Service Department at Dewey Dodge Introduce

The Service Department at Dewey Dodge, located at 3175 SE Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA 50021, USA, operates as a key component of a full-service automotive dealership. Within the comprehensive Auto Repair Stations platform category, this specific department is dedicated to providing specialized maintenance, diagnostic, and repair services primarily for Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles. As an authorized dealership service center, they offer expertise unique to Mopar (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram) brands, utilizing genuine OEM parts and factory-trained technicians.

Operating as an Auto Repair Station, this department is equipped to handle everything from routine oil changes and tire rotations to complex engine diagnostics and major component replacements. Their affiliation with the Dewey Dodge dealership means they are a trusted source for warranty work, recalls, and manufacturer-specific service bulletins, which independent shops may not have immediate access to. This specialized focus on a particular brand family often translates into a deeper understanding of vehicle systems and common issues, a distinct advantage for owners of these vehicles.

Environment and Advanced Diagnostic Approach

As part of a modern automotive dealership, the Service Department at Dewey Dodge likely offers a professional and customer-oriented environment. This typically includes a clean and comfortable waiting area for customers, often with amenities like Wi-Fi, refreshments, and sometimes shuttle services. The service bays themselves would be equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and specialized equipment designed specifically for Mopar vehicles, ensuring precise and efficient repairs.

A notable feature highlighted in the customer reviews is their innovative diagnostic approach: "They have started doing a 1 hr video to find what's wrong with your car so it motivates them to find the problem and not leave the customer waiting." This use of video diagnostics is a significant technological advancement in the automotive service industry. It provides customers with a transparent, visual explanation of their vehicle's issues, enhancing trust and understanding. This digital approach aims to improve efficiency and reduce customer wait times for diagnosis, a common pain point in car repair. It suggests an investment in modern practices to streamline the service experience.

Customers can contact the Service Department at Dewey Dodge via phone at (515) 305-3429 or mobile at +1 515-305-3429. These contact options provide direct access for scheduling service appointments or inquiring about repair statuses.

Services Offered

As a dedicated service department for a major automotive brand, the Service Department at Dewey Dodge provides a wide array of services that fall under the Auto Repair Stations umbrella, specifically tailored for Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles:

  • Routine Maintenance: This includes essential services like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and flushes, and multi-point inspections as per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Utilizing specialized tools, including their mentioned 1-hour video diagnostic process, to accurately identify complex issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other components.
  • Brake Service and Repair: Comprehensive inspection, repair, and replacement of brake system components.
  • Tire Sales and Service: Offering a range of tires suitable for Mopar vehicles, along with mounting, balancing, and alignment services.
  • Engine and Transmission Repair: Handling major repairs or replacements of these critical powertrain components.
  • Electrical System Repair: Diagnosing and fixing issues with vehicle electronics, wiring, and modules.
  • Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Service: Repair and maintenance of climate control systems.
  • Manufacturer Warranty and Recall Services: As an authorized dealership, they are equipped to perform warranty repairs and recall services using genuine Mopar parts, which is a major advantage for vehicle owners still under warranty.
  • Genuine Mopar Parts: They exclusively use or have direct access to genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Mopar parts, ensuring compatibility and often retaining vehicle warranty.

The feedback regarding a "remote start still doesn't work after replacing the thermostat and the check engine light turning off" suggests that while their diagnostic process is efficient, complex or intermittent issues may still require further investigation. This highlights that even with advanced tools, persistent troubleshooting can be necessary for certain problems.

Features and Customer Experience Insights

Customer reviews provide valuable insights into the features and overall experience at the Service Department at Dewey Dodge:

  • Advanced Diagnostic Technology: The implementation of a "1 hr video" diagnostic process is a notable feature, demonstrating a commitment to modernizing the service experience and providing transparency to customers. This method aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and communication.
  • Experienced Sales Staff (separate from service): While the reviews primarily concern the service department, the mention of "Justin is a great salesman" suggests that positive interactions can occur in other areas of the dealership, indicating a mixed bag of customer experiences across departments.
  • Problem Resolution (with escalation): One review notes that for a "warranty repair, that was actually not under warranty on a near new car," after "several follow-up call the manager called and made it right with me to my satisfaction." This indicates that while initial issues or cost expectations might arise, the dealership's management is willing to step in and resolve customer concerns, striving for satisfaction. This shows a commitment to customer retention and rectifying problems.

However, the reviews also highlight potential areas for improvement:

  • Diagnostic Completeness: The comment that "they didn't find all of my problems. The remote start still doesn't work after replacing the thermostat and the check engine light turning off" suggests that while the initial diagnosis might be quick, complex or multiple issues might require further follow-up and potentially more extensive troubleshooting.
  • Initial Customer Experience: The negative sentiment regarding the "sales manager" and "no negotiation" in the sales department, while not directly related to service, can impact overall dealership perception. It suggests that consistency in customer service across all departments might be an area for improvement.
Promotional Information and Dealership Advantages

As a franchised dealership, the Service Department at Dewey Dodge likely participates in various manufacturer-backed promotions and offers. These can include service specials, rebates on parts, discounted maintenance packages, or seasonal service events. Customers in Ankeny are encouraged to visit the official Dewey Dodge website or call their service department directly to inquire about current promotions or schedule service. Dealerships often have loyalty programs or service contracts that can offer long-term savings.

The primary promotional advantage of a dealership service department is the assurance of genuine OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and access to manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools and technical information. For owners of Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, or Jeep vehicles, this provides peace of mind that their vehicle is being serviced according to the manufacturer's precise standards. The implementation of video diagnostics further enhances their modern approach to automotive care.

In summary, the Service Department at Dewey Dodge serves as a specialized Auto Repair Station in Ankeny, particularly for Mopar vehicle owners. While customer experiences can vary across the dealership (sales vs. service), the service department demonstrates a commitment to modern diagnostics, ultimately working towards customer satisfaction through direct engagement and managerial intervention for complex issues. For those seeking expert, brand-specific care for their Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, or Jeep, Dewey Dodge offers a comprehensive solution.

Service Department at Dewey Dodge Customer Reviews

Was not impressed with the sales manager. There was no negotiation at all from them this is the number we will do that is it. Now the vehicle is priced down and they still have the vehicle. Justin is a great salesman is the only reason you get 3 starts from me.

They have started doing a 1 hr video to find what's wrong with your car so it motivates them to find the problem and not leave the customer waiting. I was pleased with the diagnosis even though they didn't find all of my problems. The remote start still doesn't work after replacing the thermostat and the check engine light turning off.

I'll never set foot in this place again. Went in at 830 am with an online appointment. I was told it would be around two hours. So, I decided to stay around. I left at around 420 pm. Throughout the day I was told "Just about another hour left" They charged me $662.99 for a backup camera that cost $48.99 to $100.00 online. This was just the camera, not the in-dash monitor. I could have had the monitor replaced with an In-dash GPS one for cheaper. To top it off after spending 7 hours and $1400.00 All I asked for was a duck I was told I would have to purchase it. REALLY. I've bought two vehicles at this location and two at their other location. All I asked for after in my opinion being overcharged and being treated so badly was a duck that probably cost them a .25.
