The features of Firestone Complete Auto Care in Westland, MI, are best understood through the contrasting customer experiences. On one hand, a highly positive review highlights several commendable features:

  • **Professional Courtesy:** Gary White and the technicians are praised for their "professional courtesy" and for treating cars "as if they were working on their own." This indicates a strong customer service orientation.
  • **Great Advice and Transparency:** Customers are informed "on what needs to be done now and what to expect in near future," with "no pressure applied." This transparency and consultative approach are highly valued by customers, fostering trust.
  • **Fast and Efficient Care:** The ability to provide "fast and efficient care" is a significant feature for busy individuals, minimizing vehicle downtime.
  • **Reliability:** The loyalty of a "three-generation family still bringing our vehicles to this Westland location" speaks volumes about the perceived reliability and consistent quality of service over time.
These positive aspects represent the ideal customer experience that Firestone Complete Auto Care aims to deliver.

However, a conflicting review reveals potential inconsistencies and areas for improvement in service delivery. This review highlights:

  • **Failure to Perform Agreed-Upon Work:** The customer paid for a complete vehicle inspection, but only wipers and a headlight were addressed, with fluids not topped off and a critical "zero oil" condition missed. This points to a breakdown in service execution and quality control.
  • **Questionable Diagnostics and Fraudulent Charges:** The attempt to charge over $2,200 for a full exhaust replacement based on a "rough engine" claim, when another shop found only a $260 resonator needed, raises serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy and potential upselling.
  • **Unprofessional Customer Interaction:** The manager's (Gary White's) "dismissive attitude" and refusal to offer a refund, coupled with the question "What do you hope to accomplish?", demonstrate a significant lapse in professional customer service and conflict resolution.
This contrasting feedback suggests that while the Westland location has the potential for excellent service, consistency across all staff members and adherence to complete, honest diagnostics are critical for customer trust. The presence of such a detailed negative experience means potential customers should be aware of the varied outcomes possible.

In terms of promotional information, Firestone Complete Auto Care, as a national chain, regularly offers various deals and coupons. While not specifically detailed in the provided customer reviews for this location, general Firestone promotions often include:

  • **Tire Rebates and Discounts:** Offers like "up to $160 In Savings when you buy four Firestone Firehawk tires" or similar rebates on other tire brands (e.g., Bridgestone, Firestone All Season tires) are common. These often involve a Firestone Prepaid Mastercard® or bonus savings when using a Firestone Credit Card.
  • **Service Discounts:** Promotions such as "$20 Off Any $100 Service Purchase" or specific discounts on A/C performance checks and brake services are frequently available.
  • **Financing Options:** Firestone often provides special financing options, such as deferred interest periods, through their Firestone Credit Card.
  • **Online Scheduling Perks:** Encouraging customers to book appointments online to save time and streamline the process.
  • **Free Inspections:** Offering free vehicle inspections, brake checks, and battery checks as a way to attract customers and identify service needs.
These promotions aim to provide value and incentivize customers to choose Firestone for both their tire and auto repair needs.

In conclusion, Firestone Complete Auto Care at 6885 N Wayne Rd in Westland, MI, presents itself as a full-service "Auto Repair Station" equipped to handle a wide range of vehicle needs from basic maintenance to complex repairs. While some customers have experienced exemplary service characterized by professionalism, honesty, and efficiency, others have encountered significant issues related to diagnostic accuracy, service completion, and customer interaction. The facility’s commitment to comprehensive service offerings and frequent promotional deals makes it an accessible option for many. However, the varying customer feedback underscores the importance of clear communication and ensuring all agreed-upon work is completed diligently for a consistently positive customer experience.

Firestone Complete Auto Care Customer Reviews

Gary White and Technicians from the Westland location treat your car as if they were working on their own. Professional courtesy, great advise provided, fast and efficient care given to your vehicle and inquiries. You will be informed on what needs to be done now and what to expect in near future. No pressure is applied. This is not expected to see these days from repair facilities. I have used other Firestone locations, but be sure to bring your car here for service you can count on. We are a three generation family still bringing our vehicles to this Westland location.

Note: This review is for the Westland Firestone Complete Auto Care (Wayne Rd.) The requested work included: checking/topping all fluids, replacing all wipers, replacing the passenger low beam, rotating tires, and a complete vehicle inspection. Only the wipers and headlight were done. Gary White attempted to charge me $2,213.14 for a full exhaust replacement, claiming the engine was running rough. Despite my paying for a complete inspection, he didn’t identify the cause. Another shop, Mr. Muffler, found I only needed a resonator ($260) and revealed my engine had zero oil, which a proper inspection should have caught. Gary was unprofessional, refused to offer a refund, and repeatedly asked, “What do you hope to accomplish?” His dismissive attitude, fraudulent charges, and failure to perform the agreed-upon work are unacceptable. I will not return to this location and will actively discourage others from doing so. Gary White should be held accountable.

My low tire pressure light came on. This h ever happened before. The service guy checked out my car to make sure there was nothing wrong and put air in my tires. There is no charge. That's why I go there for my tires. Friendly and helpful.

they did try to make this right but i wasnt looking for anything free... took my vehicle in to have brand new tires i bought installed told me they HAD to have the stickers on them for them to install them.. makes no sense you guys wont installed used tires under 10 years old?? had a spare wheel that needed installed in place of one on the vehicle it had curb damage .. i was told they would have to sell me a new TPMS because they couldn't program the one that was already installed in the wheel.. tried telling me you program the vehicle to the tpms and you can only do it once.. hmm how do people swap from summer to winter tires all the time.. then after i think they realized i knew better but not gonna saying anything till after the job was done, then all of a sudden they said they got it to work because it was the same year........ then once i got home.. the TPMS that was in my old wheel that came off was broke so they broke the TPMS sensor on the wheel they removed. i didnt even want them to remove the tire on that wheel.. i didnt even know this happen till i got home and unloaded my old tires and wheel. i was also told they couldnt perform an alignment because no one that was there that day knew how to do it i also had arranged an appt my vehicle didnt get taken in for service till a half hour after and it took them over 2 hours to mount 3 tires and balance 4 since one new tire was already on the replacement wheel it just needed a balance also got charged for low profile tire installation what a 5" side wall is considered low profile?
