Merit Chevrolet Collision Center Introduce

For vehicle owners in Maplewood, MN, facing the aftermath of a collision or requiring significant body work, the Merit Chevrolet Collision Center offers specialized services within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. Located at 2695 Brookview Dr E, Maplewood, MN 55119, USA, this center is an extension of the larger Merit Chevrolet dealership, positioning itself as a comprehensive solution for accident-related vehicle damage. While the dealership also handles routine mechanical service, the Collision Center is specifically geared towards restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

The environment at Merit Chevrolet Collision Center, consistent with a dealership-affiliated body shop, is generally professional and structured. The aim is to provide a clean and organized facility where damaged vehicles can be assessed and repaired. While specific details about the waiting area or customer amenities for the collision center are not extensively highlighted in provided public feedback, as part of a full-service dealership, it is reasonable to expect a standard level of customer service infrastructure. This often includes a dedicated reception area for collision inquiries, and potentially, a connection to the main dealership's customer lounge and facilities. The focus of a collision center is typically on the specialized equipment and trained technicians necessary for complex body repairs, rather than elaborate customer waiting areas, though comfort and clear communication remain important.

The primary service offered by Merit Chevrolet Collision Center is comprehensive **collision repair**. This includes addressing all forms of body damage, from minor dents and scratches to major structural repairs following significant accidents. They specialize in restoring vehicles to their original, pre-collision condition, a process that involves precise frame straightening, panel replacement, paint matching, and reassembly. As a Chevrolet-affiliated center, a significant emphasis is placed on using **GM Original Equipment (OEM) parts** and following manufacturer-approved repair procedures. This commitment to OEM parts is crucial for maintaining the vehicle's structural integrity, safety features, and resale value. In addition to collision repair, the center also handles other types of cosmetic damage, such as **hail damage** and other general body imperfections. A significant part of their service involves **insurance claim assistance**, guiding customers through the often-complex process of dealing with their insurance companies. They aim to streamline this experience, providing written estimates and working directly with major insurers like State Farm (as a Select Service provider) and Farmers (as a Guaranteed Repair Program facility).

A notable feature of the Merit Chevrolet Collision Center is its stated commitment to using **GM Original Equipment parts and repair procedures**. This is a key differentiator, ensuring that repairs meet the stringent standards set by the vehicle manufacturer for safety, fit, and finish. The use of OEM parts aims to prevent unsightly gaps between body panels, ensure quick installation, and maintain the vehicle's verified build quality and structural integrity. The center also highlights its staff of **certified technicians** who possess the expertise needed for specialized collision work. Another feature is their emphasis on easing the burden of **insurance claims** for customers, providing guidance on Minnesota insurance laws and ensuring that claims are processed efficiently. This can be a significant benefit for individuals navigating the stressful period after an accident. However, it's important to note the varying customer experiences reflected in the provided reviews. While some general dealership reviews praise politeness and timeliness, specific feedback regarding the collision center suggests inconsistencies, particularly concerning the quality of repair work and communication from certain individuals. For instance, one customer explicitly expressed dissatisfaction with "Tom" and alleged poor job quality and lack of experience, requiring multiple reworks. Another review, while related to general service rather than collision, pointed to issues with basic checks (like air filter cover not being screwed back) and communication regarding parts availability and service decision-making. These instances indicate that while the center aims for high standards, individual experiences can vary, and prospective customers may wish to inquire about specific technician assignments or maintain proactive communication regarding their repair process.

While specific, distinct promotional information exclusively for the Merit Chevrolet Collision Center is not detailed in the provided information, collision centers within larger dealerships often leverage the broader dealership's promotions and customer service initiatives. These can include:

  • **GM Genuine Parts Advantage:** Promoting the benefit of using OEM parts for safety, fit, and long-term vehicle value, often contrasting it with non-OEM alternatives.
  • **Insurance Partner Benefits:** Highlighting their status as a preferred or guaranteed repair facility for specific insurance companies, which can simplify the claims process for policyholders of those insurers.
  • **Customer Service Guarantees:** Emphasizing their commitment to customer satisfaction, even if this means re-work, as hinted at by one customer's experience of returning for a rework.
  • **Dealership-wide Service Offers:** Customers visiting the collision center might also be exposed to general service promotions from the Merit Chevrolet dealership, such as discounts on routine maintenance (oil changes, tire services) or special programs for new vehicle purchases, military personnel, college students, or first responders.
  • **Online Scheduling/Estimates:** Promoting the convenience of online appointment scheduling or the ability to request an estimate for collision repair directly through their website.

Prospective customers are advised to contact the Merit Chevrolet Collision Center directly at (651) 739-4400 or +1 651-739-4400 to inquire about any current promotions or specific offers related to collision repair. Given the nature of collision repair, the primary "promotion" is often the assurance of high-quality, manufacturer-approved repairs and assistance with the insurance process, aiming to alleviate the stress of an accident. However, the varying customer feedback underscores the importance of clear communication and setting expectations for any repair work.

Merit Chevrolet Collision Center Customer Reviews

I do not recommend it, recently my 2018 toyota tacoma was there and TOM did a very poor job, zero recommendations I had to go back a second time to get my truck reworked and it still wasn't perfect. TOM has no experience in doing repairs, don't go there

Well I had them change my oil, told them just to check air filter and cabin filter. They did not screw back on the cover of the air filter, did not leave sticker in my window for when to replace oil next time. I was there for an hour, then they wanted to delay another 45 min because they said they had to order an air filter for my car. Since when do they not have air filters on hand? I said I just told u to check it . They r suppose to come and get u first to explain everything then let u decide. I declined. Paid my bill and left.

Sending a shout out to the collision center manager Will Smith and the body shop crew that repaired self-inflicted damage to my Tahoe and made it look as if it never happened. I really appreciated them being able to get me in quickly and turned the job in less than a week. I highly recommend this facility for body work repair. Thank you!!!

They did an awesome job repairing collision damage on my car! I am very impressed you would never know it was in an accident. They even cleaned the entire car inside and out. They went above and beyond and I am very pleased. Highly recommend!

I was expecting a better summary of what all was inspected in the "27 point check". Most places I've gone for an oil change / check-up have a couple pages with check marks next to each thing they looked at, followed by a sentence or two saying what state it was in and whether it might need replacing soon. This just said the 27 point check was done and I didn't get a clear summary from the mechanic I talked to. I had to ask specific questions about what was looked at a few times as he was trying to rush me to the cashier. Again, most places I've gone practically sit down with you and discuss the issues and make sure all your questions are answered. They just seemed to want me out as soon as possible. Additionally, they said they're following recommended guidelines for COVID, but the workers weren't trying very hard to maintain social distancing. I had one come up to about a foot away from me and ask me if I wanted an ice cream sandwich (took one to be polite but didn't eat it). He proceeded to go around handing out ice cream sandwiches to customers, which would normally be a nice gesture, but people took their masks off to eat and ate with their hands. This made me uncomfortable because it's pretty much defeating the purpose of masks and distancing. Probably won't be coming back.
