Lu's Japanese Car Specialist

I bought a 2012 Toyota Camry from Lu in March 2024. I did my research on his shop and him, seemed like an honest person/business. I paid $6200 cash for this car and 2 weeks ago the transmission went out. A few weeks after buying the car from Lu I brought it back in because the car was shifting weird, like a jump. Lu drove the car, we went around the block. He felt the jerk I was talking about. He did a transmission oil change for me and suggested I get new spark plugs. As time went by the jerk would happen time to time. I called Lu again and he said being that he had replaced the engine prior to me buying it, I had to drive it more. So here we are just 5 months later from buying this Lemon car he sold me. I called him when I broke down, towed car to him. Now he’s trying to charge me $3,200 (discounted rate) to fix the transmission. I don’t think this is fair, you sold me a car with a bad transmission and now you want me to dish out more $??? I’m so disappointed with Lu. He knew the transmission wasn’t good but still sold me the car. I asked him to to work with me but he sees nothing wrong with what he did. A month later I brought the car to another mechanic. He said my car had less than a quart of transmission oil!!! How!?? That’s why my transmission went out Lu. When you did the free oil change your employee must have not put enough or the right oil. So disappointed that I had to pay more money to get another transmission for my car. There’s no way my car would have burned through the oil in 5 months.

They did an amazing job on my car when I needed my whole A/C system replaced and they charged me a very fair price. They even did a deep clean of my interior, which was a nice touch. I totally recommend and I will definitely go back!

Lu is a good man and his mechanics have always done great work even on an old 4runner that needed a complete engine rebuild. 4runner is running great because of them.

Lu is an honest auto mechanic specialist. My high-mileage Toyota Sienna had some engine oil leak issues, for which there were a couple of solution options. Lu suggested to replace the old engine with a used engine. Lu did an excellent job for the engine replacement and made sure the new used engine works well with other parts. The Sienna drives very well now. Through the experience, I found Lu is an honest and highly professional auto mechanic. I trust him when my car needs to be in his shop for repairs.
