Mr. Transmission

Don’t come here. First, they quoted me a price without tax and when I later called to confirm, it was an additional $500. I was told by Adam that he had a dealer in Knoxville with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, but after paying at pickup, noted on the paperwork it was a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. Adam acted like he had communicated the change in dealer (due to original one not having it in stock) with me but he hadn’t at all. I had gotten quotes from two other mechanics that were quoting much lower prices (WITH tax included), however they offered a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. I decided to stay with Mr. Transmission based on the extended warranty even though it was a higher price. I was so furious about paying extra money due to lack of communication and poor business practices. Adam had no explanation for his error. I also paid the same price for a transmission with a much shorter warranty. I would have expected I was paying a premium for the longer warranty and the price should be less for what I received. Adam played it off like I was “getting a better transmission in the end”; totally bogus. Do not recommend. Also, Mr. Transmission’s response was that “it took some time to approve repairs”….they allowed me 5 days to respond. They knew ahead of time I would let them know in 5 days.

They were nice enough to look at my vehicle even though they were booked. I already knew from my regular mechanic that my van (2018 express van) was throwing a transmission code and it was also shifting hard in and out of gear. MR Transmission told me the transmission was shot and needed a total rebuild. He explained that this was a common GM issue. He said the cost would be $6700 and at least two weeks. I took it somewhere else and got the issue fixed in 2 days and the total cost was $2002. The place that fixed it did not need to rebuild the whole transmission and so far, my van is shifting great! I can only assume that Mr Transmission was so busy that he didn't really take the time to see what was really wrong with my vehicle and he simply decided it needed a full replacement. But I do wonder how many people are getting their transmissions replaced when they really never needed it.

These guys are amazing. Got me in quick. Honest about the issue. Fixed my truck on my timeline to fit my schedule. Even after it’s all over and my warranty people are a pain; they are calling them directly for me so all the info is correct. I couldn’t be more thankful!

They really tore my car up told them i needed my transmission look at this guy adam told me i needed a new engine so i got a engine he told me he had in his car and would run well so i went with got the car back the first time once he worked on it and oil in my coolant blew my head gasket said that we wouldnt be satisfied with the head gasket replaced so then he told me to come get the check that i gave him up front to do the work but did more damage to my car then what was already messed up i think he stole my engine and put it another car cut my wire harness all up ac stop working cam shaft sensor is messing up he kept my car for over a month in a half had to get towd to another car shop to get it fix and they said it looked like a 8 yrs old did the work so watch out for this shop

I had an excellent experience at Mr. Transmission in Asheville, NC. Adam, the owner, is absolutely amazing—he was honest and straightforward with me throughout the entire process. They inspected my transmission at no cost and provided a thorough diagnosis. What really impressed me was Adam’s willingness to give me the go-ahead to get back to my hometown, assuring me that my transmission would be fine until I could have it checked out there. Kalista at the front desk gave great customer service and kept me entertained while I waited, which made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend Mr. Transmission for anyone needing transmission services or inspection. You can trust them to do the right thing!

Called Thursday afternoon to see id they could get me in, said they could get me in 8am the next day, when I asked for a quote on how much it would cost to look at my transmission, said they didn’t charge. Adam the owner was so kind and friendly, nothing was wrong with my transmission but they wrote the codes down and noticed something wrong with the engine. Highly recommend to anyone.
