Stivers Collision Center Introduce
For vehicle owners in Waukee, IA, and the surrounding communities, the need for reliable auto body and collision repair services is an unfortunate but sometimes necessary reality. Stivers Collision Center, located at 1350 SE Stoneridge Dr, Waukee, IA 50263, USA, operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specifically focusing on bodywork, collision damage, and related automotive repairs. As part of the broader Stivers Automotive Group, which encompasses various dealerships, the Collision Center is positioned to provide specialized services for vehicles that have sustained damage, ranging from minor dents to significant accident aftermath.
The environment at Stivers Collision Center presents a mixed picture based on customer experiences. One review highlights an exceptionally positive interaction, praising the "professional" and "helpful" team, specifically mentioning Renee and Anthony, for their "quick service" and "care." This suggests an environment where certain staff members are highly attuned to customer needs and capable of providing swift resolutions, even for seemingly minor issues like a headlight lamp replacement. The expectation from this customer was clearly met, describing it as "the service I expect from Stivers." However, another review paints a starkly contrasting picture, detailing a "worst experience of my life" involving lack of transparency, unauthorized towing, and a "shady" process regarding a vehicle's bumper and payment for services. This indicates that while some staff members are commendable, there may be inconsistencies in communication and procedure that can lead to significant customer dissatisfaction. A well-functioning collision center typically aims for a clean, organized, and reassuring environment, especially when dealing with distressed customers whose vehicles have been damaged.
Stivers Collision Center primarily focuses on auto body and collision repair services, which differentiates it from general mechanical repair shops. While the core of their business is fixing damage resulting from accidents, their services can extend to minor cosmetic issues and some related mechanical problems if they are a direct result of collision damage or intertwined with it. Based on the provided information, their services and goods for sale would include:
- Collision Repair: Repairing vehicles that have been in accidents, covering structural damage, body panel replacement, frame straightening, and paintwork.
- Auto Body Repair: Addressing dents, scratches, rust, and other cosmetic damage to a vehicle's exterior.
- Headlight Lamp Replacement: As evidenced by a positive customer review, they handle specific component replacements, even seemingly minor ones, demonstrating a readiness to assist with various repair needs.
- Diagnostics Related to Collision: Assessing damage and determining necessary repairs, potentially involving coordination with mechanical departments for engine or internal system damage caused by impact.
- Parts Procurement: Sourcing and utilizing genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or high-quality aftermarket parts for replacements during collision repair. Given their affiliation with the Stivers Automotive Group (which likely includes new car dealerships), they would have direct access to manufacturer-specific parts.
- Assistance with Insurance Claims: Collision centers often work directly with insurance companies to streamline the repair process and manage billing, a service that can be invaluable to customers.
The features of Stivers Collision Center, as revealed by customer feedback, are notable both positively and negatively. On the positive side, the center demonstrates the capacity for "quick service" and a willingness to provide immediate assistance, as seen with Renee and Anthony addressing the headlight issue. This responsiveness and efficiency are highly valued by customers who are often inconvenienced by vehicle problems. The staff's helpfulness and professional demeanor are also highlighted by one satisfied customer. However, the severe negative review points to significant concerns regarding transparency and customer treatment, particularly concerning:
- Unauthorized Actions: Towed a customer's privately towed vehicle to another location without consent.
- Lack of Communication: Did not inform the customer about the tow or the removal of the bumper, and were unresponsive to calls from both the customer and the other repair shop.
- Hostage Tactics: Holding a vehicle part (bumper) "hostage" to demand payment for an unapproved tow fee, despite it being an insurance claim.
- Rude Management: The shop manager's impolite demeanor when confronted about the issues.
- Prolonged Repair Time: The customer's car was unavailable for "nearly 2 months" largely due to these issues.
Regarding promotional information, specific ongoing deals are not mentioned. However, collision centers typically promote themselves through their association with reputable dealerships, their certification with various vehicle manufacturers (though not specified here), and their ability to work seamlessly with insurance companies. The positive customer review itself serves as a strong form of promotion, emphasizing "excellent experience," "incredibly fast," "fixed perfectly," "super helpful," "professional, honest," and "highly recommend." Conversely, the deeply negative review serves as a stark warning, highlighting potential pitfalls for future customers. For those in Waukee, IA, needing collision or body repair, Stivers Collision Center can be contacted at (515) 987-7234 or +1 515-987-7234. Prospective customers are advised to engage in thorough communication, seek clear estimates, and ensure all services and associated fees are explicitly approved in writing, especially when dealing with complex repairs or insurance claims, to mitigate potential issues highlighted by past experiences.

