I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at this Volkswagen dealership on April 9, 2025. I went there to program a key for my brother-in-law’s car. He lives in Florida and had purchased the key from a Volkswagen dealership in Miami. He sent me the key, and I took the vehicle to this location to have it programmed. Unfortunately, the key turned out to be incorrect, so I went to the parts department to see what could be done. There, a bald man with light eyes treated us terribly. He refused to help or even listen to our situation, simply stating that my brother-in-law had to be present in person — even though he was willing to send a notarized letter authorizing me to handle the issue, along with all the receipts from the original purchase. The man dismissed everything without even reviewing the documents. He was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He even spoke disrespectfully to my brother-in-law over the phone, treating him like he didn’t understand English — which he does, fluently, though with an accent. This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this dealership. If you value respectful and helpful service, I suggest driving a little farther to another location. This one is not worth your time or energy.

Placed an order online at 9:31 this morning for some wiper blades thinking that it's much simpler to get the order in online than to have to give them the VIN and have them look it up and then pick the item if I just showed up at the counter without ordering in advance. Arrived at 11:50am, 10 minutes before closing, to pick up the wiper blades. After giving the gentleman my name and that I had an online order, he looked it up and got a sour look on his face and said "you should wait until you get an email confirming your order is ready", to which I replied "I figured placing the order online is easier and faster for everyone than placing it at the counter", which he replied "I've got a lot of things to do, I'm not a gumball machine spitting out orders". Ok It didn't bother me one bit that the order wasn't picked and ready when I arrived, but the attitude was completely unnecessary. Fundamentally, it shouldn't have mattered if I placed the order online immediately before I walked in the front door verses walking in and placing my order in person at the counter. The correct statement should have been something like: "We haven't had a chance to pick this order yet, but I'll go grab that right now for you." He had the order right in front of him with the exact part I needed and the payment was already completed. Far simpler than if I walked in and placed the order right then. I own a business that allows customers to place their orders and pick them up. If an order isn't ready when a customer arrives, even if they placed the order in the parking lot and walked in, we simply say "give me just a second and we'll bring that out for you". Simple, straight forward, and friendly to the customers that pay our paychecks. The only reason I purchased at Byers and not the VW dealer that is 20 minutes closer to me was the price, and that is also the only reason I'm leaving a 2 star review and not a 1 star review. I imagine the dealer closer to me will match those prices anyway, and after calculating the gas I spent I didn't save any money in the first place. This interaction makes me not want to purchase parts from Byers in the future, and also makes me less likely to use Byers for my next car purchase. Customer service and understanding who pays your paychecks is important in business.
