For local users in Ankeny, Iowa, Dewey Ford Collision, located at 3225 SE Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA 50021, USA, operates as a dedicated auto repair station specializing in collision repair and auto body services. You can reach them at (515) 348-3517 or their mobile number +1 515-348-3517 for inquiries or to schedule an estimate for your vehicle's repair needs. While the name includes "Ford," as a collision center, they likely handle repairs for various makes and models, focusing on restoring vehicles after accidents or other body damage.

As an auto body and collision repair facility, the environment at Dewey Ford Collision would typically include a workshop equipped with specialized tools and equipment necessary for this type of work. This would involve areas for damage assessment, bodywork (such as dent removal, frame straightening, and panel replacement), painting and refinishing, and vehicle reassembly. Customers might interact with estimators who assess the damage and provide repair quotes, as well as service advisors who manage the repair process. The facility would likely have paint booths to ensure a clean and professional finish on repaired vehicles.

As a specialized Auto Repair Station focused on collision work, Dewey Ford Collision likely offers a comprehensive range of services to address the aftermath of vehicle accidents and other forms of body damage. These typically include:

  • Collision Repair: Repairing vehicles that have been damaged in accidents, ranging from minor fender benders to more substantial structural damage.
  • Auto Body Repair: Addressing various types of damage to the vehicle's body panels, including dents, scratches, and rust.
  • Frame Straightening: Utilizing specialized equipment to correct any damage to the vehicle's frame, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
  • Painting and Refinishing: Providing services to repaint repaired areas or the entire vehicle, precisely matching the original color and finish. This includes color matching, blending, and clear coat application.
  • Dent Repair: Repairing dents of various sizes, potentially including paintless dent repair (PDR) for minor damage where the paint is intact.
  • Bumper Repair and Replacement: Addressing damage to bumpers, which are commonly affected in collisions.
  • Auto Glass Replacement: Replacing damaged windshields, side windows, and rear windows.
  • Body Panel Replacement: Replacing severely damaged body panels such as fenders, doors, and quarter panels.
  • Alignment Services: Ensuring proper wheel alignment after collision repairs, which is crucial for safe driving and preventing uneven tire wear.
  • Airbag System Repair and Replacement: Addressing issues with deployed or damaged airbags and related components.

The features of Dewey Ford Collision, based on the provided customer reviews, present a contrasting view of their service quality:

  • Potential for High-Quality Body Work: One customer reported a "great job" where they "can't even tell there was any damage," with the repair being completed ahead of schedule. This suggests the capability for excellent bodywork and timely service.

However, the other review raises significant concerns about their attention to detail and overall quality control:

  • Lack of Attention to Detail: The negative review details multiple issues after the repair, including faulty electronics (non-functional blind spot sensors), a misaligned gas cap, and paint dust throughout the interior.
  • Apparent Lack of Quality Control: The fact that the vehicle was returned with a dashboard alert ignored and paint dust still present after a second visit indicates a potential lack of thorough quality checks.
  • Inadequate Customer Service Follow-Up: The customer who experienced the issues reported a lack of concern when the problems were initially reported and further inconvenience due to delays with rental paperwork.
  • Potential for Rushed Work: The early completion of the job, while initially appreciated, might have contributed to the oversight of these significant issues.

As part of a Ford dealership, Dewey Ford Collision may occasionally offer promotions or specials on collision repair services, although no specific information is provided in the reviews. Local users are encouraged to contact them directly at (515) 348-3517 or +1 515-348-3517 to inquire about any current offers, discounts, or financing options that might be available for collision repairs. It's also worth asking about their repair process, warranties on their work, and their experience with handling insurance claims.

In conclusion, Dewey Ford Collision in Ankeny, Iowa, operates as an Auto Repair Station specializing in auto body and collision repair. While one customer reported excellent and timely service with high-quality bodywork, another detailed significant issues with attention to detail, quality control, and customer service follow-up. This contrasting feedback suggests that while they may be capable of performing good repairs, consistency and thoroughness might be areas of concern. Local users considering Dewey Ford Collision for their auto body repair needs should be aware of these differing experiences. It would be prudent to thoroughly inspect the vehicle upon completion of any repairs and to discuss quality control measures and warranties with them beforehand. Contacting them directly for an estimate and inquiring about their repair process and any available promotions is recommended to make an informed decision.

Dewey Ford Collision Customer Reviews

We purchased our Pacifica from Dewey and it was a fine experience so when it needed body work, it only made sense to take it to the collision center. We were thankful the job was done early. When we got our van home, my husband noted faulty electronics and an alert in the dash. The blind spot sensors were not working. The gas cap was bowed out and improperly aligned, and there was paint dust throughout the interior. It was apparent there was zero care or standards with the repair of our car. They had to have turned the car on to drive it out of the Collison Center. Apparently, the alert was ignored. Dewey was called. The concerns were noted. They didn’t seemed concerned and the van was dropped back off. My husband spend 2 hours waiting for the rental paperwork for the additional repairs to be made, missed a half a day of work because of their lack of attention to detail. When he picked it up, there was still paint dust everywhere. Zero care. They took their money and ran. 10/10 would not recommend going there. We won’t be back. If you use them, do a thorough walk around before you leave so you don’t waste your time.

We had a horrible experience with this collision center. We were told repairs would take two days. Due to several part errors, the repair kept getting delayed. We received only one call during the eight days they had our car. We kept getting told they would call with an update but we had to call to find out the status of our car. We were told they would have the vehicle ready first thing in the morning. When we arrived a few hours after opening hours it was still not ready. The "We Treat You Better" slogan from Dewey was certainly not true in our experience.

Not sure which was worse the body work or the attitudes of the staff! We picked Dewey as they were a select service center with our insurance so figured the repair would be easy and stress free, well its far from any of that! After 3 times of having our vehicle in the collision center it's still not fixed correctly. The manager did all he could to talk down our insurance company while arguing with us that the damage was not done from the accident. He refused to even look at the damage still on the vehicle and told us they did not touch that part of the vehicle, but it was included on the estimate. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE if you want quality work and professional staff to work with!

Took vehicle in for hail damage. Charged 100.00 for the estimate that was to be refundable if their service was used. Cashier could not figure out how to refund a credit card. Never received the refund, failed to remove all the dents. Wanted full payment before reviewing the work. Never again.