Renee saved the day for me! Long story short: I had a headlight lamp go out. Quick Lane said go to Service or the Collision Center. Service said go to Quick Lane or the Collision Center. They both made it sound like it was a repair they couldn't do. So, after two days of being put off, I called the Collision Center, explained my situation to Renee, and she said "Come in today, we'll take care of you." I did, and in no more than a minute Anthony changed the headlight! That is the service I expect from Stivers, and I am grateful for Renee's care and their quick service.

I wish I could make this zero stars. I had one of the worst experiences of my life here. I was having engine repairs done and payment was all going through insurance. I had my vehicle privately towed here and after a few days they informed me (not asked) that they sent it to chevy in waukee to be diagnosed. Chevy informed me that when they got my car it did not have the front bumper (it had it when it was dropped off at stivers). After 2 weeks of stivers not answering or calling back chevy I finally called to ask if they had my bumper. They said yes. Now I will say the lady at the front desk here is super kind and very helpful, I loved her. She transferred me to the shop manager who was not polite in any way. When I asked if I could have my bumper back so chevy could finish working on my car they told me they would give it to me when I gave them the money for the tow. When I asked what they meant (had it privately towed to stivers) they said i owed them $95 for having it towed to chevy down the street. Not only did they never say a word to me about this tow fee until I asked for my bumper back, when I told them I had never been asked nor approved it being towed they said insurance had approved it meaning that insurance was paying it not me. They were holding my bumper hostage for a fee going through insurance. Who does that?? They were rude. They took a random piece of my car to use as collateral without ever telling me. I did not have my car for nearly 2 months because of stivers. And I had to pay the tow fee out of pocket to get my bumper back. NEVER EVER GO HERE. They are shady and will absolutely take advantage of you. Chevy Shottenkirk however was fantastic and I would reccomend taking your business to them instead of stivers.

I'd certainly recommend Stivers Collision for autobody repairs! Everyone I worked with (Anthony, Wes and Renee) were polite, knowledgeable and very professional. This team stands behind their work and did an amazing job ensuring my vehicle was fixed right with a front bumper replacement. They exceeded my expectations matching the factory finish on my San Marino Red Accord - red can be a very difficult color to match and they nailed it!

Renee was very helpful throughout the process. The loaner vehicle was very nice to have. The repair work was immaculate! Immaculate. I was highly impressed with the quality of the work. The only downsides were not getting a specific timeline at the start of the process and there is issues with their card payment processor, so we had to bring a check for payment which we are of the generation that doesn’t use checks often at all so that was inconvenient for us personally. But the inconveniences were honestly small in the whole process because they did such a perfect job on the repair and the loaner car was so convenient.

Do not be enticed by their free vehicle loan as they fix your car. I had the worst experience in trying to get my car repaired. Not only did they wait until I paid the deductible, but they returned my car worse than I brought it in and refused to fix the issue they caused. As a full-time college student, military veteran, and young adult, I thought they would have more compassion and not take advantage, but they did. Due to their lack of care and assessment, I now have to worry about driving in the cold and extreme heat. Do not go to this shop if you have Progressive as your insurance. There is a reason why Progressive does not recommend them for any service repairs. They tell the insurance agents one thing and you another. This shop does not have to guarantee they do an excellent job for the services you are paying for. This has been the most troubling experience, and I will ensure that I let everyone I know and not pay for their services.
