S & S Auto Parts & Salvage Introduce

S & S Auto Parts & Salvage, located at 3455 Field Rd, Clio, MI 48420, USA, functions as a dual-purpose establishment within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. While primarily a salvage yard and auto parts provider, its offerings directly support and interact with the auto repair ecosystem, making it a critical resource for mechanics, DIY enthusiasts, and individuals looking to dispose of or acquire vehicle components. The business can be reached via phone at (810) 687-1430 or mobile at +1 810-687-1430.

The environment at S & S Auto Parts & Salvage presents a mixed picture based on customer feedback. One review describes it as a "Great place! Great location! Better than the backyard!!" and specifically highlights a "Well maintained yard." This suggests an organized and accessible outdoor space, which is crucial for a salvage operation where customers might be looking through various vehicles. The positive comment about unloading heavy items further implies that the facility is equipped to handle the logistics of vehicle parts and scrap metal, likely with appropriate machinery or assistance available. However, another review paints a starkly different picture of the customer service aspect of the environment, particularly over the phone and upon arrival, indicating that while the physical yard might be well-maintained, the human interaction can be problematic. The contrast in reviews suggests that while the physical infrastructure might be conducive to its operations, the customer service experience can vary significantly.

As an "Auto Repair Station" category participant, S & S Auto Parts & Salvage offers a range of services centered around recycled and salvaged auto parts. Their core business involves dismantling vehicles and selling usable components. This includes everything from engines, transmissions, and axles to smaller parts like alternators, starters, lights, body panels, and interior components. For those looking to save money on repairs, purchasing used parts from a salvage yard can be a cost-effective alternative to new OEM or aftermarket parts. The service also extends to purchasing scrap metal, as indicated by the customer comment, "You got scrap metal laying around, bring it right here." This provides a useful service for individuals and businesses looking to responsibly dispose of metallic waste, offering a convenient local option.

The features of S & S Auto Parts & Salvage, as described by customers, include a "great location" which implies ease of access for local residents. The phrase "Close to home! Can't beat that" further emphasizes its convenience. Another significant feature is the staff's readiness to assist, as noted by a positive reviewer: "The staff is cordial and ready for whatever you show up with. They have everything you need to assist you with unloading heavy items." This highlights a helpful and accommodating aspect of their service, especially for customers dealing with bulky or heavy auto parts. The mention of a "well maintained yard" is a crucial operational feature for a salvage business, as it suggests organized inventory and a safer environment for Browse and picking up parts. Additionally, the business's willingness to accept scrap metal broadens its utility beyond just selling parts, making it a local resource for recycling. Some online information also indicates that they offer a standard 30-day warranty on most parts, and a 90-day warranty on driveline components (motors, transmissions, etc.), which adds a layer of confidence for buyers of used parts.

However, the negative customer review highlights severe inconsistencies in service and features. The most critical issue reported is a "horrible attitude" from a staff member on the phone, followed by inaccurate information about part availability. A customer drove "an hour and twenty minutes" only to be told the part was not in stock, despite being assured it was. This points to a significant flaw in their inventory management or communication protocols, leading to a "complete waste of two hours and forty minutes" for the customer. Furthermore, the revelation that they "only accepted cash" upon arrival, without prior notification, created an additional inconvenience, forcing the customer to make an extra trip to a bank. This lack of transparency regarding payment methods is a critical negative feature that can severely impact customer satisfaction and trust. The overall impression from this negative review is a lack of professionalism and basic customer courtesy, contradicting the positive accounts of "cordial" staff.

Regarding promotional information, a business like S & S Auto Parts & Salvage typically promotes its vast inventory of used parts, competitive pricing, and environmental benefits of recycling. While the provided reviews don't offer explicit promotional taglines, the positive feedback inherently serves as a form of promotion, emphasizing convenience, a well-maintained yard, and helpful staff. For example, "Great place! Great location! Better than the backyard!!" acts as an informal endorsement. However, the negative review serves as a strong counter-promotion, cautioning potential customers about issues with communication, accuracy, and payment policies. A balanced view suggests that while the business may offer tangible benefits like readily available used parts and scrap metal services, customers should ideally verify part availability and payment methods before making a significant trip. It would be prudent for customers to clarify all details over the phone, including stock checks and accepted payment types, to avoid the reported negative experience.

In conclusion, S & S Auto Parts & Salvage at 3455 Field Rd, Clio, MI, serves as an important component of the local "Auto Repair Stations" landscape, providing used auto parts and scrap metal recycling services. Its advantageous location and reportedly well-maintained yard are positives, with some customers praising the helpfulness of the staff and the convenience of its operations. However, critical customer feedback indicates significant inconsistencies in communication accuracy and professionalism, particularly regarding part availability and payment methods. Therefore, while S & S Auto Parts & Salvage offers valuable resources for vehicle owners and recyclers, prospective customers are advised to thoroughly confirm all necessary details, including part stock and accepted payment types, to ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience.

Great place! Great location! Better than the backyard!! You got scrap metal laying around, bring it right here. These guys will take good care of you. They don't have anyone standing around making sure that the wall is there. The staff is cordial and ready for whatever you show up with. They have everything you need to assist you with unloading heavy items. Close to home! Can't beat that. Overall impression is that I was actually impressed. Well maintained yard.

HORRIBLE!!! I would never recommend this place for anything. The woman on the phone had a horrible attitude when I called to see if they had a part in stock. The woman told me that they had the part. I drove a hour and twenty minutes to buy the part. When I arrived, I was informed that the only accepted cash. I went to a local bank to get cash and came back to buy the part just to be told that they didn't have the part and never had the part. This was a complete waste of two hours and forty minutes of my time, because a receptionist wanted to have an attitude and be lazy and not actually check to make sure that they had the part.
