Service Department at Dewey Ford Introduce

For Ford owners and other vehicle operators in Ankeny, Iowa, and the surrounding communities, the Service Department at Dewey Ford, located at 3055 SE Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA 50021, USA, is part of a larger automotive dealership providing services within the Auto Repair Stations category. Dealership service departments typically offer a range of maintenance and repair services, often with certified technicians and access to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. However, recent customer experiences, as reflected in online reviews, provide a mixed perspective on the service provided at this location.

While specific details about the service department's physical environment are not extensively described, dealership service centers generally include a customer reception area where vehicle owners can check in for their appointments, discuss their service needs with advisors, and wait for their vehicles to be serviced. The service bays themselves are typically equipped with specialized tools and diagnostic equipment necessary for working on a variety of vehicles, particularly Ford models. The presence of a mobile service truck, as mentioned in one review, suggests that Dewey Ford offers some level of off-site service for certain issues.

The services offered by the Service Department at Dewey Ford likely encompass a comprehensive range of vehicle maintenance and repair options, typical of a dealership service center. These may include:

  • Routine Maintenance: Such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and top-offs, filter replacements, and scheduled maintenance services as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Warranty Repairs: Handling repairs covered under Ford's factory warranty.
  • Recall Services: Performing any necessary repairs related to safety recalls issued by Ford, free of charge to the vehicle owner.
  • General Automotive Repair: Addressing a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues, including brake service, engine repair, transmission service, and more.
  • Diagnostic Services: Utilizing specialized equipment to diagnose complex vehicle problems.
  • Parts Replacement: Using genuine Ford OEM parts for repairs and replacements.
  • Mobile Service: As indicated by one review, offering on-site service for certain issues, potentially for minor repairs or maintenance.

However, the limited customer feedback available online paints a concerning picture regarding the execution and follow-through of these services. One customer reported an oil change that resulted in a leak upon returning home. While the service department did dispatch a mobile service truck to resolve the immediate issue by replacing the filter and adding oil, the promised follow-up to clean the oil spill on the driveway never materialized. This lack of follow-through reflects poorly on their customer service and commitment to resolving issues completely.

Another customer shared a significantly negative experience related to the purchase of a new vehicle. The vehicle was delivered with a missing piece in the front grill, which was brought to the dealership's attention shortly after purchase. The customer was directed to the service center, where staff indicated they would follow up. Despite multiple attempts by the customer via email and phone, no returned communication was received. This lack of responsiveness and failure to address a defect in a newly purchased vehicle raises serious concerns about their post-sales service and customer care.

The features one might typically expect from a dealership service department, such as certified technicians and genuine OEM parts, are not directly commented on in the provided reviews. However, these are generally standard offerings at authorized service centers. The availability of a mobile service unit could be seen as a convenient feature for certain types of service needs.

The primary concern arising from the available information is the apparent lack of consistent and reliable customer service, particularly in terms of follow-up and resolving issues promptly. While the initial response to the oil leak (dispatching the mobile service) was positive, the failure to complete the promised clean-up detracts significantly from the overall experience. Similarly, the complete lack of follow-up regarding the missing part on a new vehicle is unacceptable and indicates a serious breakdown in communication and customer care processes.

Given the limited and negative nature of the recent feedback, it is difficult to ascertain any current promotional information for the Service Department at Dewey Ford. Typically, dealership service centers may offer various promotions to attract customers, such as:

  • Oil Change Specials: Discounted rates or package deals for oil and filter changes.
  • Seasonal Service Packages: Promotions on services relevant to the current season, like winterization or summer maintenance checks.
  • Tire Promotions: Discounts on new tires or special offers on tire services.
  • Parts Discounts: Coupons or discounts on specific genuine Ford parts.
  • Service Coupons: Percentage-off or dollar-amount savings on service bills.
  • Multi-Service Discounts: Reduced pricing when multiple services are performed at the same time.
  • Loyalty Programs: Rewards for repeat service customers.

However, in light of the reported customer service issues, potential customers might be hesitant to engage with any promotions without assurances of improved service and follow-through. It would be advisable for local users considering service at Dewey Ford to proceed with caution and perhaps seek recent, broader feedback from other sources to get a more comprehensive understanding of their current service quality.

