  • Tire Leak Repair: One customer specifically mentioned a positive experience with a tire leak repair, indicating their capability in handling tire-related issues. They also offer general tire services, as suggested by their name "Bob's Auto and Tire" in some listings.
  • Oil Changes: A fundamental part of vehicle maintenance, typically offered by most auto repair shops.
  • Brakes: Servicing and replacement of brake components are standard offerings.
  • Tune-ups: Regular maintenance to ensure optimal engine performance.

Features and Customer Experience

Bob's Auto Repair exhibits a mixed reputation based on customer reviews, highlighting different facets of their service. A significant positive feature, as noted by one customer, is the perceived friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. This customer praised them as "the nicest bunch of repairmen" and appreciated their willingness to fix a tire leak without charge, indicating a customer-centric approach and a willingness to go the extra mile, especially for minor issues. This positive experience also points to "very reasonable prices" for other work, suggesting that they aim to be an affordable option for auto repairs in the area. This affordability can be a major draw for many customers looking for cost-effective solutions for their vehicle maintenance.

However, another review details a highly negative experience, particularly concerning body work after a deer collision. This customer reported dissatisfaction with the quality of the repair, citing issues such as mismatched paint, misaligned body panels, and the reuse of a still-damaged hood. This feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality of work, particularly in specialized areas like body and paint. The allegation of misrepresentation to an insurance company also raises concerns about transparency and trustworthiness in certain situations. This stark contrast in experiences underscores the importance of clear communication and setting expectations, especially for more extensive or specialized repairs.

Promotional Information and What to Consider

Bob's Auto Repair appears to promote itself on the basis of affordability and a friendly customer service approach for general auto repairs. Their willingness to handle smaller issues, like tire leaks, at no charge, and offer "very reasonable prices" for other work, suggests an emphasis on value for money. This would be attractive to customers looking for budget-friendly automotive solutions. The positive experience of a new resident finding them reliable and becoming a repeat customer speaks to their ability to build rapport and trust through certain services.

For local users in Troy, OH, considering Bob's Auto Repair, it's important to weigh these varied experiences. For routine maintenance, tire services, or minor mechanical issues, their perceived affordability and friendly service might make them a suitable choice. However, for complex body work or repairs requiring a high degree of precision in aesthetics, customers might want to inquire about specific guarantees, review previous work examples if possible, and ensure a clear understanding of the repair process and expected outcomes. Communicating expectations clearly and perhaps starting with smaller jobs to gauge satisfaction could be a prudent approach before entrusting them with more extensive and intricate repairs. Overall, Bob's Auto Repair presents itself as a local auto service center aiming to provide accessible and reasonably priced car care, with individual customer experiences varying depending on the nature of the service required.

Bob's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Never again will I come to this place. My wife hit a deer in our van and they said they could do the work to repair it. I asked if it would be professional and look good and they said yes. It was horrible. Paint didn't match, body panels weren't aligned, even reused my hood which was still slightly buckled. They lied to my insurance about how much it would cost to fix it. They do have good prices on auto repairs but definitely not trust worthy. If you have a nice vehicle, don't come here.

New to area and stumbled upon the nicest bunch of repairmen that I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Fixed my tire leak and didn't even charge me. They do lots of other work at very reasonable prices. I'm thankful to have found them, and they will be my go to for me and family members in the future. Thanks Bob & crew. See ya again soon.

So glad my dad recommended this place to me. The owner was super friendly over the phone, quoted getting my brakes replaced at a much lower price than others in the area and was able to get me in the same day for next day pick up. To my surprise I receive a phone call from the friendly mechanic, Eddie, 2 hours later that he and Bob got my car done and it's completely finished and ready for pick up! I had them do an oil change as well. All for a great price and great customer service. They have a new and loyal customer out of me. Thanks guys!

Shady operation, be cautious. They diagnosed my transmission leak incorrectly as a power steering leak. They ended up doing more harm then good by tearing into something that didn’t need replaced and charged me a boat load for their nonsense. Had to bring my vehicle back 3 separate times for them to try and correct their mistakes and still couldn’t get it figured out. Ended up going to another shop who did a proper diagnostic and paid a fraction of what I gave these guys to damage something that was working fine. Don’t leave vehicle with them or you will be left out of the loop, make sure you supervise the work done. Waste of time and money

I have always had really good service with Bob's,,they are very honest about what needs to be done to your vehicle and not feed you a bunch of extra costs that don't need to be done. I have been doing business with them for at least 5 years or more and will continue to. The bigger the business is not always the best option..take time to talk to them about your vehicle concerns and give them a chance to see if they can help you. You may be surprised at what you learn through their conversations and knowledge. An auto repair shop that doesn't take advantage of women or people without auto repair knowledge.
