enjoy being treated like you don’t know anything about cars, and you’re okay with upsells and questionable repair recommendations, then this might be the place for you. As for me, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. I’ve been a loyal customer of Sun Auto for years, taking both of my vehicles there for regular maintenance. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning after my recent experience. Their prices have climbed higher than most other places in the area, and to make matters worse, the way they treat customers has gone downhill. During my last visit, Edgar was especially rude and condescending. He tried to upsell me on new tires, insisting that I was in dire need of replacement, even though my tires are only two years old and in great condition. His pushy behavior made me uncomfortable, and it all became clear when I noticed the big poster on their front door advertising a tire sale—it felt like the hard sell was purely profit-driven. I also asked for a general inspection because my car was making a weird noise, something they used to do for free in the past. This time, I was told it would cost $155. When I declined, Edgar’s attitude became noticeably worse. He warned me that I was “taking the risk of doing worse damage to the car” and then made a comment about how they “would go out of business if they gave free inspections.” The entire interaction felt dismissive and unfriendly, as though I was being punished for not agreeing to the upsell. To top it all off, on a prior visit with my other vehicle, they claimed I needed a $5,000 repair. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion, and it turned out the repair wasn’t needed at all. Addition 4/26/25 My "need oil change" light came on today. (2 days after the oil change)Then I looked in the upper left corner of the car windsheild and the old sticker they put on from last oil change is STILL there, and even worse, the corners are picked at, as if they tried to get it off but couldn't and just left it. UNBELIEVABLE! They couldn't even reset the oil change counter on the dash or give me a new sticker that shows when i'm due next. I now am doubting that they even did the oil change!!!

Great service. Great price. Great people. As a woman, I trust these guys. They really look out for the customer. I went for an oil change. They gave me a complimentary all inspection with photos. Impressive!

3 years ago I took my car into Sun Auto to have engine mounts replaced on my well maintained and low mileage 18-year-old car. I understood that manufacturer parts were likely unavailable for a car that old and no longer being manufactured. When I got into my car after their supposed service, I could not believe the shape she was in. She rattled, she shook violently and idled extremely roughly. When I pointed this out to them, they treated me like I was insane and didn't know what I was talking about. I had been driving that car since I bought her brand new 18 years prior so I knew my car quite well. They finally put some music dampening blanket thing in there to supposedly address the shaking and loud rattling. Needless to say, it did not address the problem. I did have it into another mechanic place who could not find the issue some time ago. So for 3 years I have driven a car that shook her way down the road and idled roughly at stops. I took it to Pep boys today to have the air conditioner recharged and the mechanic there spotted two bolts that had never been properly placed. He corrected that problem as a courtesy and my car now runs beautifully and purrs like a kitten at stop lights. I would not recommend Sun Auto to anyone!
