CMGL AUTO AND DETAIL LLC

0/10 would recommend. CMGL is giving me the runaround for a refund and I hope potential customers will beware before using this business. I was looking to have my oil changed and a glitchy sensor light checked. Yelp sent my inquiry to several businesses and CMGL (Chris) responded almost immediately. I was I initially impressed at how quickly he reached out and arranged to come to my house to check out the vehicle. Chris ran a diagnostic and told me I didn't need an oil change but that I did need new tires and new windshield wipers. He replaced the wipers and said the tires for my car were in stock so he could replace those the next day, Friday. However, Chris said that he needed the money for the tires up front and that his credit card machine was not working so he would accept only cash, CashApp, or Zelle. I thought it was weird that a mechanic could not accept a credit card but I agreed to pay cash up front so he could order the tires. He was very insistent that he needed the money for the tires to order them. I realize now that he would only accept forms of payment where you have zero consumer protection. I did not hear from Chris on Friday, nor all weekend, confirming that he had ordered the tires and to schedule a time to install them. The following Monday, Chris called to tell me that the distributor was having trouble processing his payment and he had not been able to order the tires yet. I believe now that he never ordered the tires and took my money. On Tuesday morning, it was raining while I drove to work so I turned on the windshield wipers. Less than a mile from my house, one of the wipers literally popped right off. I pulled out and took pictures of the now-missing wipers and sent them to Chris. He called me later that afternoon to say he could fix them but he never scheduled a time to correct his faulty job. I also requested a refund for the tires since I was not confident that they had been ordered, and even if they were, that they would not fall off after they had been installed given what happened with the wipers. Chris said that he would issue me the refund but that it would take some time because he had already ordered them. He needed to wait for the tires to arrive, send them back, and get his refund from the distributor before he could send me the refund. It has been two weeks and I still have not received the refund. Chris has endless excuses as to why he has not provided the refund. At one point, Chris told me to stop asking for updates because he was getting irritated and frustrated, despite the fact that he has failed to refund me. He has since stopped responding to my inquiries for an updates on when he will issue my refund and ghosted me. If you choose to do business with CMGL, which I do not recommend, pay only with a debit card or credit card so that you have consumer protection. If he will not accept that, walk away and find someone trustworthy.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had a good experience with him on my car so I referred him to my mom. The reason I'm writing this review is because he dealt with me and not her. Her car had been sitting for years and needed a lot of work. At first, everything was going good. Quoted her a good price. Unfortunately, it took him 2 months to get the car back to my mother. He said that he ordered tires and when he hadn't received them for 3 weeks, we just canceled them and took it somewhere else for tires. He also said that the alternator might need replacing so I had given him money for that but then he came back and said it was fine. He got coolant in the engine and said he would come to my mother's house to change the oil that HE messed up. That never happened. He also never gave me any of the money back. The money for the tires, alternator and the oil change that he was supposed to do but didn't. He made excuses as to why he couldn't repay me and said that his nor his wife have a job that is a constant paying job. I found out today that his wife indeed does have a job where she gets paid on the regular. I believe that he didn't even order the tires to begin with and just kept the money. Even if he did order them, he certainly didn't refund me when the company refunded him. In total, he owes me $730.98 and refuses to pay. I'm going to have to take him to court to get the money he owes me. Also, his communication skills are terrible. He almost never messaged me first. I was always the one asking when the car would be done instead of vice versa. This is certainly not a way to run a business and have repeat customers. Shame on this man for making us go through this.

Amazing experience with CMGL Auto - we were driving from Arizona to Oklahoma and our car started overheating. We called and they picked up the phone on the first call. We were able to drive to their location and they already had the parts ready to go when we arrived. This business is fair and is not overpriced, is knowledgeable, super friendly and accommodating - and they got my car up and running super fast so we could get back on the road. A+ and highly recommended!

Needed a fair price for brakes and an oil change. This gentleman was quick to give us a estimate within minutes. He came to our house next day and despite all the hiccups he stayed till the job was done and did everything he could to help us out without breaking my bank. He changed my oil , checked my rotors and got my brakes fixed. Very friendly and honest guy. I will never use break masters again.

I met Chris when he was shopping with his wife and children at Smiths. Chris had on his Uhaul uniform so I asked about a hitch installed. Chris said he had auto business and could do it for me. In a nut shell Chris took the cash money I gave him to order the part in October and gave me the runaround for 2 months and won’t respond to my text or phone calls. Don’t use this guy.
