Walmart Auto Care Centers Introduce
Located at 11493 N Linden Rd, Clio, MI 48420, USA, the Walmart Auto Care Centers in Clio, Michigan, serves as a popular and accessible option within the "Auto Repair Stations" category. This center, an integral part of the larger Walmart Supercenter, aims to provide convenient and typically budget-friendly solutions for basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs. You can reach them by phone at (810) 564-4270 or via mobile at +1 810-564-4270.
The environment of a Walmart Auto Care Center is generally designed for efficiency, with multiple bays to handle a high volume of vehicles. While the primary focus is on getting vehicles in and out quickly, customers benefit from the convenience of being able to shop within the main Walmart store while their vehicle is being serviced. This integrated approach allows individuals to multitask, making use of their waiting time. The service area itself is typically functional rather than luxurious, prioritizing the flow of operations. However, customers can expect standard amenities within the broader Walmart store, including restrooms, seating, and a wide array of retail offerings.
The services offered at Walmart Auto Care Centers are primarily focused on essential and routine vehicle maintenance. These include:
- Oil Changes: A core service, often available with various types of oil (conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, high-mileage) and typically including a new oil filter and chassis lubrication where applicable.
- Tire Services: This is a significant aspect of their offerings, encompassing tire installation, balancing, rotation, flat tire repair, and pressure checks. They sell a range of passenger, light truck, and SUV tires from various brands.
- Battery Services: Including battery testing and replacement, often with free installation if the battery is purchased from Walmart.
- Fluid Checks and Top-offs: Covering essential fluids like transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
- Wiper Blade & Air Filter Installation: Often offered as a free service if the parts are purchased from Walmart.
- Headlight Services: Such as headlight restoration and bulb installation.
- General Maintenance: Including some basic checks and minor adjustments to help keep vehicles running smoothly.
It's important to note that Walmart Auto Care Centers generally do not perform complex engine diagnostics, major mechanical overhauls, or intricate electrical repairs beyond basic battery issues. Their model is geared towards quick, accessible, and affordable basic automotive care.
Key features of Walmart Auto Care Centers often include their competitive pricing, which can be a significant draw for budget-conscious consumers. The ability to schedule appointments online for certain services, or to simply drive up for walk-in service (though wait times may vary), adds to their convenience. They aim to provide a streamlined experience where customers can drop off their vehicle and pick it up after completing their shopping. The technicians are often certified, though the level of specialized training may vary compared to dedicated brand dealerships or independent high-end repair shops. Walmart also frequently offers a selection of automotive parts, oils, fluids, and accessories for sale within the center or the main store, allowing customers to purchase items for DIY car care.
However, it is crucial for potential customers to consider the experiences of other users, as these can offer insights into the actual service quality. Several reviews from real customers highlight potential areas for improvement:
"My husband and I made an appointment for 2:30pm to get an oil change. We were told it would take 30 minutes... Unfortunately, it took an hour and a half for them to complete our oil change, and we were met with rudeness and a horrible attitude from Jackie in the Auto Center when we went back after an hour expecting our car to be done. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Would not recommend going to Walmart’s Auto Center, ever. Cheaper is not worth your wasted time."
This review points to potential issues with appointment adherence, wait times, and customer service. The expectation of a quick turnaround was not met, leading to significant inconvenience for the customer.
Another detailed review raises serious concerns regarding handling and responsibility for damage:
"During a routine service of my (TPMS) tire pressure sensors, they ruined my tire. Walmart was supposed to replace the sensors in which the batteries had died and check for a leak in a tire. The technician who was taking the tire off the rim accidentally sliced the sidewall of the tire and put an 8-10” hole in the tire, rendering it unusable... Initially the team lead said that Walmart would take care of damages, but then offered my wife a lower quality tire as replacement which she refused as it was mismatched from the OE factory set... The manager of the service center who then said they could offer me a credit of half for a full set of tires, give me a lower end replacement or I could purchase the tire myself and they would reimburse but would not put the tire on as my tires are “At or below 60% tread life, so we will not replace one without replacing all 4”... My pregnant wife is now without a vehicle so I can continue to make it to and from work while she figures out how in this winter weather to get my 6 year old to and from school."
This extensive feedback reveals significant challenges with technician competence, accountability for damages, and adherence to company policy regarding tire replacement for all-wheel-drive vehicles. The situation escalated into a major inconvenience and financial burden for the customer, highlighting potential inconsistencies in service quality and customer dispute resolution processes.
Promotional information for Walmart Auto Care Centers typically revolves around their "everyday low prices" and various rollbacks on automotive products and services. You can often find deals on specific oil change packages, tire brands, and battery replacements. They frequently advertise the convenience of getting vehicle service while shopping. Some common promotions might include:
- Special pricing on popular motor oils (e.g., Mobil 1) in various types.
- Rollbacks on specific tire brands and sizes.
- Bundled deals for tire installation packages, often including mounting, balancing, and valve stems.
- Discounts on preventative maintenance services.
Customers are encouraged to check the Walmart website or inquire directly at the Auto Care Center for the most current promotions. While the affordability and convenience are attractive, the customer reviews suggest that users should manage expectations regarding service speed, the breadth of services, and potential issues with handling unexpected complications or damages. It is advisable for customers to clearly communicate their needs, confirm pricing and service timelines, and retain all documentation.

