This establishment aims to address challenging automotive issues, providing services that range from in-depth diagnostics to major component installations and repairs. The shop’s ability to tackle significant vehicle problems is evident in some customer feedback, highlighting their capacity to restore vehicle performance.

Environment and Operational Focus

The operational environment at Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair centers around specialized automotive work, particularly concerning the internal mechanics of vehicles. As the name suggests, their primary expertise lies in engine-related issues, suggesting a workshop equipped for intricate diagnostics, rebuilds, and replacements. The nature of engine repair often requires a focused and problem-solving approach, which is evident in the positive review where a rough-idling, underpowered car was quickly fixed. The facility is expected to handle complex machinery and detailed work, requiring experienced technicians to navigate the intricacies of modern and older engine systems. The shop's internal setup is designed to facilitate detailed examination and precise execution of engine-specific tasks, aiming to deliver solutions that are both effective and durable.

Services Offered and Goods for Sale

As an "Auto Repair Station" emphasizing engine repair, Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to address major mechanical and electrical challenges within vehicles. While specific goods for direct sale are not detailed in the reviews, the provision of repair services inherently involves the use and installation of various automotive parts. Their core services, based on their name and available information, likely include:

  • Engine Repair and Overhauls: This is their primary specialization, covering everything from minor engine issues to complete engine rebuilds or replacements. This would involve diagnosing complex internal engine problems and performing necessary repairs to restore optimal performance, including addressing issues like rough idling, underpowered conditions, and other performance discrepancies.

  • Transmission Installation: Beyond engines, they also handle transmission installations, indicating their capability to work on another critical and complex powertrain component. This includes both automatic and manual transmission systems.

  • Brake Installation: Providing essential safety services, they conduct brake installations, ensuring the vehicle's braking system (pads, rotors, calipers, lines) is fully functional and reliable, which is paramount for driver safety.

  • Electrical Diagnostics: Modern vehicles rely heavily on intricate electrical systems. Their ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues, including wiring problems, sensor malfunctions, and module programming, is crucial for overall vehicle functionality and troubleshooting check engine lights.

  • Oil Changes: As a fundamental aspect of vehicle maintenance, routine oil changes are likely offered to ensure engine longevity and performance, using appropriate oils and filters for different vehicle types.

  • Programming: This suggests capabilities in handling vehicle computer systems, including reprogramming or flashing modules, which is increasingly necessary for modern vehicle repairs, resolving software-related performance issues, and integrating new components.

  • Suspension Repair: Addressing issues related to the vehicle's suspension system, including shocks, struts, control arms, and bushings, which is vital for ride comfort, handling, and tire longevity. This ensures proper alignment and vehicle stability.

  • General Mechanical Repairs: While specializing in engines, a comprehensive auto repair station typically handles a range of other mechanical issues that might arise in a vehicle, providing a more holistic repair service.

  • Troubleshooting Complex Problems: One customer explicitly mentions their ability to troubleshoot a "tricky problem" and fix it, suggesting a strong diagnostic capability beyond basic repairs, which is particularly valuable for intermittent or hard-to-diagnose issues.

In terms of "goods for sale," while they do not operate as a retail auto parts store in the conventional sense, their services involve the procurement and installation of various vehicle components. Customers can expect that any necessary parts for their repairs will be sourced and provided by the shop as part of the service, ranging from engine components like distributors and carburetor spacers to more general wear-and-tear items.

Features and Customer Experience

The customer experiences at Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair, as reflected in the provided reviews, present a notably divergent picture. This indicates that while some customers may have highly positive interactions and outcomes, others have encountered significant issues. Analyzing both perspectives helps form a comprehensive understanding of the shop's features:

  • Capability for Complex Engine Work: One positive review highlights the shop's effectiveness in quickly resolving a severe engine performance issue ("Idoled rough. 2500 rpm+ underpowered.") and getting the car "back on road" with improved performance and gas mileage. This suggests they possess the technical skill to perform complex engine diagnostics and repairs successfully, demonstrating their expertise in critical automotive functions.

  • Speed and Efficiency in Certain Cases: For the positive experience, the problem was "fixed in 2 days," indicating a capacity for quick turnaround when conditions allow. This "100% Speed" is a significant benefit for customers needing their vehicles back quickly, minimizing disruption to their daily routines.

  • Professional and Friendly Crew (for some): The positive review also mentions a "professional friendly crew" and "100% Value," suggesting that when service goes well, the staff are perceived positively and the work provides good value for the cost incurred.

