Kearny Mesa Subaru Never ever to go back to their Car Service Dept. BEWARE !!! I brought my Subaru Impresa 2019 with 50K miles on it for an Oil Change, drove it at night and I noticed 1 of of my headlights is out. It was working excellently prior to bringing it to this place. I called them about it and all they can say is "It happens". Since there was a recall I asked them instead to have my headlights be replaced. After a few weeks the headlights recall replacement has arrived, I was quite anxious as to what would be the next problem that would happen to my car since the 1st experience I had with them was very bad. I brought in my car and the very next day they called me to pick up my car after the headlights replacement was done, drove for groceries, etc. Seems ok ? I was wrong! Drove it at night and I was 30 miles away from home and the Oil Plug came off and engine Oil was flushed all over the freeway. The engine stalled and I paid a tow truck (portion of it was paid by my Insurance) to bring it to my house. I asked our neighbor mechanic and he said it is very, very rare that an oil plug comes off so either it was not properly tightened or it was sabotaged. Next morning I went to see their Car Service Manager ( Francisco ) explained to him and he seems not interested at all. He does not have qualities of a Manager to entertain complaints. He has nothing to say except "It is not our problem". I suggested to him that as a Manager you need to say to your customer that you will need to investigate. I told him there could be a possibility that the mechanic who did the Oil Change on my car is new (less experience) so he could be trained properly or somebody among your technicians is trying to sabotage the work. That's the only time he took note of my Oil Change Invoice #. This so called manager needs a lot of training. Not even an apology!!!! I bought the Oil Plug and had our neighbor mechanic to put the new Oil on my car. So far so good.

Pablo in sales returned my call at 9:05 after opening at 9am and I came in and he showed me what options I had both below and above my price point and color options and let me decide what I wanted to consider. He was great at listening to what I set as top needs and considered everything in my behalf as we worked to finalize everything with finance (Piña in Finance thank you too!!) When I made arrangements to get my old ca Rhône, they detailed the vehicle and stripped the protecting plastic and got it ready for the road and I was headed home in a few hours with my new vehicle. If you do most of your prep research for a vehicle online like I did, come visit KM Subaru to test drive and ask for Pablo to work out the price and you will be home happy and ready to hit the road in a top of the line vehicle.

I brought my 2018 Forester in for servicing after experiencing a rattling issue driving on the highway. After the inspection I was told by the manager I was working with that a wheel bearing was completely broken and needed replacing. He additionally pushed hard to replace my tires. A day and nearly $2k worth of service later I came in to pick my car up, but received conflicting reports from the mechanic that wrote the report, saying that they could not fully diagnose the issue. He described that the bearing had a crack which may have been causing the issue, but it also may have been another issue with the bushing. They did nothing to address the bushing, and did not tell me this prior to completing repairs. Four months later, the exact same issue started occurring again, and due to my poor experience the first time around I took my car to a different mechanic. They however urged that I return to the dealership to see if the newly installed part had failed and if it would be covered under warranty. I did, and upon returning for an inspection of the part, they found that it was an issue with the bushing and now the part was completely broken. Because it was not the part they had previously replaced, it was not covered under warranty and they made no accommodations for the fact that I had already spent a significant amount of money on the same issue. They quoted me $1750 for the repair, which I refused. The only positive from my experience was that they did not charge me for the re-inspection. I then took my car back to the mechanic I spoke with previously, they diagnosed the same issue and quoted me $850. $900 LESS. (Ebers St Garage in OB if you want a great experience). Would not recommend coming here for service.