My husband and I made an appointment for 2:30pm to get an oil change. We were told it would take 30 minutes. We have a 2 month old, so its very important for us to stay on a schedule for feedings, especially because the Walmart employees use the mothers nursing room as a place to play on their phones, vape, and smoke while I sit outside with my screaming baby waiting to be fed. Cheaper is not worth your wasted time.

During a routine service of my (TPMS) tire pressure sensors, they ruined my tire. Walmart was supposed to replace the sensors in which the batteries had died and check for a leak in a tire. The technician who was taking the tire off the rim accidentally sliced the sidewall of the tire and put an 8-10” hole in the tire, rendering it unusable. Mind you it was the wrong tire they took off to test for a slow leak. I told them rear drivers side. They took off rear passenger. Initially the team lead said that Walmart would take care of damages, but then offered my wife a lower quality tire as replacement which she refused as it was mismatched from the OE factory set. I later called the manager of the service center who then said they could offer me a credit of half for a full set of tires, give me a lower end replacement or I could purchase the tire myself and they would reimburse but would not put the tire on as my tires are “At or below 60% tread life, so we will not replace one without replacing all 4” Stating if I want them to fix it to the condition in which I gave it to them then I must come out of pocket the approximately $1,504 Plus tax to purchase a new set. Company policy states on an all wheel drive vehicle they must replace all 4 tires if they are below the 60% threshold. They will then reimburse me $376 plus tax for the 1 tire they had destroyed. The $90 service has now turned into a nightmare. My vehicle is now parked and unusable unless I come out of pocket over $1,000 near Christmas or risk causing further damage to my drivetrain. My pregnant wife is now without a vehicle so I can continue to make it to and from work while she figures out how in this winter weather to get my 6 year old to and from school. I went into Walmart to file a claim with the store manager who would not come to speak with me and instead had an assistant manager file the claim for her. The said claim could take up to 6 weeks so unless I spend my own money I will be without a car until it is settled.

Had a flat tire. Put enough air in it to get up there. Since I paid for road hazard, I didn't have to pay. I really appreciate the gentleman that fixed my tire. Thanks Wally world

Simple, easy time to get battery installed No upselling on any add on services, nor trying to sell a high tech "advanced" design battery.

I would give no stars if possible, I arrived before 10 am with a 11am appointment. Took my truck in at 10:40 for a tire leak. They found a small nail and the repair took until after 12 noon. So if you have 1:30 hours to get a tire patched. This may be a good place for you to get it done.
