Svcustoms Introduce
SVCustoms, located at 221 Pike St, Marietta, OH 45750, USA, is a specialized automotive business primarily focusing on protective coatings, undercoating, and rustproofing services for various vehicles, including trucks and trailers. While the platform category is "Auto Repair Stations," SVCustoms functions as a niche service provider for vehicle protection and customization, rather than general mechanical repairs. You can reach them at (740) 374-3408 or via mobile at +1 740-374-3408.
Their expertise lies in applying durable coatings, most notably Line-X, to enhance the longevity and resilience of vehicle surfaces. Customer experiences, however, present a mixed narrative, highlighting both the professionalism of initial application and significant concerns regarding coating specifications, warranty policies, and post-service customer care. This detailed introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of their services, features, and reputation.
SVCustoms operates from a facility on Pike Street in Marietta, a well-trafficked area indicating accessibility for customers. As a specialized coating and automotive accessory shop, the environment is geared towards efficient and professional application processes. This would include dedicated bays or areas equipped with proper ventilation systems, spray booths, and specialized application tools necessary for applying protective coatings like Line-X. The space is likely designed to accommodate various sizes of vehicles, from pickup trucks to dump trailers, for the application process. While specific details on a customer waiting area are not provided, the nature of their services suggests a functional, industrial setting where precision and cleanliness are paramount for the application of coatings. The store also has a presence on Pike St and 8th St, suggesting a potentially larger or multi-faceted operation.
SVCustoms offers a range of services primarily focused on vehicle protection and customization, with a strong emphasis on spray-on coatings. Key services and goods for sale include:
- Protective Liners (e.g., Line-X): A core service is the application of spray-on liners for truck beds and trailers. This involves applying a durable coating designed to protect surfaces from abrasion, impact, rust, and corrosion. The customer review specifically mentions a "12K Diamond C dump trailer" being lined, demonstrating their capability to handle large, commercial-grade vehicles. Line-X, a prominent brand in this industry, typically offers a lifetime warranty for truck bedliners, which is a key selling point for authorized applicators.
- Undercoating & Rustproofing: They provide services to undercoat and rustproof vehicles, particularly new trucks. This is crucial for protecting the vehicle's underside from harsh elements, road salt, and debris, preventing rust and corrosion over time. This service is vital for preserving the vehicle's structural integrity and value.
- Truck & SUV Accessories: Although not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews for this specific phone number, based on information related to "SV Customs" at the same address, they also deal in a wide range of truck and SUV accessories, including lift kits, tonneau covers, steps, and more. This indicates a broader focus on vehicle customization alongside their coating services.
In essence, SVCustoms offers specialized chemical applications and installation services that enhance vehicle durability and functionality, rather than traditional mechanical repairs. The "goods" they provide are the protective coatings themselves and, indirectly, the enhanced longevity and resistance of the treated vehicle components.
Customer experiences with SVCustoms highlight several important features:
- Professional Application: Initially, customers note the "excellent job" and that the liner was "evenly applied," suggesting a high level of skill in the application process. The shop is perceived as a "professional shop" in terms of its initial work.
- Courteous and Professional Staff: One positive review praises the staff as "courteous and professional," indicating a pleasant interaction and a commitment to customer service. The thoroughness of their undercoating/rustproofing job was also highly commended.
- Initial Price Adherence: For the initial service, the business "charged just what was quoted," demonstrating transparency in pricing.
- Concerns Regarding Coating Thickness: A significant issue arose with a trailer liner being "extremely thin" (0.40 microns compared to a required 1.0 or above for durability). This indicates a potential quality control issue where the product was not applied to industry or brand specifications, leading to premature wear.
- Warranty and Responsibility Issues: A major point of contention was the shop's stance on warranty for trailer liners. The customer was informed that "only truck beds have a warranty" and was treated as if SVCustoms was "doing me a favor by correcting their mistake." This suggests a lack of clear communication regarding warranty policies before service and a reluctance to take full responsibility when issues arise, which significantly damaged customer trust.
- Inconvenience of Rectification: The need for "three round trips of 1.5 hrs each" and waiting a month for repairs, despite the issue being due to their application error, caused considerable inconvenience and additional costs (diesel for empty trailer trips) for the customer. The admission that the thin coating was due to being "rushed and overbooked" further raises concerns about operational management and quality consistency.
In summary, while SVCustoms demonstrates initial professionalism in application and has courteous staff, the consistency of their work, transparency in warranty policies for different applications, and their approach to correcting errors appear to be areas of significant concern based on customer feedback.
Based on the provided reviews, there is no explicit promotional information such as ongoing deals, discounts, or loyalty programs mentioned. However, the initial positive impression and word-of-mouth that the business had "always heard great things" about SVCustoms suggest that their reputation for professional work generally precedes them. Their ability to handle specialized coatings for commercial vehicles like dump trailers also positions them as a valuable resource for agricultural or construction businesses in the area.
The company's commitment to Line-X application is a strong promotional point, as Line-X itself is a nationally recognized brand with a reputation for durability (and typically offers a lifetime warranty for truck bedliners). However, the critical feedback regarding the application thickness and warranty for trailers highlights a potential disconnect between brand expectations and actual service delivery in some instances. For prospective customers in Marietta, Ohio, particularly those with commercial trailers or specific coating needs, it would be prudent to engage in detailed discussions about application thickness, specific warranty coverage for their particular vehicle type (especially non-truck beds), and the process for addressing any potential issues before committing to services. SVCustoms can be contacted at (740) 374-3408 or +1 740-374-3408, or visited at 221 Pike St, Marietta, OH 45750, USA, for inquiries and consultations.

Svcustoms Customer Reviews
I own an agricultural business across the river. I had these guys line a new 12K Diamond C dump trailer for me. They did an excellent job. Exactly as we discussed, charged just what was quoted. The liner was evenly applied and you can tell this is a professional shop. I will have them line all of my trailers and trucks from now on. Edit: After our first load of timber the liner was rubbed off the side and floor of the trailer right down to the metal. That’s when we noticed that the coat of line-x, while even applied, was applied extremely thin. After contacting the SCV for repair, I was asked to bring the trailer back for inspection. Turns out the liner was sprayed on at .40 microns. It is required to be sprayed on at 1.0 or above for durability. So mine was half the recommended thickness. While SCV agreed to repair the liner, I had to wait a month to have the repair made. This also required three round trips of 1.5 hrs each and all that diesel pulling around an empty trailer. It was fixed, but I can’t say for how long. It was only after I came back with a damaged liner that I was told only truck beds have a warranty. I was treated as if SCV was doing me a favor by correcting their mistake. I was told repeatedly they “didn’t have to” and “trailers aren’t covered by a warranty.” I was also told that the thin coating was likely because the application was done on a day they “were rushed and overbooked.” Due to the hassle of returning twice after the job for a faulty application, I can no longer recommend.

My experience with them was great as the staff was courteous and professional. I had purchased a new Toyota truck and had them undercoat & rustproof it. After getting my truck back I can honestly say that I’m the type of person to get under it and look at the work and I can say that they done a very thorough job. Great job staff!!!
