Smithtown Kia Service Center Introduce
Smithtown Kia Service Center, located at 726 Middle Country Rd, St James, NY 11780, USA, operates as an authorized service and repair facility within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specifically catering to Kia vehicles. They can be reached at (631) 406-5116 or via mobile at +1 631-406-5116. As a dealership service center, their primary function is to provide maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for Kia models, often utilizing factory-trained technicians and genuine Kia parts.
As an "Auto Repair Station" affiliated with a major automotive brand like Kia, Smithtown Kia Service Center is equipped to handle a comprehensive range of services. This typically includes routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections, as well as more complex diagnostic and repair work for engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components. They are also responsible for performing recall services and warranty repairs on Kia vehicles. Their services are crucial for Kia owners seeking to maintain their vehicle's warranty and ensure its optimal performance, ideally benefiting from specialized knowledge of Kia systems.
The environment at a dealership service center like Smithtown Kia typically features a customer waiting area, service desks for check-in and check-out, and a workshop where vehicles are serviced. While the aim is to provide a comfortable and professional setting, the customer reviews provided paint a different picture regarding the overall experience. The environment, in terms of customer interaction and service efficiency, appears to be a source of significant dissatisfaction for some clients. The accounts suggest a facility where communication can be lacking, and delays in service are common, which can lead to a frustrating experience for those relying on their vehicles.
The services offered by Smithtown Kia Service Center would generally include:
Diagnostic Services: Using specialized tools to identify issues with Kia vehicles, including complex problems like fuel pump failures and electrical system issues.
Scheduled Maintenance: Performing factory-recommended maintenance services to keep Kia vehicles running efficiently and to maintain warranty coverage.
Repairs: Addressing various mechanical and electrical issues, as needed for Kia models.
Warranty Service: Handling repairs covered under Kia's manufacturer warranty, although customer experiences suggest complexities with this process.
Genuine Kia Parts: Typically utilizing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Kia parts for repairs, ensuring compatibility and quality.
Based on the provided customer reviews, several features and experiences stand out, though primarily in a negative light:
Significant Delays: A recurring theme is the extended time vehicles spend in the service department. One customer reported a 29-day wait just for a diagnostic and nearly 40 days in total for repairs (fuel pump and batteries). Another customer reported a week and a half without their car even being touched.
Poor Communication: Customers report a lack of proactive communication and difficulty in obtaining status updates. One review specifically mentions being met with a "rude and dismissive demeanor" from service associates who "nearly outright refuse to be even the slightest bit helpful." There was also an instance of the service center asking if a customer wanted to get the vehicle fixed five days after being given the go-ahead.
Warranty Challenges: Despite parts supposedly being under warranty, customers claim they still had to pay out of pocket, leading to vehicles becoming "money pits."
Lack of Courtesy Vehicles/Rentals: Customers expressed frustration at not being offered a rental or courtesy vehicle during prolonged repair times, causing significant personal and professional hardship, including job loss due to lack of transportation.
Quality Control Issues Post-Service: One customer reported their car being "splattered with OIL from the front Grill" after service, indicating a lack of attention to detail during the repair process.
Perceived Lack of Care: The reviews convey a strong sense that the service center does not prioritize customer needs or urgency, leading to severe inconvenience and financial strain for vehicle owners.
Regarding promotional information, authorized dealership service centers generally promote their services through various channels. However, based on the provided customer feedback, any promotional efforts might be overshadowed by the reported service deficiencies. Typically, promotional strategies for a dealership service center would include:
Service Specials: Offering discounts on routine maintenance, tire services, or specific repair packages.
Online Scheduling: Providing the convenience of booking service appointments online.
Certified Technicians: Highlighting the expertise of factory-trained and certified technicians specializing in Kia vehicles.
Genuine Parts: Emphasizing the use of authentic Kia parts for all repairs, which ensures quality and maintains vehicle integrity.
Customer Waiting Area Amenities: Promoting comfortable waiting areas with amenities like Wi-Fi, refreshments, or shuttle services.
Warranty Assurance: Advertising their ability to perform warranty-covered repairs, a key benefit for new vehicle owners.
Maintenance Plans: Offering prepaid maintenance plans to help customers budget for future services.
However, it is imperative for local users to consider the recent customer feedback when evaluating Smithtown Kia Service Center. The experiences shared by current customers, detailing significant delays, communication breakdowns, and issues with warranty claims, suggest potential challenges for those seeking timely and hassle-free automotive service. Prospective customers are advised to thoroughly research current customer experiences and potentially consider alternative service providers if these issues are critical to their needs.