In conclusion, while the Service Department at Dewey Ford in Ankeny, IA, is positioned as an authorized service provider within the Auto Repair Stations category, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns about their customer service and follow-through. The issues reported include a failure to complete a promised service (driveway clean-up after an oil leak repair) and a complete lack of response to a defect in a newly purchased vehicle. Potential customers should be aware of these recent experiences and may want to seek further information before entrusting their vehicle service needs to this location. The availability of a mobile service unit is a potential benefit, but it is overshadowed by the reported shortcomings in customer care.

Service Department at Dewey Ford Customer Reviews

I took the truck in to get the oil changed when I got home. I had it backed in the driveway. It was leaking oil. Call the service manager and they sent the mobile service truck out. They wound up putting a new filter on and added 4 quarts of oil. I was told they were gonna come clean the driveway up. I never did hear back nor did they show up.

Very disappointed in the follow up with Dewey. I purchased a vehicle from them and it was delivered to me with a missing piece in the front passenger grill. I brought this to their attention a couple of days after the purchase. Since the car was not detailed I had hired someone to detail and they pointed out the missing piece and suggested I take it up to them prior to his detailing. Upon my arrival at the sales center they sent me to the service center. They looked at the car and stated they would contact me. Never did. I followed up with an email and a call. Still no returned call. I am very disappointed. Purchasing a new car should be an exciting experience, Dewey has made this experience frustrating and I would not recommend. 1/10

My friend brought his jeep grand Cherokee for a certain problem. $12,000+ later the issue was never fixed. You're very lucky I'm no longer doing hair, ( I would let anyone and everyone know) not to go to you for any kind of service. You never fixed his original problem and just yesterday he took it to Aamco in Clive, they figured it out the problem immediately and showed him what it was. For $895 his jeep is good and done by real experts.!!! You worked on his jeep for approximately 6 weeks and the issue with his jeep was never resolved. Shame on you.,....Worst service department ever!!!!

I needed to have my vehicle serviced for a recall on my brake hose and I couldn’t be more impressed with the service team at Dewey. I called to get an appointment right before they closed Wednesday evening and they had an appointment available in the morning the next day and I opted for the valet option as I work from home and wouldn’t have a ride back to my place while it was being serviced. When they didn’t show up to my house when they said they would, I called about half hour later to see what was going on and I guess the appointment never got fully confirmed, so they sent someone who was nearby dropping off another vehicle to pick mine up and apologized profusely for the mishap, taking full accountability for not confirming the appointment on their end. I told them it was totally okay, things happen and I understand that, and within 10 minutes they arrived to pick up my vehicle. I was originally quoted 2 days to get the repair done, but within 5 hours, they had returned my vehicle WITH MY CAR WASHED… my car was absolutely filthy as I haven’t had a chance to get it washed in months and that was SO appreciated. They also called me to see if I wanted any other services complete as they noticed I needed an oil change too. Thank you to the entire service department for the amazing service, communication, and going the extra mile for me. I couldn’t be more impressed! 5 Stars!!!

Just went to pick up work truck, white F350 Diesel element fleet vehicle. It is 8:30 December 31st, service advisor had someone go get truck to bring it around for us. It was sitting on the edge of the parking lot with frozen snow on the windshield. The person getting truck to bring to us started truck, turned wiper blades on since it didn't clear the windshield they shut wipers off, then turned wipers on again, and turned wipers back off. They waited about 20 seconds, turned them back on, and let wipers run for a minute or two across ice on the windshield. I pointed this out to the service advisor assigned to us, a blonde girl who seemed like she was not happy with her morning. She stated there is nothing she could do now, but she would talk to the girl about it that was doing it. I said really you just going to let her run them wipers on that frozen windshield a half inch thick of frozen snow."" I watched them run the wipers at least 3 minutes on the frozen snow covering the windshield because they were too lazy to go get a scraper. I should have gone and got the truck myself, I would have if it was a personal vehicle. I would have yanked them out of the truck, but it was a work vehicle. Im sure this happens all the time, and probably occured on all the vehicles that were left at Dewy ford over night. Apparently, there is a training issue, also a big issue with the advisors since there was no concern and she appeared put out when I confronted her. A few months ago, when I had issues with my ranger, before trading it a a bronco, I talked with the service manager, he talked like he cared, but apparently he is part of problem because the complacency starts at the top. I was so glad last week I went to oscaloosa to buy my new truck. Dewey service needs an over haul
