Nevada Pic A Part Introduce

Nevada Pic A Part, located at 110 W Rolly St, Henderson, NV 89015, USA, operates as a prominent self-service salvage yard within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. Unlike traditional auto parts stores that sell new or pre-pulled used parts, Nevada Pic A Part provides a unique experience where customers physically enter the yard to locate and extract the parts they need from a large inventory of end-of-life vehicles. This model caters specifically to DIY mechanics, auto enthusiasts, and anyone looking for cost-effective solutions for their vehicle repair and maintenance needs.

The environment at Nevada Pic A Part is distinctly different from a retail auto parts store. It's a vast outdoor yard filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of vehicles organized in rows. While the concept aims for accessibility, it's important for potential customers to understand the reality of such an environment. The ground may be uneven, and conditions can vary depending on weather. As one customer review indicates, the yard might have "wheels and parts and all kinds of crap laying in the way," suggesting that navigation can sometimes be challenging due to obstacles and tightly parked vehicles. Customers are expected to bring their own tools and be prepared to work in an outdoor, industrial setting. The primary goal is to offer a large selection of vehicles from which parts can be salvaged, and this often means a less manicured environment than a typical retail establishment. However, the online inventory search system allows customers to check for specific vehicles, which helps streamline the process before arriving at the physical location.

The services offered by Nevada Pic A Part are centered around the self-service model of acquiring used auto parts. The core service is providing access to a vast inventory of vehicles from which customers can "pull their own parts." This direct access allows for significant cost savings compared to purchasing new or even pre-pulled used parts from traditional retailers. Key services include:

  • Self-Service Auto Parts Access: Customers pay an admission fee to enter the yard and access the vehicle inventory. They then use their own tools to remove the desired parts. This hands-on approach is the fundamental service provided.
  • Online Inventory Search: Nevada Pic A Part offers an online tool to search their vehicle inventory by make, model, year, and specific part fitment. This helps customers determine if the vehicle they need is likely available in the yard before making the trip.
  • Environmental Responsibility/Auto Recycling: As an auto recycler, Nevada Pic A Part emphasizes its commitment to the environment. They play a role in recycling end-of-life vehicles by draining fluids (oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid, gas), removing cores that can be rebuilt (radiators, starters, alternators), and recycling ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This commitment means they are more than just a "junk yard"; they are part of a larger automotive recycling ecosystem.
  • Heavy Equipment Availability: While customers bring their own hand tools, Nevada Pic A Part provides essential heavier equipment like engine hoists and tire pullers to assist with larger component removal.

The features of Nevada Pic A Part highlight its unique operational model and value proposition. The most significant feature is the "U-Pull-It" (or "Pic A Part") concept itself, which empowers customers to retrieve parts directly, often at a fraction of the cost of new components. This direct interaction with the vehicles can also allow for a more thorough inspection of the part's condition before purchase. The vast and frequently updated inventory is another key feature, as the more vehicles available, the higher the chance customers will find the specific part they need. Their online inventory search tool is a crucial feature, enabling customers to plan their visit more effectively. They also offer a "Last Chance Savings" section, implying vehicles that are about to be removed from the yard may have even further reduced prices. The ability to find parts for a wide range of makes and models, both foreign and domestic, is another strong point.

However, it's important to acknowledge features that can be perceived as limitations or challenges based on customer feedback. One review pointed out issues with vehicle accessibility, where cars were parked too close together, making it difficult to open doors or access specific parts like window regulators. This can lead to frustration and wasted time for customers. Another customer mentioned that fuel tanks are drilled with holes, a crucial piece of information that was not communicated upfront, leading to an unproductive visit for someone specifically seeking a fuel tank. The pricing strategy for certain components was also a point of contention, with one customer stating that the price for a window regulator was comparable to a new part online, and that motors, previously included, now had to be purchased separately. These issues suggest that while the concept offers affordability, customers need to be thoroughly informed and prepared for the specific conditions and pricing policies.

