Performance Diesel & Automotive Customer Reviews

I had a few different issues with my diesel truck. All of the issues were fixed and it was very affordable. The turn around was quick also. I’ll definitely go back for any other work I need on my truck.

Mike is a very skilled mechanic who runs a small but busy shop. His services are in high demand but he has always been able to take the time to help me out when I'm in a pinch. His repairs are professional and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest mechanic.

We've been working with Mike for over 7 years. He maintains our fleet of vehicles and keeps everything going. Fair and good about preventative maintenance. Gotta love it when the local dealerships bring diesels for him to fix.

Id be willing to believe that Mike is an exceptional mechanic, however, he is the only employee, books himself into oblivion, and has the communication skills of a 2x4. made an appointment for wednesday, at 8:30am, the shop is 1.5 hours from me.. he started work on my truck around noon on thursday. I felt rushed out the door from the second I handed over my keys. I wanted to have a complete tune-up preformed, if for no other reason then to have an expert tell me it was ready for anything.. I ended up taking it to Les Schwabb the day after getting it back from PDA because I no longer believed that Mike had my best interest.. and would rather see me out the door then see my problems resolved. (the Les Schwabb in N Grants Pass has a killer diesel tech...(Scott, i think) free diagnostic..customer service...) good example.. I was told my rear diff was leaking.. likely, I had just put brand new fluid in it.. he said I must have done a bad job with the silicone.. I paid for new fluid, and labor time for it to be redone.. It leaks worse then before.. there were a few more issues found with the truck afterwards, that Id have expected an "expert" to notice.. and jesus fish all over the place..

No direct experience but here is my $.02, I purchased a truck with lots of receipts from this place. Very expensive. ($2040 to clean injectors and replace nozzles(parts only, not counting labor), when bosch OEM new updated injectors are only $1700) 11 months old and injector failed completely. Was hoping maybe they would cut me a good deal on replacement injector (only asking for a deal on the part not labor) PDA said it would be around $350. Again a new OEM bosch injector from big dealers is $209-219. $350 is more then it cost to go to GM dealer and buy them. Anyone paying $2000+ for injectors + labor, should be getting new OEM bosch injectors in my opinion. Also they diagnosed a problem to be a bad maf sensor. Charged $430 for a replacement sensor. That is $100 more then anywhere else I priced check. GM parts direct only wants $272. and yes I am only comparing prices on the oem GM part not chinese made replacements. Also the problem was not a MAF sensor, It was a leaking egr gaskets causing a intake leak. Simple test would show that the MAF was not the problem. I still have the old sensor which reads exactly what the new one does. I would think most mechanics would look into the issue a little more before just throwing a $430 part at it. Again, I have never been to PDR. But seeing the prices they charge and how they sold someone a $430 sensor that they didn't need I cant recommend them to anyone. I would at a minimum check around and make sure that there prices are in line and double check any diagnostic before spending big money.
