Smitty's Salvage &Supply INC Introduce

**Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC**, located at **2325 Main St, Green Bay, WI 54311, USA**, operates within the broad "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. While the classification "Auto Repair Stations" typically implies direct repair services, businesses like Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC often fall under this umbrella due to their fundamental role in providing essential components and materials for vehicle repair and maintenance, primarily through the sale of used, salvaged, or recycled auto parts and scrap metal. This business model caters to individuals and repair shops looking for more affordable alternatives to new parts, or for difficult-to-find components for older vehicles.

Regarding the environment, a salvage yard or auto supply business like Smitty's typically has a distinctive operational environment. It would likely consist of:

  • **Outdoor Storage Areas:** Large outdoor plots for storing salvaged vehicles, often organized by make, model, or year, from which parts are extracted.
  • **Parts Inventory Warehouse:** An indoor or covered facility for storing processed and inventoried parts, such as engines, transmissions, interior components, and smaller items, to protect them from weather elements.
  • **Dismantling Area:** A dedicated zone where vehicles are systematically dismantled, fluids are drained, and reusable parts are carefully removed.
  • **Scrap Processing Area:** Sections for crushing or processing unusable vehicle remains for scrap metal.
  • **Customer Service Counter/Office:** A front office for handling inquiries, sales, and administrative tasks. This area might be more utilitarian than a traditional retail parts store, focusing on efficiency for transactions.

Based on customer reviews, there are significant concerns about the company's operational practices, particularly regarding the secure transportation of materials. One reviewer explicitly states, "This company doesn’t strap their loads down which allows their garbage to fly out of their trucks." This implies potential issues with maintaining a safe and orderly environment beyond their immediate premises, extending to public roads. Such practices can lead to environmental hazards and safety risks for other drivers.

As an entity within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC primarily provides goods and services related to salvaged and recycled auto components. Their core offerings would generally include:

  • **Used Auto Parts Sales:** This is the mainstay of a salvage yard. They would sell a wide array of used parts salvaged from damaged or end-of-life vehicles. This can encompass engines, transmissions, body panels (doors, hoods, fenders), interior components (seats, dashboards), electrical parts, lights, wheels, tires, and more. These parts offer a cost-effective solution for vehicle repairs.
  • **Scrap Metal Recycling:** Purchasing and processing various types of scrap metal from vehicles, contributing to metal recycling efforts.
  • **Vehicle Purchasing:** Buying unwanted, damaged, or junk vehicles from individuals or businesses for dismantling and recycling.
  • **Specialized Parts Sourcing:** For older or less common vehicles, salvage yards are often a crucial resource for finding discontinued or hard-to-find parts that are no longer manufactured.

While they don't directly perform repairs on customer vehicles, their service is providing the raw materials (used parts) that auto repair stations and individual mechanics use to perform repairs, thus contributing to the automotive repair ecosystem.

The features of Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC, as gleaned from the available customer reviews, present a mixed, predominantly negative, picture. One potential positive feature of any salvage yard is the **affordability of used parts** compared to new or even aftermarket components, though a review suggests pricing concerns ("worst prices"). Another is the **availability of older or rare parts**, which can be invaluable for restoring or repairing vintage vehicles, but this is not explicitly praised in the given reviews.

However, the most prominent features highlighted by the customer reviews are overwhelmingly negative and focus on significant operational and customer service deficiencies:

  • **Lack of Load Securement and Road Safety Issues:** A critical feature brought to light is their alleged failure to "strap their loads down," leading to "garbage to fly out of their trucks" onto public roads. This represents a severe safety hazard and a disregard for proper Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This is a highly concerning operational feature that could have serious implications for public safety and the environment.
  • **Extremely Poor Customer Service:** Multiple reviews unequivocally condemn their customer service. One reviewer recounts a conversation where an employee was "super hostile" and denied responsibility for their debris hitting a vehicle, stating it's "not their issue." Another states, "Worst customer service ever," and describes the staff as "sour people." This indicates a systemic issue with how they interact with customers, characterized by unprofessionalism and defensiveness.
  • **Unprofessional Conduct:** The phrases "SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL with how they talk and treat others" and "deny anything they’re at fault for" point to a pervasive lack of professionalism in their business dealings and a refusal to acknowledge responsibility for their actions.
  • **Pricing Concerns:** The comment "worst prices they are pretty much scammers" suggests that despite being a salvage yard which typically offers cheaper alternatives, their pricing may not be competitive or perceived as fair by customers, leading to accusations of dishonesty.

These features, particularly the safety and customer service issues, are critical considerations for any potential customer or business partner.

Regarding promotional information, given the nature of the negative customer feedback, it is unlikely that Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC actively advertises promotional deals in a traditional sense, such as discounts on specific parts or services, without addressing the fundamental issues raised by customers. Businesses with such publicly documented service concerns typically focus on operational improvements rather than broad promotional campaigns. Salvage yards often rely on their inventory and competitive pricing (though pricing is disputed here) to attract customers. Any "promotional" activity would likely be geared towards direct communication with professional mechanics or word-of-mouth within the local automotive repair community. However, based on the reviews, their current reputation might hinder such efforts. For potential customers, it would be advisable to call ahead to inquire about specific parts availability and pricing. Their contact numbers are **(920) 468-7715** and mobile phone **+1 920-468-7715**. Given the severe negative feedback concerning customer interaction, prospective clients should be prepared for potentially challenging communications. It is highly recommended that any potential customer conduct thorough due diligence and consider alternative options before engaging with Smitty's Salvage & Supply INC, especially when safety and professional conduct are paramount concerns.

Smitty's Salvage &Supply INC Customer Reviews

This company doesn’t strap their loads down which allows their garbage to fly out of thier trucks, I had tin heat ducts fly out so I called to report it to them to let them know that their garbage had hit my vehilce while driving opposite ways down the road. While talking with thier employee see started the conversation out super hostile, I then asked for their insurance in case I have to do a claim for when I bring my choice in and she then told me that de red coming out of their trucks is not thier issue. Highly recommended staying away from this company both for business and while driving as they don’t follow proper dot regulations and will deny anything they’re at fault for. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL with how they talk and treat others

I went here yesterday for my 1st time. I was a little reluctant after reading all the bad reviews, but it's the closest scrap yard. I brought 3 contractor bags of crushed cans for some extra money for the kid's piggy banks. I followed the obvious sign of where to drop cans off. After getting the guys attention he had me dump the cans on the belt, and gave me a paper with some scribbling on it. Took it to the drop box at the main office which has a sign, and drove off with about $25. I've been to some scrap yards that were more personable, but they weren't rude and it was an easy transaction, so I can't complain. I'll be going back.