Regarding promotional information, Nevada Pic A Part's primary "promotion" is its inherent low pricing for used parts compared to new or traditional retail options. This is the core value proposition that attracts customers. Beyond this, their website lists a detailed Auto Part Prices sheet, which clearly outlines the cost of various components (e.g., engine block bare, transmission, door shell, alternator) along with any associated core charges. This transparency in pricing is a form of promotion, allowing customers to budget their repairs accurately. They also host specific sales events, such as a Black Friday Sale, where they stage a number of vehicles for special pricing and open early. These sales events highlight "premium used vehicles" and aim to draw in customers seeking particularly good deals. While a veteran discount was reportedly not offered to one customer, specific discounts can vary and it's always worth inquiring directly.

Nevada Pic A Part operates with specific policies in place to manage the self-service model. There is a $2 admission fee to enter the yard. Customers are required to bring their own tools, and it's recommended to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for safety in a salvage yard environment. Given the nature of used parts, they may offer an extended warranty option on parts, which is a common practice in the industry to provide some peace of mind for buyers. The contact information for Nevada Pic A Part is (702) 565-1414 or +1 702-565-1414, located at 110 W Rolly St, Henderson, NV 89015, USA. Potential customers are encouraged to use the online inventory search and call ahead for specific details or to confirm vehicle availability, especially for high-demand parts.

In conclusion, Nevada Pic A Part in Henderson, NV, truly embodies the "Auto Repair Stations" category by empowering individuals to source their own parts for vehicle repair. Its primary appeal lies in the significant cost savings offered by its self-service "U-Pull-It" model and its role in automotive recycling. While the environment is an active salvage yard requiring customers to bring their own tools and navigate potentially challenging conditions, the extensive inventory and transparent pricing for various parts are notable advantages. Customers should be prepared for a hands-on experience and are encouraged to utilize the online inventory search and contact the facility directly to ensure a productive visit and to inquire about specific policies or promotional events like their Black Friday sales.

Nevada Pic A Part Customer Reviews

FYI, they drill holes in all of the fuel tanks, which the cockroach at the gate could have easily told me before I paid to go in, since I told him specifically that I was there for a fuel tank. I don’t believe in leaving one stars, so you get an unwarranted 5 star.

Search in the inventory, they seem to have the same cars that have been there quite a while for the particular model. I’m looking for looking for a door window regulator out of the eight cars that I found six of them I couldn’t get to the door regular and wanted to get to because the vehicles were too close together so you couldn’t open the door far enough to get the right window regulator out. In the video shows the guy walking up and down the aisles with no wheels and parts and all kinds of crap laying in the way and that’s another problem. It just seems like they’ve gone from being a really great place to go to worrying about every single profit, they can make by the window regulator, but you don’t get the motor you gotta buy that separate used to be. You could get the whole thing the price the guy gave me was price of the new one I could get online! Gotta be an alternative. I think Amazon is the alternative got the part I needed in 24 hours didn’t have to pay a two dollar entry fee. I wore my veteran hat just to see if anybody asked me about the veteran discount they didn’t every penny counts. That’s my opinion. I’ll probably still go back. Hopefully, they’ll clean up the stuff and put the cars a little more accessible, but I doubt it.

Lately, I have noticed their prices are not competitive. Interior door handle $9.71 very used obviously, carparts dot come has the same part brand new for $7.49, a simple wire connector I was charged about $8, Autozone has them for $12, rather buy new if difference is small. Clearly, if I can't find the part in their yard then I've lost $2. I really have to check online price before I go to them, it's cheaper online. Parts should be cheaper, if you don't buy the parts they go to recycle where they get pennies.

Great yard, first time through it's super organized and safe. The people in the windows are chill and Profesional. I had looked up online but had ask if they could help me locate vehicles I was looking to pull from.. happily they pulled and printed out the info and he told me wich way to head out.. To be fair I got half way into the yard and then started to wonder if I understood what he tried telling me.. kept walking in thay direction and at the end of the isle I was turning around to go ask again and it was right there to my right.. 15 minutes in a yard part pulled I got my radiator res and found a replacement gas cap for a bonus.. Prices are awsome.. i don't know why I'd have to recommend this spot, everyone should already a dy know it's the spot to stop first.. Bonus unlike other yards can bring a torch or grinder as long as have an extinguisher so it's definitely the go to from now on
