Located at 158 Cordell Rd, Schenectady, NY 12303, USA, J & J Truck and Trailer Repair operates as a specialized "Auto Repair Station" catering specifically to the needs of heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks and trailers. This establishment is a vital resource for commercial vehicle operators and fleet owners in the Schenectady area. For direct communication, they can be reached at (518) 598-4777 or via mobile at +1 518-598-4777, ensuring accessibility for urgent repair needs or scheduled maintenance.

As an "Auto Repair Station" focusing on trucks and trailers, J & J provides a critical service for the transportation industry. Unlike typical auto repair shops that primarily handle passenger vehicles, this facility is equipped to deal with the unique complexities and demands of heavy-duty machinery. This specialization means they possess the tools, knowledge, and experience required for large-scale vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair, which are essential for keeping commercial operations running smoothly and safely on the road. Their services are crucial for businesses and individuals who rely on their trucks and trailers for their livelihoods.

The **environment** at J & J Truck and Trailer Repair can be inferred from customer reviews as a professional and functional workshop setting. While one review mentions a perception of high cost for "little work" and issues with a "temporary fix," another customer clearly states, "These men know what their doing! They are Professional, Knowledgeable." This juxtaposition suggests a focus on the technical aspects of repair in a working environment. For a truck and trailer repair facility, the environment typically includes spacious bays to accommodate large vehicles, specialized equipment for heavy lifting and diagnostics, and an area for parts. It is generally a bustling place, reflective of the continuous demands of commercial trucking. The mention of "Jessie and Joe" by name in a positive review indicates a personalized approach and a core team known for their expertise, contributing to a professional and capable atmosphere. While the waiting experience or aesthetic comforts might not be highlighted, the operational efficiency and technical capability are paramount in such a specialized repair center. Their location on Cordell Rd provides practical access for large vehicles, likely away from congested city streets, facilitating easy ingress and egress for trucks and trailers.

The **services** offered by J & J Truck and Trailer Repair are specifically tailored for heavy-duty vehicles. Their primary function is comprehensive **truck and trailer repair**. This encompasses a broad spectrum of issues, from routine maintenance to complex mechanical failures. Based on the reviews, they handle various repair scenarios, although specific examples are limited. One customer sought a repair for a "2012 wabash trailer," indicating their capacity for trailer body and structural repairs. The positive review that states, "They fix the issue you tell them about! My truck runs great!" strongly suggests they provide effective solutions for mechanical problems affecting truck performance. For an "Auto Repair Station" specializing in heavy vehicles, services typically include: **engine diagnostics and repair** (diesel and gas); **transmission and drivetrain service**; **brake system repair** (air brakes common in trucks); **suspension and steering repair**; **electrical system troubleshooting**; **welding and fabrication** for structural repairs on trailers and truck chassis; **tire services** (heavy-duty tires); and potentially **preventive maintenance programs** for fleets. Given the nature of their business, they likely address issues related to Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and inspections for commercial vehicles. The specific mention of a "temporary fix with some sealer" for a trailer suggests they might offer various repair options depending on the severity of the damage and customer preference, although the outcome for that particular customer was not ideal regarding drying time.

Several **features** distinguish J & J Truck and Trailer Repair. A prominent feature is their **specialization in trucks and trailers**, which means their staff, including "Jessie and Joe," possess focused expertise and experience specific to heavy-duty vehicles. This deep knowledge is crucial for accurate diagnostics and effective repairs on complex commercial machinery. The positive feedback highlighting their **professionalism and knowledge** reinforces this feature, indicating that customers trust their technical abilities. Another key feature is their apparent commitment to **addressing specific issues** brought to them, as noted by the customer whose "truck runs great" after they "fix the issue you tell them about!" This suggests a customer-centric approach to problem-solving. While one customer experienced a negative outcome regarding a temporary fix and perceived high cost, it also highlights the shop's willingness to undertake various types of repairs, even if they deem a full repair less profitable (as in the "time consuming" trailer repair). This indicates a flexible service model. The accessibility provided by both a phone and mobile number is also a practical feature for commercial drivers who might need immediate assistance on the road or quick scheduling. For businesses, a reliable truck and trailer repair shop is a critical partner in maintaining operational continuity, and J & J strives to fulfill that role.

J & J Truck and Trailer Repair Customer Reviews

I think these guys charges too much for little work. Any figures comes to your mind just double it, and there will be no surprise. I went there thought I could get my 2012 wabash trailer fix. They told me there not much money in fixing trailer because it’s time consuming so I did overstand . So he told me the only thing he could do is a temporary fix with some sealer and he don’t guarantee how long it would last. I have the money to fix it completely because my insurance is only a $1000 deductible but to play $390 for temporary fix. Most of the time spent on the job is wait for it to dry. That thing he put on the truck I don’t know what it really is but until now it won’t dry. He told me it should only take 1/2 hr to dry but upon till right now a whole day later it won’t dry .the inside of the trailer dried very quickly the type that was used outside I don’t think he knew the nature of that product. I edited and stretch the comment because I’m a man of my words that believe in the truth. And all what I’m said is just my opinion of my experience. Other-than that they are too expensive for me, I have no other problem with that shop.
