Came here for a smog in 2018 , decent experience, however the last 2 times I’ve been here , it has been a bad experience. First bad experience I had here was when I came in for an alignment, I was told in order to do that , I needed to get axles and motor mounts, then the alignment which would cost me around $3,000 all together or else he won’t do the alignment without those parts being replaced. The last time I came here, was a few months ago , I wanted a smog, I called a different shop down the street thinking it was Road Star, so I explained to the guy up front behind the computer at Road Star that I was told 50$ for a smog over the phone, he said “nope wrong place we charge 65$” , so I told him I rather just go to the shop down the street and save 15$, instead of price matching , he said okay and said “we are the best in town”. Hahaha obviously they are not. If you want to save money for a star smog check station go to smog check Escondido , if you don’t want to get an upsell for your basic mechanic needs go somewhere else where the owner / employees are Genuine people.

Went in first thing in the morning to get a smog and oil change and was greeted by every person I saw. They took my car immediately and gave me a very short time estimate of 2 hours, which amazingly is how long it took! I have never had such a short wait time for any car maintenance. It usually takes a shop 2 hours to plug in the diag machine and tell you an error code. The price was also extremely fair, far less than any big chain shop even when using 'coupons'. If you are tired of being haggled and conned by the big auto shops and want good, friendly service with the family feel, this is the place to go!

Great customer service and was honest about the issues for my vehicle. I saw 2 bad reviews posted here. Ignore them, they fit statistically with that small percentage of people you can never make happy. Moe and his team is very professional.
