Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service Introduce

Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service, located at 2323 E Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA, is an established presence within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category in the Las Vegas area. They are contactable at (702) 843-5864 or +1 702-843-5864. As a "Complete Auto Service," they aim to provide a wide array of maintenance and repair solutions for vehicles. However, customer experiences, as reflected in the provided reviews, offer a mixed perspective on their service delivery and pricing practices.

Environment and Customer Experience

The physical environment of Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service would typically be that of a full-service auto repair shop, featuring multiple service bays, diagnostic equipment, and a customer waiting area. As a "complete auto service," it aims to project an image of professionalism and capability, equipped to handle a variety of automotive needs. The brand "Ted Wiens" itself carries a degree of recognition and history in the local area, which often implies a certain standard of service and trust.

However, the customer experience at Ted Wiens, based on the provided reviews, appears to be inconsistent. One review highlights a highly positive experience:

  • "I had a great experience! They fixed my tire quickly and professionally, and everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly, and I was back on the road in no time. Highly recommend!" This suggests that for specific, straightforward services like tire repair, Ted Wiens can deliver prompt, professional, and friendly service, leading to high customer satisfaction.

Conversely, another review details a significantly negative experience:

  • "I took my 2023 Nissan Sentra to this place because my driver's brake was screeching metal and felt very stiff. They told me it was the driver's caliper, but they told me they 'need to replace both of the front calipers' and some other things I don't remember off of their list. After their inspection they said the charge would be $2,500. I was stressing so bad and even considered their credit card option. I ended up paying $360 at a different family owned shop. My car is perfectly normal again. I am very upset that a good name I trusted like Ted Wiens wanted to overcharge me so astronomically bad, so I DO NOT recommend this place." This review raises serious concerns about diagnostic practices and pricing, alleging a significant overcharge compared to a different repair shop that resolved the issue for a fraction of the cost.

This stark contrast in experiences indicates that while some services might be handled efficiently and satisfactorily, other interactions, particularly those involving more complex diagnostics and repairs, could lead to customer frustration and a perception of being overcharged. The "good name I trusted like Ted Wiens" comment suggests a pre-existing positive reputation that, for this particular customer, was severely undermined.

Services and Goods for Sale

As a "Complete Auto Service," Ted Wiens aims to offer a broad spectrum of automotive repair, maintenance, and related goods. While not exhaustively listed, common services at such establishments typically include:

  • Tire Services: This is directly mentioned and positively reviewed, including tire repair, sales of new tires, rotation, balancing, and alignment.
  • Brake Services: Diagnosis, repair, and replacement of brake components (pads, rotors, calipers, lines), as indicated by the second customer's experience. This includes addressing issues like screeching and stiffness.
  • Oil Changes and Routine Maintenance: Standard preventative services crucial for vehicle longevity.
  • Fluid Services: Checks and replacements for transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, etc.
  • Battery Services: Testing, replacement, and recycling of automotive batteries.
  • Suspension and Steering Repair: Addressing issues with shocks, struts, control arms, and steering components.
  • A/C and Heating Repair: Diagnosis and repair of climate control systems.
  • Diagnostic Services: Utilizing computer systems to identify and troubleshoot vehicle malfunctions.
  • Engine Services: Addressing minor engine issues, tune-ups, and potentially more complex engine repairs.
  • Filters and Belts: Replacement of air filters, cabin filters, fuel filters, serpentine belts, and timing belts.

The "goods for sale" would primarily be the automotive parts required for these services, such as tires, brake components (calipers, pads, rotors), batteries, filters, fluids, and other essential vehicle components. As a larger chain or established business, they would likely carry a wide range of parts from various manufacturers.

Key Features and Strengths (and Areas of Concern)

Based on the provided information, the perceived features and strengths of Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service are:

  • Comprehensive Service Offering: Their claim to be a "Complete Auto Service" suggests they can handle a wide variety of vehicle needs under one roof, offering convenience to customers.
  • Established Brand Recognition: "Ted Wiens" is a recognizable name in the Las Vegas automotive market, which can initially inspire trust and attract customers.
  • Efficiency for Simple Services: For straightforward tasks like tire repair, they demonstrate capability in providing quick and professional service.

However, the negative review highlights significant areas of concern that local users should be aware of:

  • Potential for Overcharging: The discrepancy between Ted Wiens's $2,500 estimate for a brake issue and another shop's $360 resolution for the same problem is a major red flag regarding their pricing and recommended repairs. This suggests a potential for unnecessary upsells or inflated costs.
  • Diagnostic Accuracy/Integrity Concerns: The recommendation to replace "both front calipers" and "some other things" when only one side was experiencing issues, and the problem was fixed simply and cheaply elsewhere, raises questions about the accuracy of their diagnostics and the integrity of their recommendations.
  • Inconsistent Customer Trust: While some customers may trust them, the negative review indicates that for others, this trust can be severely eroded due to perceived exorbitant pricing and unnecessary repair suggestions.
Promotional Information and Customer Testimonials

Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service would typically leverage its brand name, extensive service range, and convenient locations in its promotional efforts. They would likely highlight their long-standing presence in the community, the expertise of their technicians, and their ability to handle diverse automotive needs, from routine maintenance to more complex repairs. Promotions might include discounts on specific services, tire sales, or multi-point inspections.

However, the provided customer testimonials present a contrasting narrative that would influence a consumer's perception:

  • The positive review ("I had a great experience! They fixed my tire quickly and professionally, and everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly, and I was back on the road in no time. Highly recommend!") would be a strong asset, showcasing their efficiency and customer satisfaction for certain services.
  • The negative review ("I took my 2023 Nissan Sentra... They told me... charge would be $2,500. ... I ended up paying $360 at a different family owned shop... so I DO NOT recommend this place.") serves as a critical warning. This kind of feedback, highlighting potential overcharging and unnecessary repairs, can significantly damage a business's reputation and deter new customers, regardless of other positive experiences.

For local users in Las Vegas, it's important to consider both perspectives. While Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service at 2323 E Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA, and reachable at (702) 843-5864, offers a broad range of automotive services and can provide quick and professional help for certain issues like tire repair, potential customers should be aware of the concerns raised regarding their diagnostic recommendations and pricing for more involved repairs. It would be prudent for consumers to seek second opinions for significant repair estimates to ensure they are receiving fair and necessary service.

I brought my 2014 Kia Optima in because the rear brakes were making a funky sound. Even though I brought car in late in the day, this crew of mechanic were still able to diagnose the issue before they closed. The next day I received a phone call as promised with a price quote that was fair considering the amount of work required. By 3 pm that same day,my car was repaired and ready for pickup. My car now stops on a dime and best of all no more funky sounds. Thank you Ted Wiens

The crew at the location on Eastern and Warm Springs are knowledgeable, and extremely pleasant and professional. In the past, I have gone to service locations and always wondered if they have my best interest at heart or theirs; this team has made suggestions that have saved me money along the way and allowed me to keep my vehicles performing very well.

Ozzie at the Weins on Warm Springs @ Eastern was such a sweetheart. He was so patient with me, answered all my questions, and in assessing my needs saved me money on options recommended by my Dealer that I didn't need. He had my car serviced quickly and back to me sooner than quoted. I have and will continue to recommend Weins & Ozzie.