  • Significant Concerns Regarding Professionalism and Honesty (for others): A highly critical review details severe issues with the shop's conduct, including alleged missing parts from an engine (specifically mentioning a distributor, distributor cap, and carburetor spacer), broken agreements regarding delivery of a customer's engine after payment, extended holding of a vehicle (over 8 months), and inconsistent explanations from Robert, a key individual. This strongly suggests potential issues with transparency, accountability, and project management. The offer to "replace the parts that HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK off my damn engine" and then offering cash further compounds these concerns about integrity and business practices. The discrepancy in reasons given for not delivering the engine and the alleged removal of parts without consent are serious points of contention raised by this customer.

These contrasting reviews underscore the importance of due diligence for potential customers. While the shop clearly has the technical capability to perform certain types of repairs well, the negative feedback points to potential inconsistencies in customer communication, adherence to agreements, and the handling of customer property. Therefore, prospective clients should exercise caution and gather as much information as possible.

Promotional Information and Accessibility

Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair is conveniently located at 1605 Baltimore Dr, Clarksville, TN 37043, USA. They can be contacted via phone at (931) 552-1500 or through their mobile phone at +1 931-552-1500. While no explicit promotional offers or discounts are detailed in the provided information, the value proposition, for some customers, lies in their ability to perform complex engine work effectively and quickly, potentially saving a vehicle from being "Totaled" and providing a "100% Value" when the service is successful. However, given the mixed customer feedback, prospective clients should be particularly cautious and engage in clear, detailed, and ideally documented agreements regarding the scope of work, expected timelines, costs, and any specific terms (like delivery services) before committing to services, especially for major projects involving engine removal or extensive repairs. A personal consultation, asking specific questions about their process for handling customer parts, and getting all agreements in writing would be highly advisable for anyone considering Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair for their vehicle needs to ensure expectations are aligned and potential issues are mitigated.

Clarksville Automotive Engine Repair Customer Reviews

I write this to allow you to make your judgement, but after sending people to this shop... they or me won'tbe back. I liked Robert, but when things go missing off my engine...not cool at all. I paid him 400 dollars to bring my engine to my home as part of the agreement, and he held my engine in his shop for over 8 months, and then change the agreement saying that he doesn't do delivery after taking 400 cash to take out my engine and deliver it. At first he told me that his lift cracked and couldn't do it, then he was too busy and finally he changed the agreement saying he doesn't do delivery. When me and my friend Griff picked up my engine, bc he obviously wasn't bringing it, I noticed my distributor was removed. When I said something to Robert he said he needed to remove it to take the engine out. I said where is the button at, he said he would get me another. I was like ok, but other things felt missing. So, I go back and look at a quick video that I took while he was working on a car a week after he removed it and said his lift was broke (I had a bad feeling is why I took a video). I go back and look at it and sure enough my distributor and BLACK distributor cap were on the engine. As was my spacer for the carburetor that was ALSO now missing. When I called Robert, he offered to replace the parts that HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK off my damn engine. He then said that he had to take it off bc the built a table over it...a totally different reason than he gave before. Then, he changed his mind and offered me cash. I stopped by and grabbed the 50 dollars and dodged a bullet from doing anymore business over there! I am adding the video and a photo that I took when Griff and I got my engine to my home. I would strongly recommend not going here to anyone! I have the texts saved of our conversations

I have used Clarksville automotive engine repair several times and I am always confident the work will be of high-quality. Robert runs his shop to be very ethical and reliable. They have done work for my family members as well as myself and it has always been a great experience. I would 100% recommend to anyone who needs their auto repaired at a reasonable price.

As a single woman I haven’t alway trusted businesses when I deal with auto repair. I’ve always thought they were overcharging me. When I checked into Clarksville automotive and engine repair I found this not true for all. Robert was very attentive towards me and all my concerns about my 2012 Nissan Altima. I neglected repairs throughout the years and had several issues. Thinking it might need a new motor I was prepared for the worse as another shop had suggested. According to Robert this was not the case and it cost me half of what I was expecting. Very thorough and fair price. Saved me over half of a new motor would have and runs great!! I recommend this to anyone looking for good ( great) service. Friendly and honest auto mechanics are hard to find. Thanks Robert for all you did for me.

My only regret is that I didn’t take my truck to Robert (the owner) sooner. He’s good people and very knowledgeable. Doesn’t price gauge or feed you bogus diagnostics. Years of experience and a professional. Highly recommend y’all make this your immediate stop for anything engine related with your issue.