Save yourself a headache and stay away from this KiA Service. Stay away from KiA period. Everything is fine while it works once one thing goes wrong with the vehicle that’s when this POS turns into a money pit. And forget about warranty somehow parts that are supposed to be “warranty” you still have to pay money out of your pockets. So I decided to go to a different KiA service, I took my vehicle to this KiA service however It took them 29 days for them to give me a diagnostic on my KiA Carnival 2023 (fuel pump went bad, and somehow they told me I needed new batteries as well) I told them to go ahead and repair the vehicle, just for them to call me 5 days later asking me if I wanted to get the vehicle fixed. I worked as a power wheelchair rep so I was heavily relying on this vehicle. I had to carry tools etc. clients really relied on me to get their wheelchairs going. This vehicle spent almost 40 days at their service department. Unfortunately I tried renting a vehicle but I couldn’t afford to pay more than 2 weeks ($1,300). I was let go from my job because I couldn’t keep up. Had no vehicle, couldn’t keep paying for a rental. What makes me more upset is that holidays are right around the corner. I was a huge TOYOTA user, I owned 4 Toyota’s previously and I decided to give KiA a chance. TOYOTA never did this to me. Almost 40 days in the shop for fuel pump and batteries. As soon as I cab get out of KiA I will definitely go back to TOYOTA again. So future KiA buyer think about it, read all the reviews available to you, KiA vehicles look very sharp, but when it comes to service they turn into a money pit and a headache. To make things better I get the car splattered with OIL from the front Grill. I don’t know about anyone else but I got screwed big time by this dealership. Happy Holidays!

The absolute worst service I have ever gotten. I have a 2020 Kia Soul with only 83K and vehicle stopped working. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where I has bought the car. It has been over a week and a half and they haven't even touched the car. I am without a car and they have not even offered a rental or courtesy vehicle. Every time I call to inquire about the status of the car I am met with a service associate with a rude and dismissive demeanor that is nearly out right refuses to be even the slightest bit helpful. At this point I am considering having my car towed to another repair shop that actually wants to service the car.

I leased a 2023 Kia Sportage June 2022. Since then the car has had nothing but issues and my life and the lives of others have been put in danger. November of 2022, I was driving on the highway, and the car shut down while on the highway. I was able to coast to the side of road. I called 911 because there was a heavy smell of something burning. After car had to be towed to Kia, I was told that one of the fuel injectors malfunctioned. Once again today, I was driving the car and it shut down. Smell of gasoline was nauseating and there was black smoke coming from the talk pipe. I had just gotten the car back from an oil change and recall issue, not to mention I have been having issues with the car since I leased it and no one takes it seriously because there is no code for the “problem”. My car has been in for issues numerous times, and no one seems to be concerned about my safety and the safely of others. I have contacted Kia Corporate, I have written to NYS Attorney General’s Office, and I’m still dealing with a lemon! This car is unsafe!!!!!!! When we purchased the car, we were told if it ever went in for service, a loaner car would be provided. I have had to argue at times for what we were promised. Called the salesperson today, and of course he no longer works there.

Had an issue with the sun roof which fortunately was covered under my warranty. The tam at Smithtown KIA did a great job. The fix took some time, but I was provided with an equivalent loaner. All in all they took care of the customer.
