Rainbow Muffler and Brake – Willoughby

I took my car to Rainbow Muffler and Break Service on December 27 2024. The technicians claimed that they replaced my cam shaft sensor and a crank sensor. When I picked my car up on January 3rd, 2025, my vehicle had 322 extra miles more than when I dropped it off. My antenna had been broken, and the work that they claimed the preformed had not been done . I paid $369.43 for nothing. Two days later, my check engine light came back on with the same code P219A. I took it back to Ken he said when my antenna came in, he would call me to replace it and to re inspect my vehicle. He never called back, so I took my car to another repair shop to do the work that Rainbow Muffler & Break didn't do. I ordered my own antenna and had it installed at the shop that replaced my CAMSHAFT SENSOR. It cost me $273.58 to have the CAMSHAFT SENSOR REPLACED and an additional $59.86 for the antenna. RAINBOW MUFFLER & BREAK did pay me the $60.00 for the antenna. I will never go there again they are dishonest and have no integrity. They know they didn't complete the work and should refund my money. However whatever they did to me will surely be done unto them! DO NOT GO THERE! YOU'LL BE SORRY. 🤨🤨🤨

I'll keep it as short as possible. Used to always bring my car here and never had a problem until this last time. Brought it in to have the rear struts and wheel bearings replaced because they told me it was unsafe to drive on and I had an out of state trip coming up. Was told it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow, but got a call 2 hours later saying it was ready. While on the road during my trip, I heard the sound that initially caused me to take it in. So when I got back, I took it to the dealership assuming it was something complex that Rainbow simply hadn't caught before. The dealership told me the rear struts and wheel bearings needed replacing. Dumbfounded, I took it back to Rainbow, and the individual working there that day told me nothing was done. They simply took my money and did no repairs, and this was an issue he had been encountering a lot recently because, apparently, there were a lot of internal issues. Yes, it pissed me off to be stolen from, so I didn't care about all that, I wanted the work done. To their credit, they did the work, and to compensate me, changed the windshield wipers and oil. Two things I had done the week before and would have preferred them not to have done, but I had no idea they planned to do it. I didn't stress it, they meant well. Things would have been fine there, but in the process of doing the work they were initially supposed to do and fix the rear struts and wheel bearings, whatever tech they had on it put the dust shields on wrong so now my car was making a scraping/grinding sound. This REALLY pissed me off because now they caused another problem, that after 3 times of them trying to fix/returning my car, they still couldn't figure out how to fix. I had a call with the owner, and from his explanation of techs being fired and what happened through this whole fiasco, it sounded like they simply hire incompetent techs. I was told if I bring my car in again, they'll put their best on it. You can understand why I didn't want to do that. Ever. Compensation was offered to fix my brakes for free, but I already had those replaced a week prior as well. In the end, I ended up taking it back to the dealership who fixed the dust shield problem in 1 hour. First time. It cost me $200 extra bucks, and though that's not worth pursuing the headache of legal action over, you can bet I will never bring my vehicle to this establishment again. The owner and the new manager did try to help, I'll give them that, but by the 3rd attempt on fixing a problem Rainbow caused AFTER having to fix a problem I had already paid them for and was led to believe was fixed a month prior, you can imagine why I simply don't trust the competence of their technicians or the integrity of their establishment. It's a shame really, as this used to truly be a top tier and trustworthy auto repair shop.

Rainbow muffler is a scam! Please do not take your car there! They had my car for over a month and my car is in a worse condition than when I brought it to them. They were supposed to fix my turbo charger, made me get another part because they said the part was a defective, gave me the run around about when my car would be fixed, never called to update me about my car, then they messed up my car and couldn’t tell me what was wrong with it. Bob the owner has yet to reach out to me about this manner and has not given me a refund. Worse car service ever.

Tock my car up there because there was a noise in the front wheel. They called me quick told me what was wrong. We told them to go ahead and do the job and so far we are pleased and everything is good thank you Eric for the great job and great customer service you gave me when I came up there.

Been coming here for 10 years now with all my used cars and beaters. They absolutely killed it this time with fixing my exhaust for $600 less than the dealership could. Paid a little over $300 and my car is quieter than the day I got it. I was driving around with this loud exhaust for 3 years, and it sounds silent to me know. Nice work guys.
