Irvine Shade & Door Inc Introduce

Irvine Shade & Door Inc, situated at 1000 Verdant Dr, Elkhart, IN 46516, USA, operates within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. However, it's crucial to clarify that Irvine Shade & Door Inc is not a traditional auto repair shop; instead, it is a prominent manufacturer and supplier primarily serving the Recreational Vehicle (RV) industry. Founded in 1989, the company specializes in producing and distributing custom window treatments and doors specifically designed for RVs and campers. Given Elkhart's status as the "RV Capital of the World," Irvine Shade & Door Inc plays a significant role in providing essential components to RV manufacturers and, indirectly, to RV owners through their distributors. This detailed introduction will provide an objective overview of the company, its operational environment, the goods and services it provides, its distinguishing features, and any available promotional insights, based on publicly available information and customer feedback.

The environment of Irvine Shade & Door Inc at 1000 Verdant Dr is typical of a manufacturing and distribution facility catering to the RV industry. The location in Elkhart, Indiana, signifies its integration into the heart of RV production. The facility would likely comprise manufacturing lines for producing shades and doors, extensive warehousing for raw materials and finished products, and administrative offices. It's designed for efficient production, quality control, and large-scale distribution to RV manufacturers and potentially aftermarket suppliers. While a direct retail showroom for individual customers might exist, the primary business model appears to be Business-to-Business (B2B), supplying components for new RV builds and potentially replacement parts through various channels. The emphasis of the physical environment would be on streamlined operations, precision manufacturing, and inventory management rather than a typical customer-facing retail experience. The company website indicates they are family-owned and operated, manufacturing products in the U.S.A., suggesting a commitment to local production and quality control.

Irvine Shade & Door Inc offers a specialized range of goods and services tailored for the RV industry. Their core product lines include: Slow-Rise™ Roller Shades, which are a key proprietary product known for their smooth and quiet operation; Pleated Shades, a traditional and durable option for RV windows; and Mini Blinds. Beyond window treatments, they also manufacture and supply Shower Doors (including the "Slow-Roll Shower Screen"), Folding Doors, and "Seal Rite" brand Adhesive Products, which are likely used in the installation or repair of RV components. The company's focus is on providing high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing solutions that meet the specific requirements of RV living, such as space efficiency, light control, and privacy. While they are primarily a manufacturer, their services extend to providing replacement parts for their products, such as replacement springs for roller shades, which can be found through various online RV parts retailers. They also offer instructional videos on their website to assist users with installation and maintenance of their Slow-Rise roller shades, demonstrating a commitment to after-sales support for their products.

The distinguishing features of Irvine Shade & Door Inc are characterized by both strong positive aspects and some reported challenges, as reflected in customer reviews. On the positive side, a highly satisfied customer highlights the exceptional durability and functionality of their shades: "We have used Irvine pleated shades for around 25 years. We love them more than any custom shade we've known of and including among our acquaintances and now LOVE the roller shades we had the last few years used for our largest window replacements. I'd like to get all roller shades from now on, since soooo (what I'll call) 100 percent maintenance free, from dust, even though the pleated are easy, but we might not replace yet since the pleated are soooooo sturdy also even after 25 years. They all work sooooo well!!! We extremely love this company (If installed properly at least) AND the company has been great to work with!" This testimonial underscores the longevity, low maintenance, and excellent functionality of Irvine's products, particularly the "Slow-Rise™ Roller Shades" and pleated shades. It also praises the company for being "great to work with," suggesting good customer service when interactions are positive. Their proprietary Slow-Rise™ technology is a key differentiator, indicating innovation in their product design.

However, another review presents a contrasting experience, revealing a significant challenge for some customers: "I hardly ever write reviews however for this company, I’ll make an exception. All of the shades on my cedar Creek fifth wheel that’s less than a year old have these shades and it’s not a matter of if they will fail it’s win and when they do this company will do nothing for you other than send you to the distributor and charge you for each spring that needs to be replaced starting at $50 for the smallest shade. Stay away!" This feedback points to potential issues with product durability for some recent models and, more critically, challenges with their customer service approach regarding product failures. It suggests that while they are an OEM supplier, their direct support for end-users experiencing issues might be limited, redirecting them to distributors and potentially incurring costs for what customers perceive as defects. This highlights a common tension between manufacturers and end-users, where warranty claims and repair processes can be complex. The company's BBB rating of A+ indicates a generally strong business practice, but individual customer experiences can vary, particularly when dealing with product longevity and direct warranty support.

Regarding promotional information, Irvine Shade & Door Inc primarily promotes its products through its official website and potentially through B2B channels within the RV manufacturing and supply chain. They showcase their proprietary "Slow-Rise™ Roller Shades" as a key innovation. They provide video instructions for installation and maintenance on their website, which serves as a form of customer support and product promotion, demonstrating the ease of use and maintenance of their products. Given their role as a leading supplier/manufacturer to the RV industry, their promotional efforts are likely geared towards securing contracts with RV manufacturers and maintaining relationships with their wholesale clients. While they might not run direct consumer-facing promotions like "sales" on a retail basis, their products are available through various RV parts retailers, which may offer their own discounts or bundles. Customers seeking to purchase Irvine Shade & Door products or replacement parts would typically do so through these distributors (both online and brick-and-mortar) or potentially directly from the company for specialized orders. Interested parties can contact them directly at (574) 522-1446 or +1 574-522-1446 for inquiries, particularly for sourcing parts or understanding product specifications.

In conclusion, Irvine Shade & Door Inc, located at 1000 Verdant Dr, Elkhart, IN, is a specialized manufacturer and supplier of RV-specific shades, doors, and related adhesive products. While categorized under "Auto Repair Stations," its function is predominantly industrial, providing high-quality components to the RV manufacturing sector. Its distinguishing features include proprietary "Slow-Rise™" technology and a strong reputation for durability and low maintenance among some long-term users. However, it also faces challenges regarding direct customer support for product issues, often deferring to distributors. For RV manufacturers and consumers seeking specialized, U.S.-made window treatments and doors for their recreational vehicles, Irvine Shade & Door Inc remains a significant player in the Elkhart RV industry, with its products being a common component in many RVs on the market.

Bought a brand new 2024 Geo Pro back in May 2024. Went camping once. And parked it. Here I am 10 months later preparing & cleaning the unit, and 2 of the blinds are broken ? They refuse to lock into place .. after reading reviews here and noticed no replies or help from ISD, I will do my part and contact the manufacturer of my RV, and see if they are willing to help or at least let them know that they need to change suppliers, and or leave them a review.

Do not buy anything from this company. Shame on me. I have bought 5 Slow Roller Custom shades and every one has been damaged in some way. Over $1500 worth. Broken end caps, bent and broken roller mechanism's. The most recent purchase they used defective material and it has a dark line right down the middle. Now they want me to fix it myself. Me personally I think the person who made the blind knew the material was defective then broke the blind on purpose because it was packaged so well I don't know how it could have got broken,

My roller shade broke so I contacted them. They put me in touch with their supplier rvblindco for parts. It took 2 days to get ahold of someone. I ordered the spring I needed and never heard from them again. Horrible customer service and my shade is still broken. I finally received a spring and it's the wrong size.
